Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Zhao Rong took the test kit from the delivery guy and thanked him. ”Thanks so much. I didn’t expect online orders to have such flexible, fast, and impressive delivery options...”

The delivery guy said impatiently, ”Sir, can you please sign for it? I only have five minutes to get a food delivery to that building across the street.”

Hearing that the guy was in a hurry, Zhao Rong quickly signed while asking, ”How much can you delivery guys make in a month these days?”

As he turned to leave, the delivery guy replied, ”Back when I just delivered food, I made about 10,000 yuan a month. Now that I do both food and packages, I can clear around 20,000.”

Hearing the delivery guy’s income, Zhao Rong couldn’t help but sigh, ”In this society, anyone who’s willing to work hard can live a good life.”

Before Zhao Rong could finish, his assistant snatched the AIDS test kit from his hand. He took a deep breath and muttered, ”I hope I don’t have it...”

With that, the assistant tore open the packaging. Inside was a lancet, a dropper, and the test cassette. He followed the instructions, first disinfecting his fingertip. Then, he used the lancet to prick his finger, squeezed out a single drop of blood, and applied it to the test cassette. Next, he added a drop of the diluent solution from the kit.

Once the test was prepared, the assistant waited silently for the result. While he waited, Zhao Rong picked up the instruction manual. He read that the results would appear in fifteen minutes. One red line meant a negative result—no infection. Two red lines meant a positive result—a 100% confirmation of infection.

Normally, fifteen minutes would fly by, but for the assistant, it felt as long as a century. These were fifteen minutes that would decide between life and death.

Right now, I feel like I’m waiting for God’s roulette to spin. Life or death will be decided in this single moment.

As the minutes ticked by, cold sweat dripped from the assistant’s forehead. When the fifteen minutes were finally up, he squeezed his eyes shut and said to Zhao Rong and the three women, ”Quick, you guys look for me. Is it one line or two?”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong picked up the test cassette. Holding it up to the sunlight, he was stunned to see that there weren’t one or two lines on it, but three. Zhao Rong stared at the three lines, speechless for a long moment, unsure how to answer.

When the assistant saw Zhao Rong’s silence, he panicked. Breaking out in a cold sweat, he asked, ”Brother Zhao Rong, is it two lines? Is it positive?” His voice trembled as he spoke.

Zhao Rong swallowed hard and told him, ”Assistant, it’s not two lines...”

Upon hearing it wasn’t two lines, the assistant’s eyes shot open. He jumped to his feet and cheered, ”I’m so damn lucky! I wasn’t infected after all! How can my luck be this good? I’m truly blessed by the heavens!” Then, he looked at Zhao Rong. ”Brother Zhao Rong, it’s one line then, right? Negative?”

Since it’s not two lines, it has to be the single line for a negative result.

But to the assistant’s shock, Zhao Rong replied awkwardly, ”It’s... not one line either.”

Hearing that it was neither one nor two lines, the assistant was so shocked he nearly fainted. He snatched the test cassette from Zhao Rong’s hand. Staring at the three lines, he said in disbelief, ”What the hell? Did I buy a counterfeit test?”

With that, he immediately thought of the nearby hospital. He turned to Zhao Rong and the three women. ”I’m going all in! Instead of trusting this crappy test, I’m going to the hospital to get checked for real!” As he spoke, he dashed toward the hospital just outside the campus.

Seeing the assistant run off, Lili followed him, saying, ”Assistant, don’t rush off! We’ll all go with you. We’re afraid you won’t be able to handle the real results alone...”

Yu Lan also hurried after them, calling out reassuringly, ”Assistant, you have to have faith in yourself! I’m sure you weren’t infected. Heaven protects good people!”

After the two women left, only Xuelian and Zhao Rong remained. Xuelian glanced at Huang Xiaojuan, who was trussed up on the ground, and then at the handcuffed female weightlifter beside her. She asked Zhao Rong, ”Brother Zhao Rong, what should we do with these two criminals?”

Hearing Xuelian’s question, Zhao Rong activated the Magic Ring on his finger. He casually brought out the corporate spy, Lu Xiaoqiang, from within it and said to her, ”We’ve been through hell and back since the Chairman sent us to this sports college, but we finally caught the corporate spy, Lu Xiaoqiang, and his accomplices, Lu Xiaogang and the female weightlifter. Now, we just need to hand these three over to the police and let the law take its course.”

The moment Lu Xiaoqiang emerged from the Magic Ring, he looked at Lu Xiaogang with deep regret. ”Xiaogang, if we’d known we’d be caught sooner or later for our crimes, we should have just lived as ordinary, law-abiding people.”

Lu Xiaogang added with feeling, ”The arm of the law is long...”

The female weightlifter declared resentfully, ”A gentleman loves wealth, but he obtains it by rightful means. No matter how much money you get from illegal activities, it’s worthless in the end.”

While the three were stewing in their regret, Zhao Rong called the police. Because the trio were wanted fugitives in Xijing City, the police department immediately dispatched an armed unit to take them into custody.

As Zhao Rong watched the police lead the three felons away to face justice, he breathed a sigh of relief. He turned to Xuelian and said, ”Those three villains have finally been caught. We’ve truly rid society of a major menace.”

Xuelian gave Zhao Rong a thumbs-up. ”Brother Zhao Rong, you’re incredible! There’s no bad guy in this world you can’t catch, beat, or handle.”

Hearing Xuelian’s praise, Zhao Rong just chuckled and shook his head. ”To deal with criminals like these, you have to use the harshest methods to bring them to justice. Otherwise, they’ll only get more audacious.”

Xuelian nodded, wholeheartedly agreeing with him. After they finished talking, the two of them headed toward the hospital near the sports college entrance.

By this point, the assistant had already arrived at the hospital. Once inside, he knew he needed to get tested, but he didn’t know which department to register with. He pulled out his phone and did a quick online search. He saw that for the disease he was worried about, he should go to the dermatology department. He immediately registered for a dermatology appointment and rushed up to the second floor.

Inside the dermatology clinic on the second floor, the assistant timidly approached the attractive female doctor. ”Doctor,” he began, ”I’d like to get tested for something...”

The doctor looked him up and down. ”This is dermatology. There’s no need to be embarrassed. You can just tell me what’s wrong.”

Encouraged by her words, the assistant mustered his courage. ”Hello, Doctor. I’d like to get tested for... AIDS.”

When the doctor heard he wanted to be tested for AIDS, her eyes narrowed. ”Young man, have you been living a promiscuous life? Multiple partners? Is that why you think you might have this disease?”

The assistant explained awkwardly, ”No, that’s not it. I’m worried I might have been infected because... I was tricked by a man who was dressed as a woman.”

Hearing how unlucky he’d been, the doctor said sympathetically, ”Alright, I’ll write you a lab order. Go get tested. However, I think you should also be tested for syphilis. The risk of contracting it is often high for people who contract AIDS.” With that, she wrote out a lab order and handed it to him.

The assistant took the order to the cashier to pay. As he pulled money from his pocket, he thought, Getting tested for AIDS and syphilis has to cost a few hundred yuan, right?

But to his surprise, the total cost for both tests was less than 70 yuan.

After paying, he went straight to the blood collection window. The two phlebotomists on duty were both very young, beautiful women. Seeing them, the assistant felt extremely embarrassed as he timidly passed his lab slip through the opening.

When the two young women saw he was being tested for AIDS and syphilis, they exchanged a look. Then, one of them looked back at him with a strange expression. ”Come back tomorrow at 4:00 PM to get your results from the self-service kiosk over there.”

When the assistant heard he had to wait until 4:00 PM the next day, his anxiety spiked. ”Not until tomorrow afternoon? Does that mean I have to spend the next twenty-four hours in terror?”

The phlebotomist explained while drawing his blood, ”You got here too late. If you had come this morning, the results would have been ready by 4:00 PM today. But you came at the wrong time. The first batch of samples has already been sent out for processing. The blood you’re giving now won’t be sent to the lab until tomorrow morning, so your results won’t be available until tomorrow at 4:00 PM.”

Hearing her explanation, the assistant nodded in resignation. ”Alright, I understand.”

Just as he was getting his blood drawn, Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian rushed in.

When the phlebotomist drawing his blood saw three beautiful women rush in after him, she thought to herself, No wonder this guy wants to be tested for AIDS and syphilis. He clearly has way too many partners...
