Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Rewinding time slightly, back to when Zhao Rong, Miss Lili, and their two companions hailed and boarded a taxi. The moment he got in, Zhao Rong noticed something suspicious about the driver; the man’s face was a mask of extreme panic.

So, Zhao Rong observed the driver carefully. He remembered Wang Tao had single eyelids, but this man had double. He recalled Wang Tao’s skin being pale, while this man’s was dark. Wang Tao’s nose had been flat and bridgeless, but this driver had a high-bridged nose. Although the man’s altered appearance had nearly fooled him, the pattern of three moles on his neck did not escape Zhao Rong’s notice.

When Zhao Rong had first captured Wang Tao, the most striking feature had been those three moles. They were arranged in an inverted triangle, and each one sprouted a single hair. The distinctive mark was etched firmly in Zhao Rong’s memory, so he immediately concluded that this taxi driver was none other than a surgically altered Wang Tao.

Still, there’s no way it could be such a coincidence, could it? I went to great lengths, even buying advanced scientific equipment online to track him, but I still couldn’t find him. And now, I just randomly hail a taxi, and the driver happens to be a post-surgery, career-changed Wang Tao?

Just as Zhao Rong recognized the driver, Wang Tao also recognized Zhao Rong and the three beautiful women with him.

As it turned out, Wang Tao had fled to avoid prosecution. In a stroke of inspiration, he not only had his face surgically altered but also switched careers to become a taxi driver. Wang Tao believed this two-pronged approach would make him impossible for Zhao Rong and the others to catch. However, he never expected that on his very first day as a taxi driver, his very first fare would be the exact people hunting him down.

When Zhao Rong’s group got into the car, Wang Tao was scared half to death. Trembling with fear, he frantically coached himself.

Wang Tao, don’t be afraid. Don’t you dare give yourself away. Even though they’re after you, you’ve had plastic surgery and changed careers. They’ll never recognize you. They won’t figure out that their taxi driver is Wang Tao himself…

To make his act more convincing, Wang Tao took the initiative and asked Zhao Rong for the portable natural gas compression cylinder he was holding. He reasoned that only by doing this could he seem like a real taxi driver.

But Wang Tao was the mantis stalking the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind him. He had been completely outplayed. Soon after getting in the car, Zhao Rong had already identified him by the unique moles on his neck.

So, Zhao Rong decided to play along. He retrieved a remote-controlled bomb he had previously purchased from his Magic Ring. With a flash of inspiration, he lied, telling Wang Tao it was a portable natural gas compression cylinder. To Zhao Rong’s surprise, Wang Tao eagerly took the bait and accepted the device.

Originally, Zhao Rong had planned to arrest Wang Tao right there in the taxi. However, he worried Wang Tao might crash the car in a panic, harming the three women and any innocent bystanders. So, he decided to deal with him using the remote bomb after they had gotten out.

After dropping them off at the sports college, Wang Tao watched Zhao Rong and the women get out of the taxi, seemingly without a shred of suspicion that he was the wanted criminal. He laughed inwardly. You four fools! You didn’t even realize I’m the man you’re looking for…

Mocking them silently, Wang Tao turned the taxi around and drove off. On the road, he felt triumphant. He pulled out the portable natural gas compression cylinder, preparing to toss it out the window. I’m so smart! You’ll never catch a wanted man who has changed his face and his entire career… he chuckled to himself.

But just as Wang Tao was about to throw the cylinder out the window, Zhao Rong pressed the button on the remote.

Zhao Rong had purposely waited until they were a safe distance away from the car to ensure his own safety and that of the three women and any nearby pedestrians. Before pressing the button, he specifically checked his surroundings. Seeing that Wang Tao’s car was the only one nearby and the road was clear of people, Zhao Rong triggered the bomb.

The moment he did, Wang Tao’s car erupted in a massive fireball, and Wang Tao himself was blasted out of the vehicle.

When the three women saw Zhao Rong sprinting toward the burning taxi, they immediately ran after him. Upon reaching the wreckage, Zhao Rong hauled Wang Tao up and demanded, ”Alright, man, come clean. Are you Wang Tao?”

Now on the brink of death, Wang Tao stared at Zhao Rong in disbelief. ”Impossible… I had surgery, I changed my profession… How did you recognize me? This is impossible!”

Zhao Rong pointed at the triangle of moles on Wang Tao’s neck and smiled. ”You’re clever for a moment but a fool for a lifetime. If you were getting plastic surgery, why didn’t you have the three triangular moles on your neck removed? Did you not realize how incredibly distinctive their arrangement is?”

Furious, Wang Tao slapped himself. ”When I was getting the surgery, the doctor suggested removing them,” he said in agony. ”But when I asked how much it would cost, they gave me an outrageous price—a thousand yuan to remove three moles! I refused on the spot… I figured, why spend a thousand in a hospital when I can find an old woman at a street stall who’ll do all three for three yuan?

”After I left the hospital and became a taxi driver, I was just about to drive over to find that mole-removing lady when I ran into you…” Wang Tao finished, then howled at the sky. ”Dammit! To think I’d lose my life just to save a thousand yuan…”

Lili berated him from the side. ”What goes around comes around. Every criminal gets what they deserve in the end.”

Xuelian also mocked him, ”The net of justice is vast; it misses nothing. Don’t think plastic surgery would let you escape the law and the grasp of Zhao Rong.”

Yu Lan, however, was observing the moles closely. ”Wang Tao, I’ll tell you the truth. Those aren’t ordinary moles. They’re melanomas. The hospital wanted to charge you a thousand yuan because removing them carried a risk of infection. That’s why it was so expensive.”

Hearing Yu Lan’s words, it all clicked for Wang Tao. He slapped himself again and cried, ”The clinic I went to was a private one, and private clinics are known for overcharging. I was on the operating table, halfway through my surgery, when a doctor pointed to my neck and asked if I wanted the moles removed. He said it would be a thousand yuan.

”At the time, I was sure they were trying to scam me. I refused to be ripped off… But I never imagined they weren’t scamming me. Those three moles were actually melanomas… If I’d known I could get three melanomas removed for a thousand yuan, I would have accepted in a heartbeat… Then I wouldn’t have ended up being caught by the four of you today…”

Zhao Rong looked down at him. ”As the saying goes, a dying man’s words are kind. You’re on your way out, so you might as well tell us who the mastermind behind the kidnapping is.”

Wang Tao sighed. ”You’re right, I’m done for. But I took a lot of money from my boss. Even if I die, my parents and my child can still live on that money. So you can kill me, but I’ll never tell you who my boss is.”

Hearing this, Lili stepped forward and slapped him across the face. ”Are you going to talk or not? If you don’t, we’ll finish you off right now!”

Yu Lan also stepped forward. ”If you talk, we’ll give you a quick, clean death. If you don’t, we’ll make sure you die in agony.”

Xuelian chimed in, ”Your boss is a criminal. Why are you protecting him?”

But no matter how the three women pressed him, Wang Tao refused to confess. Helpless, they looked at Zhao Rong and shook their heads. ”Zhao Rong, this guy is too stubborn. We can’t break him.”

Seeing how tough Wang Tao was, Zhao Rong just chuckled. ”I have my ways of dealing with people like this.”

Hearing this, the three women asked in unison, ”Zhao Rong, what method do you have to make him talk?”

Zhao Rong began taking out a pressure cooker, a Resolute Flame burner, and some alchemical herbs from his Magic Ring. ”First, we save his life,” he explained. ”And then we let him die again.

”One death, one revival, and then another death… I imagine that will give him a new perspective on the fickle nature of life. Then he’ll tell us everything.”

Before Zhao Rong could even finish speaking, Wang Tao’s eyes filled with a desperate will to live. ”As long as you save me! As long as I can live to see my son one more time! Then I don’t care if my boss is the emperor of heaven, I’ll tell you everything!”
