Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Hearing the sharp cry, Zhao Rong frowned. ”My goodness, what is that sound? Why does it sound a bit like a wild boar?”

Miss Lili shook her head, perked up her ears, and said, ”Zhao Rong, that’s not the sound of a wild boar. It’s clearly the braying of a wild donkey...”

Xuelian spoke seriously, ”I’ve heard that sound on Animal Planet before. It’s the call of a giant lizard...”

As the group argued incessantly, the two kidnappers huddled together in fear. The kidnapper in white said, terrified, ”Oh no, it’s an Ancient Forest Ape...”

The kidnapper in black squeezed into a crevice in the rocks and said fearfully, ”There were originally ten of us stationed in this cave, but because of this Ancient Forest Ape, eight of us have already been eaten...”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong said in confusion, ”The Ancient Forest Ape is a prehistoric animal that should have gone extinct long ago. How can it still appear here on Chicken Rooster Mountain?”

Yu Lan, also astonished, said, ”It seems this Chicken Rooster Mountain is definitely not an ordinary place. It must be a land of mythical creatures...”

Just as Zhao Rong and the others were discussing the Ancient Forest Ape inside the cave, a voice suddenly came from outside. ”Humans inside, come out! I haven’t eaten in three days. Let me satisfy my craving...”

Hearing a voice, Zhao Rong said in surprise, ”Who’s talking? Are there other people here on Chicken Rooster Mountain?”

The kidnapper in black reminded him, ”Sir, that’s not a person talking; it’s the Ancient Forest Ape...”

Hearing that the ape could actually speak, Zhao Rong immediately concluded that this creature must be a magical beast that had cultivated to the point of gaining intelligence. Thus, while drawing his Dharma Sword, Zhao Rong said with great interest, ”I’ve been lacking Demon Crystals for my alchemy lately. It seems one has delivered itself right to my door today...”

With that, Zhao Rong took his Dharma Sword and leaped out of the cave. Seeing that Zhao Rong was completely unafraid of the Ancient Forest Ape, the assistant followed him out. Then, Miss Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian also walked out one after another.

When the group saw the Ancient Forest Ape before them, they were all struck speechless with amazement. The creature was much larger than they had imagined.

Zhao Rong craned his neck to look up at it. ”My goodness, this Ancient Forest Ape is enormous! It must be at least four stories tall...”

The assistant, thinking of the movie *King Kong*, said, ”Oh man, this isn’t an Ancient Forest Ape at all; it’s basically King Kong...”

When the Ancient Forest Ape saw the humans before her, she smiled joyously. ”It’s been a long time since I’ve encountered so many humans. You’ve come just in time to satisfy my craving...” With that, the Ancient Forest Ape charged toward Zhao Rong and his companions.

Zhao Rong grabbed a large rock, hurled it at the ape’s head, and shouted, ”Ancient Forest Ape, if you’ve got the guts, let’s go one-on-one!”

The huge rock Zhao Rong threw struck the Ancient Forest Ape on the head, jolting her. The ape rubbed her head, looked at Zhao Rong, and laughed. ”Human boy, since you wish to die first, I’ll eat you before I deal with the rest of them...”

Holding his Dharma Sword, Zhao Rong looked at the Ancient Forest Ape and said with a laugh, ”Who dies first is still uncertain...”

Just as Zhao Rong was about to face the Ancient Forest Ape, more than a dozen primitives suddenly appeared in the previously deserted area. The group was topless, wearing clothes made of leaves, with feathers tied in their hair. When they saw Zhao Rong about to duel the Ancient Forest Ape, they all let out a chorus of jeers.

The leader of the primitives climbed a large tree and mocked Zhao Rong, saying, ”Modern people, welcome to the tropical rainforest of Chicken Rooster Mountain.

”Though this may be your first time here, it will also be your last.

”In the Primeval Forest of Chicken Rooster Mountain, no one is a match for the Ancient Forest Ape.

”Young man, you might as well prepare for death...”

Next to the leader, a shorter primitive rubbed his large belly, looked at Zhao Rong, and laughed. ”I’ve seen many modern humans in my lifetime, but this is the first time I’ve ever seen one try to fight an Ancient Forest Ape with just a blade. He’s completely overestimating his own strength. It’s like trying to smash a rock with an egg...”

Another stout primitive warned, ”I’m telling you, modern people who trespass in the Primeval Forest of Chicken Rooster Mountain, you will pay the price for your intrusion...”

When Zhao Rong and his companions realized that Chicken Rooster Mountain was home not only to the extinct Ancient Forest Ape but also to primitives, they were so shocked they stumbled to the ground. The assistant scrambled up, wiping the cold sweat from her forehead. ”Damn it, what the hell is this place? There are not only Ancient Forest Apes but also primitives! Did we accidentally travel through time?”

Miss Lili also exclaimed in amazement, ”Everyone in the world is searching for uncharted lands and mysterious, bizarre Mystic Realms, yet it seems no one has ever been here. It’s a miracle...”

Yu Lan looked at the people dressed in leaves and feathers. ”According to Darwin’s theory of evolution, everyone on Earth should have evolved into modern humans by now. How can there still be primitives here? This is truly bizarre...”

Xuelian picked up a stone from the ground and threw it toward the giant ape. ”In the movies I’ve seen, colossal apes like this always protect us humans, especially beautiful women like me. But this one seems to be a bad one. Not only is it not protecting us, but it looks like it wants to kill us...”

Zhao Rong glanced at the group of primitives and announced, ”Listen up, you primitives! Keep your eyes peeled, and I’ll give you a performance today: how to kill an Ancient Forest Ape...”

Hearing this modern man claim he was going to demonstrate how to kill an Ancient Forest Ape, the primitives burst out laughing and chattered among themselves.

”If this scrawny human can kill an Ancient Forest Ape, then we primitives will leave the Primeval Forest and go live in modern society...”

”That’s right! If this man can really kill the king of the rainforest, the Ancient Forest Ape, then all of us will call him ’Grandpa’ and eat dog crap off the ground!”

”Exactly! I think that apart from us primitives, all modern humans are garbage. They only know how to use firearms. They aren’t like us, who use whatever materials are at hand to make weapons to protect ourselves and kill our enemies...”

But before the primitives could finish, Zhao Rong leaped up, brandishing his Dharma Sword, and slashed at the Ancient Forest Ape’s thigh. However, his strike not only failed to sever the ape’s leg but barely managed to chip off a tiny piece of its toenail.

When the surrounding primitives saw how little damage Zhao Rong’s attack had done, they roared with laughter.

”That human’s weapon is less impressive than my blowgun!”

”Yeah, this human is a total weakling. Forget killing an Ancient Forest Ape; I doubt he could even kill an ant!”

”He’s not just a weakling, he’s a complete idiot! It’s like he’s trying to kill a massive bull with a toothpick...”

Zhao Rong ignored the primitives’ mockery and continued to slash at the Ancient Forest Ape with his Dharma Sword. But after several strikes, he had not only failed to break its skin but had barely managed to cut a few of the hairs on its body.

The Ancient Forest Ape rubbed the spot as if it merely tickled, laughing. ”I say, human boy, this is a duel, not a tickle fight. You’re hilarious...”

With that, the ape threw a punch. The force of the blow shook the very earth. Nearby trees were uprooted, and even large boulders were shattered by the impact.

When Zhao Rong saw how powerful the Ancient Forest Ape was, he immediately made an assessment. Holy moly, this Ancient Forest Ape is at least a level 40 magical beast... and I, Zhao Rong, am only a level 29 cultivator; I haven’t even broken through to level 30... It seems the only way to deal with this terrifying magical beast is to win by using an unexpected strategy...

With that, Zhao Rong beckoned to his assistant. ”Assistant, come here! Stand in front of me!”

When the assistant heard Zhao Rong asking her to stand in front of him and act as a human shield, she immediately refused. ”Zhao Rong, what are you doing? Just because you can’t beat the Ancient Forest Ape, you expect me to die with you?”

Zhao Rong explained anxiously, ”Assistant, you’ve misunderstood me. I’m not asking you to die with me; I’m just asking you to stand in front of me...”

The assistant still refused. ”That’s a powerful magical beast! If you make me stand in front of you, even if it’s not dying with you, it’s still suicide!”

Zhao Rong, not knowing how else to explain, acted in a flash. He grabbed the assistant, pulled her in front of him, and roared, ”Remote Cow Punch, Dharma Sword!”

When the assistant heard Zhao Rong was going to use the Remote Cow Punch technique, she smiled to herself. Zhao Rong is using his ultimate move! It looks like this is the end for the Ancient Forest Ape.

But the smile had not yet faded from her face when she suddenly noticed the Dharma Sword in Zhao Rong’s hand.

She exclaimed in terror, ”What are you doing?! The Remote Cow Punch should be a fist striking my stomach to transfer the force to the person behind me... But you’re going to use the Remote Cow Punch with the Dharma Sword! Doesn’t that mean you have to stab me in the stomach first for the sword’s damage to reach the enemy? When you stab me in the stomach, won’t that kill me?!”

While the assistant was still reeling in confusion, Zhao Rong immediately thrust the sword toward her stomach...
