Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

When Zhao Rong and the three beautiful women beside him heard that the assistant had actually been to a hotel with the weightlifter, they were stunned.

Zhao Rong stared at the assistant in disbelief. ”You sneaky guy! I’m with you every day and I never realized you went to get a room with a woman…”

Lili also looked at the assistant, her expression horrified. ”Assistant, your tastes are really something else. It’s not just women you go after; you even go for those who look like men…”

Yu Lan covered her mouth, a strange, unreadable smile on her face. ”Assistant, when we saw you dating the weightlifter, we all warned you to be careful. You promised us you wouldn’t see her anymore, but you were just saying that. Privately, you were still meeting her in secret. Now that you know the truth, I bet you regret it, don’t you?”

On the verge of tears, the assistant scrambled up from the ground and slapped himself twice. ”My brain must have been kicked by a donkey! This is what I get for being a two-faced hypocrite…”

Seeing the assistant’s pained expression, Xuelian stepped forward to comfort him. ”It’s alright. Don’t dwell on what’s already happened. After all, you were deceived too…”

While helping the assistant to his feet, Zhao Rong turned to He Yanming. ”Hand over the USB drive. Then, you’re going to help us arrest the corporate spy Lu Xiaoqiang, along with his accomplices, Lu Xiaogang and the weightlifter.”

Hearing that he was expected to help capture Lu Xiaoqiang, He Yanming’s face filled with fear. ”Brother Zhao Rong, if I go with you to arrest Lu Xiaoqiang, I’ll definitely be exposed! If that happens, I won’t be able to stay in Xijing City. I might even be hunted down and killed!”

Zhao Rong looked at the pitiful man before him and offered an assurance. ”If you help us capture Lu Xiaoqiang, I can help you emigrate.”

He Yanming stared back, incredulous. ”Emigrate? Do you have any idea how hard that is? It takes money! Millions of yuan! Even if you wanted to help me, where would you get that kind of cash?”

To He Yanming, the plainly dressed Zhao Rong showed no signs of wealth. He hardly looked like a rich man. Forget millions; He Yanming doubted he could even produce tens of thousands of yuan.

Before Zhao Rong could speak, He Yanming piped up with his own idea. ”Actually, you could just send me to Argentina. It only costs 100,000 yuan to emigrate there. Besides, Brother Zhao Rong, if you’re short on cash, you could ask these three ladies and your assistant. The five of you could just chip in 20,000 yuan each. That would make 100,000 yuan to send me to Argentina. That could work…”

When the three women heard He Yanming underestimating Zhao Rong, they immediately corrected him. ”He Yanming, you shouldn’t look down on Brother Zhao Rong. He’s a billionaire.”

When He Yanming heard them claim that the plain-looking Zhao Rong was a billionaire, he burst out laughing. ”You don’t have to lie to me. Even without that, I’d still choose to abandon the darkness for the light and help you expose the evil Lu Xiaoqiang.”

In He Yanming’s eyes, Zhao Rong looked so poor it would be impressive if he had even two thousand yuan on him.

Just as He Yanming was dismissing him, Zhao Rong reached into his Magic Ring, pulled out a million yuan in cash, and handed it to him. ”You said it costs 100,000 yuan to emigrate to Argentina, right? Here’s one million yuan. Consider 100,000 of it your emigration fund and the other 900,000 as capital to start a new life. How does that sound? Now you can help us capture the despicable Lu Xiaoqiang without any worries, right?”

Seeing the seemingly poor student casually pull out a million yuan, He Yanming was completely dumbfounded. ”My God… that’s impossible. It’s just not scientific… You actually carry that much cash around?”

The assistant, standing to the side, chimed in. ”Didn’t we already tell you? Brother Zhao Rong is a billionaire. You refused to believe it. Well, he just casually pulled out a million yuan. Do you believe it now?”

He Yanming gasped, taking the stack of money. Looking at Zhao Rong, he choked up. ”The only reason I went astray and started working for a bad guy like Lu Xiaoqiang was because he offered me an annual salary of 100,000 yuan. I never imagined you’d give me one million yuan all at once—that’s ten years of my salary… And I certainly never expected you to be a billionaire. This is completely beyond anything I could have imagined.”

If only I’d known this ’poor student’ was actually a billionaire boss, why would I have ever bothered with Lu Xiaoqiang? I should have just thrown my lot in with this billionaire from the start. After all, you follow a wolf to eat meat, but you follow a dog to eat shit…

With that, He Yanming immediately stood up, handed the USB drive to Zhao Rong, and said, ”Zhao Rong—oh, no, Boss! I’ll take you to capture the mastermind Lu Xiaoqiang right now.”

Then, He Yanming led Zhao Rong and his four companions toward Lu Xiaoqiang’s lair, a secret chamber located within the sports college.

Under He Yanming’s guidance, the group crossed the sports college’s athletic field and stopped at the entrance of an abandoned gymnasium.

He Yanming pointed to the building. ”The secret underground chamber in this gym is the villain Lu Xiaoqiang’s main base. If we go inside, we’re sure to capture him.”

Zhao Rong studied the dilapidated gymnasium and nodded. ”I never would have guessed Lu Xiaoqiang would hide out in a place like this. It’s the perfect cover.”

With that, Zhao Rong, the assistant, Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian followed He Yanming into the abandoned gymnasium.

The inside was filthy. There was feces scattered about, and the place stank to high heaven.

Lili pinched her nose, looking at the filth in disgust. ”You have to give Lu Xiaoqiang some credit. This place is beyond unsanitary.”

Yu Lan immediately pulled a face mask from her pocket and put it on. As she looked around, she said, ”It stinks so badly in here. I can’t imagine the secret chamber is any better.”

Going a step further than Yu Lan, Xuelian pulled a full-on gas mask from her pocket and put it on. ”This is supposed to be an institute of higher learning,” she said angrily. ”But people are just defecating and urinating everywhere. The character of the people here is truly awful.”

While the group was complaining about the stench, He Yanming pointed to a hidden door nearby. ”This is the passage to the secret chamber.”

Zhao Rong stepped forward and examined the passage. ”If we go through here,” he asked He Yanming, ”we’ll find Lu Xiaoqiang, Lu Xiaogang, and the weightlifter?”

He Yanming nodded. ”Absolutely.”

With that, he took the lead and stepped through the hidden door. Zhao Rong followed without a second thought. The assistant, Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian entered one by one after him.

Inside the hidden door was a long corridor. Torches burned along both walls, making it look like a tunnel leading to an ancient tomb.

The assistant walked beside Zhao Rong, a chill running down his spine. ”Brother Zhao Rong, I’ve got a bad feeling about this. It feels less like a secret base and more like an ancient tomb…”

Lili examined the murals on the corridor walls and glanced into the darkness ahead. ”He Yanming hasn’t led us into an ancient tomb, has he?” she said thoughtfully.

Yu Lan observed her surroundings carefully before pulling a compass from her pocket. ”I just remembered, I bought this online a while ago. It’s a special compass designed to locate ancient tombs.”

As she spoke, Yu Lan held the compass out in mid-air. The needle spun wildly for a moment before abruptly stopping, pointing straight ahead.

Seeing this, Yu Lan exclaimed in surprise, ”That’s it! The compass is pointing in the exact direction we’re heading. There must be an ancient tomb up ahead!”

Realizing they were being led into a tomb, Xuelian called out to He Yanming at the front of the group. ”He Yanming! You said you were taking us to Lu Xiaoqiang’s secret chamber. Why is there a tomb up ahead?”

He Yanming immediately explained, ”There is a tomb down here in this corridor. But I’m taking you to the secret chamber, not the tomb.”

Xuelian sounded skeptical. ”He Yanming, we’ve treated you very generously. You wouldn’t be repaying our kindness by leading us into a trap, would you?”

At her words, He Yanming suddenly burst out laughing. ”How could I? I’m not some venomous snake, and you’re not the foolish farmers. Why would I lead my saviors into a trap?”

With that, He Yanming continued walking forward.

Xuelian moved closer to Zhao Rong and whispered, ”Brother Zhao Rong, isn’t it a bit foolish to just follow him like this, without any precautions?”

Zhao Rong simply smiled. ”What makes you think,” he whispered back, ”that I haven’t taken any precautions?”

Before Zhao Rong could finish his sentence, He Yanming suddenly dashed forward a couple of steps and slammed his hand on a switch on the wall. The moment he pressed it, iron bars shot up from the floor, trapping Zhao Rong and his four companions in a cage. From the ceiling above, a giant stone slab began to slowly descend…
