ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

「The Unique Scenario exclusive for Heroes, “The Trials of Bravery” has progressed further.」

「Seek a place beyond the scorching heat with the armored vessel in tow……?」

「「…………」」

Oh well, I guess this just means that both Rei-san and I are going to be left out of the loop this time around. I mean, I have my Aradval with me here, so maybe that would net me a passage here, but as for Rei-san? I don’t think that there is anything that can be done in her case.

And with Ladder-san who was already heading towards the tunnel leading to the Red Dragon resting area, the two of us are left really feeling out of place here. I must admit, that’s not the best feeling in the world to have.

「What are we going to do now, Rei-san? I mean, I still have some sort of business in the same place where those two are going, but what about you……?」

「Umm, if you ask me about that so out of the blue, then I…… I don’t really know, I didn’t think about it……」

「Hmm? Ahh, Midas-dono! Midas-dono!」

「Hm? What is it, lad?」

「Do you mind if we were to take a closer look at those murals for the time being?」

「No, I do not mind that at all. In fact, I would like to encourage you to do just that. After all, you might not be the one chosen to save the stars, but you seem to be Aradval’s chosen one. And that is more than enough of a reason to me. So gaze at the murals to your heart’s content.」

No matter how you look at it, Aradval is way too specialized for any of the sub-races of the New World Mind you, not in the sense of damage, but in the sense of raw utility. However, I know that this might actually be a little bit rude to actually start a secret conversation with someone right when your host is in front of you, but I really need to consult with Rei-san at the current moment, so even though it pains me to do so, this is exactly what we are doing at the current moment.

「…… So, what are we supposed to do now?」

「Umm…… This might be only in my head, but. I don’t really think that we should be here right now.」

Huh, and why is that? There should be nothing about us, or me in particular, that would make it impossible for me to be here, or make anyone in here uncomfortable. I mean, I have already removed the “Migratory Bird” from my inventory and all that. Especially after Galatena was scared unnecessarily like that before. But it is precisely because of that fact that Rei-san can currently see the dubious expression that my female avatar was making. Even though I wished that she could remain clueless about it.

「…… Besides, after we have come in here, there was a window that popped up.」

「A window? As in…… system window? Was it a notification of some sort?」

「Yes ……… Apparently it was a system notification regarding my Greatsword.」

「Ah……… So that would be,」

On a scale from good to bad. There can only be a choice between those two opposite extremes. And when it comes to things like that, it is always the “bad” category.

Heroic Weapons are basically weapons that will be used as symbols of humankind in the future Unique Scenarios. If we were to consider various information that we have come across until this point in time and put it all together…… In other words, it is content that has a role in the future events and has importance for the plot.

On the other hand, Rei-san’s weapon is a weapon that goes back to the past and is connected to the “Truth” somehow. A weapon that goes beyond the Era of the Gods and leads to the discovering of the truth of the Origin in the old days.

In terms of compatibility, it is close to the relationship between good and evil. It’s probably not innately evil as long as the Player wielding it chooses it to be that way, but it’s unlikely that you’ll get good results by using a weapon like that as you approach the birthplace of the Heroic Weapons and their associated scenario.

「By the way, does it even say what do you need to do with this weapon? Or is there no such thing?」

「…… To soak it in white scratches. And that’s about it.」

The guidelines of ShanFro’s scenarios sure are helpful, god damn it. Why is it that they cannot be easy to understand and carry out? It would make our lives so much easier. But no, they just have to unnecessarily complicate everything! Thanks a lot!

「Okay, so…… Let’s just go outside of the volcano for now. Maybe we can find some sort of a clue there.」

「We are going to search outside? Not inside?」

「…… Since this is most likely a primordial weapon or something close to that, it seems plausible that we might find something in places far remote from any human civilization.」

I see, I see. If we are talking about greatsword like that…… A demonic Sword of the Demon God, it only seems about right that it would be related with some remote place where no human could easily approach or venture. And if so, is it a good call to think that we can have some cue outside of Holvalkin? I mean, this area is already as remote from civilization as it can get.

「Hmm, I see…… Alright then, I’ll help you once I get over with my business here.」

「A-Are you sure? Is that really okay?」

「Yes, it’s perfectly alright if you were to ask me. You see, the Origin is actually everyone’s concern, so any people who openly oppose it are someone well worth aiding in their quest.」

As for me, for the time being I will act a little bit differently from the way in which Rei-san did, as I also have to fulfil my own original purpose here. And it’s way better to actually get down to it now than to save it up for later.

Golden King Midas? Does that mean that he has some sort of connection to the Golden Magma? Or maybe that’s only the content available for the chosen Heroes? You know, I mean…… if possessing the golden equipment is the main condition of being granted free passage and favor of the Leader of the Miner Dwarves, then everything should be fine. I mean, I have the golden bucket with me here, remember? So let’s see how that is going to play out, shall we?

「Hmm, yes, even though you do not possess the power necessary to save the stars, you can scoop up some magma from here no problem. I don’t see the reason to forbid you from doing so.」
