Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

This was the story Principal Wang Guihua told Zhao Rong and his assistant.

Originally, when Xijing City Women’s University was founded, it admitted male students as well as female students. However, a strange phenomenon suddenly began to occur. One after another, the male students at the university started disappearing.

This continued until only one male student remained. It was only then that the school’s administration realized the gravity of the situation and decided to call the police. After an investigation, the police identified their primary suspect: a man nicknamed the Rainy Night Killer, who had once worked as a chef in the school cafeteria.

Although they had a target, the police were never able to capture him. The Rainy Night Killer was an elusive figure who would appear for a time only to vanish again, and his anti-surveillance skills were particularly formidable. Thus, under the threat he posed, any man who set foot on the university grounds would mysteriously disappear.

Faced with this terror, some male students took the initiative to disguise themselves as women. They wore wigs, heavy makeup, female school uniforms, and even high heels. At first, other men mocked them for it, but what happened next astonished everyone. The students who cross-dressed lived and studied in peace, while those who continued to present as men vanished, one by one. Despite their efforts, neither the school nor the police could find any trace of the missing students.

In a desperate move to protect its remaining male students, the university issued a new rule: any man who wished to enroll must do so in the guise of a woman. The university would only accept male students who were dressed as females. All others would be turned away. This was a measure of protection, not some perverted requirement.

After hearing the story, the hairs on the back of Zhao Rong’s neck stood up. He glanced at the gloomy night outside the window before asking Principal Wang Guihua, ”Principal, since all the male students started dressing as women, have any of them disappeared?”

Wang Guihua nodded. ”There’s something you don’t know. The Rainy Night Killer is a very peculiar assassin. He seems to favor women, sparing any man who is dressed like one. But I guarantee that any man who appears at this university as himself will disappear within three days...”

Hearing that, a chill ran down the assistant’s spine. ”Principal,” he said, ”does that mean the Rainy Night Killer still hasn’t been caught?”

With a profound look in her eyes, Principal Wang Guihua said, ”You’re right. Not only has he never been captured, but he is still at large. Moreover, it’s very likely that he’s currently lurking somewhere on campus, prowling through the grounds at night, searching for his next target...”

Zhao Rong gasped. ”Principal, does that mean men like my assistant and me, who aren’t dressed as women, will be found by the Rainy Night Killer and mysteriously disappear within three days?”

Principal Wang Guihua nodded grimly, her eyes filled with fear. ”That’s right. Before you two, there were over a dozen male students who defied the school’s regulations and refused to disguise themselves. Every one of them vanished without a trace within three days.”

Wiping the cold sweat from his forehead, the assistant said in disbelief, ”They just disappeared? Are they really impossible to find?”

Principal Wang Guihua seemed to recall those events. ”As the saying goes, we need to see a person if they’re alive or a body if they’re dead. But these missing students... it’s as if they simply evaporated into thin air. Not a single clue was left to follow.”

Upon hearing this, Zhao Rong immediately retrieved a DNA Location Detector from his Magic Ring. ”Principal, do you have DNA samples from any of the missing students?”

The principal shook her head. ”Why would I need those? They’ve been gone for a long time. There isn’t a single trace of them left, let alone DNA.”

Zhao Rong explained, ”This DNA Location Detector is a piece of cutting-edge technology. As long as I can obtain the DNA of the missing students, I can use it to pinpoint their locations and rescue them from the Rainy Night Killer.”

When the principal heard that Zhao Rong intended to rescue the students, she laughed dismissively. ”Zhao Rong, do you really think those students who vanished are still alive? You don’t think the Rainy Night Killer murdered them?”

Clearly, Principal Wang Guihua assumed the missing students were long dead, buried in some godforsaken place.

In contrast to her pessimism, Zhao Rong was optimistic. ”I have a feeling they’re not dead. I believe the Rainy Night Killer has them hidden away, perhaps captive in some secret basement. They’re still alive.”

Principal Wang Guihua sighed. ”If you really believe they’re still alive, then go ahead and look for them.”

”I believe I can do it,” Zhao Rong said firmly. ”Not only will I find them, but I’ll also rescue them from those secret basements.”

The assistant chimed in supportively, ”Principal, don’t underestimate my big brother Zhao Rong. I’m sure he can not only save the missing students from the Rainy Night Killer’s clutches, but he can also capture the killer alive and hand him over to the police to be brought to justice!”

Hearing this, the principal sneered. ”The Rainy Night Killer is the most formidable assassin in the world. No one is his match.”

When Zhao Rong heard Principal Wang Guihua seemingly defending the killer, he asked, unable to understand, ”Principal, the Rainy Night Killer is a villain. Why do you speak of her as if she were some kind of hero?”

Principal Wang Guihua immediately changed her tune. ”Zhao Rong, Assistant, you’ve both misunderstood me. I’m not saying the killer is some great hero. I just think the Rainy Night Killer seems to be targeting a very specific group of people.”

Hearing the phrase ”a specific group of people,” Zhao Rong’s eyes darted around for a moment. He asked the principal, confused, ”What specific group of people?”

The principal explained, ”This university is the most prestigious in Xijing City. When it was founded, it was meant exclusively for women, with the goal of cultivating a generation of outstanding female leaders. However, some powerful officials and nobles insisted on sending their spoiled, profligate sons here. Once they arrived, these young men didn’t just neglect their studies; they trifled with the female students’ emotions and even assaulted them. The presence of these wastrels severely damaged our university’s image, spirit, and reputation.”

Processing her words, Zhao Rong said, ”Principal, are you suggesting the Rainy Night Killer is making these men disappear to restore the university to an all-female sanctuary? To scare those officials and nobles into keeping their sons away?”

Principal Wang Guihua nodded. ”I believe that is one of the killer’s motives. As for any others, I can’t be certain.”

The assistant frowned. ”So the Rainy Night Killer is some kind of Robin Hood?”

”I don’t know if he’s a Robin Hood,” the principal said after a moment of thought. ”But I can guarantee one thing: the Rainy Night Killer was once a student at this university.”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong immediately came to a conclusion. ”If the killer was a student here, hates men, and wants them gone from this university, then I’d say there’s a 90% chance the Rainy Night Killer is a woman.”

When the principal heard Zhao Rong’s theory, she threw her head back and laughed. ”Student Zhao Rong, you must be joking! How could the Rainy Night Killer possibly be a woman?”

The assistant immediately jumped in. ”Why couldn’t it be a woman? There are plenty of women in this world more ruthless than any man!”

The principal turned, fixing her eyes on the assistant. ”If the killer were a woman, where would she get the strength to carry off three or four men at once? And how could she so accurately predict male psychology?”

The principal’s words gave Zhao Rong pause, but even as a new wave of confusion washed over him, he silently reaffirmed his mission.

Although the chairman ordered me to come to this university to pursue Wang Guihua, I’m giving myself another task. I’m going to unmask the Rainy Night Killer, find the missing male students, and rescue them.

Zhao Rong took out his phone and checked the time. It was already 2:30 a.m. He let out a huge yawn and said to the principal, ”It’s getting late. We should head back to our dorm and get some rest.”

The assistant was so tired he could barely keep his eyes open. ”I can’t believe our first day here was so eventful. It was even more intense than our first day at the Ghost Hunting Academy.”

As they were about to leave, Principal Wang Guihua offered a final warning. ”I urge you two to reconsider. Wear the wigs, put on the heavy makeup, dress in women’s clothes, and put on high heels. Disguise yourselves. It’s the only way you can study here safely and stay alive. Otherwise, I fear you’ll end up just like the other students who ignored the advice and disappeared without a trace within three days.”

Hearing the principal’s warning, Zhao Rong went against her advice. ”Principal, thank you for your concern. But I want to challenge this so-called Rainy Night Killer. I intend to remain at this university as a man. Let’s just see if my assistant and I will also disappear without a trace within three days.”

With that, Zhao Rong and his assistant left the principal’s office, heading toward the nearby women’s dormitory building.
