Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

When Lili heard that Zhao Rong intended to save the villain before them, she immediately objected, ”Brother Zhao Rong, of all people, why would you save this scoundrel?”

Xuelian, who despised the man, added, ”Saving a villain is the same as hurting good people.”

Yu Lan reminded Zhao Rong, ”Brother Zhao Rong, if you save him this time, he’s bound to cause more harm in the future.”

Facing their opposition, Zhao Rong said quietly, ”While he may be a villain, he is still a human being. Life is precious. If we give him a chance to turn over a new leaf, I believe he won’t continue down this wicked path.”

Faced with the three women’s objections, the assistant, who normally despised evil, surprisingly sided with Zhao Rong. ”He’s a middle-aged man with elderly parents and young children to support. We should spare his life…”

Before the assistant could finish, Zhao Rong hauled Wang Tao up from the ground and began to beat him senseless. The three women were stunned when they saw Zhao Rong grab Wang Tao and start wailing on him.

Lili said in shock, ”Brother Zhao Rong, didn’t you say you wanted to save his life? Why are you beating him so brutally now?”

Xuelian was also completely confused. ”Brother Zhao Rong, are you trying to kill him now?”

The assistant scratched the back of his head, his eyes wide with bewilderment. ”Brother Zhao Rong, didn’t you just say you were giving him a chance to reform? Why are you beating him up?”

Zhao Rong ignored them, continuing to pummel Wang Tao relentlessly. Suddenly, he stopped. Wiping the sweat from his forehead, he sighed with relief and explained, ”This is a new medical technique I recently learned from the alchemy manual. It’s called the Violent Healing Fist.”

Hearing this, the assistant asked with obvious confusion, ”Brother Zhao Rong, does the Violent Healing Fist mean you can save someone’s life just by beating them up?”

Zhao Rong shook his head, then nodded, looking conflicted. ”How do I explain this? Although you see me brutally beating Wang Tao, I’m actually treating him according to a specific set of fist techniques and patterns.”

Lili watched him, a look of realization dawning on her face. ”Brother Zhao Rong, I finally get it! Your Violent Healing Fist is about beating someone on the verge of death back to life, right?”

Zhao Rong nodded, smiling at Lili. ”You’re a smart one. You’ve understood about a third of this life-saving technique.”

Hearing that Lili only understood a third, Xuelian chimed in, ”Brother Zhao Rong, I imagine this Violent Healing Fist you’re using only works on villains and wouldn’t be suitable for good people, correct?”

Zhao Rong smiled and gave Xuelian a thumbs-up. ”Correct again. You’ve also understood a third. Now, between you and Lili, you’ve grasped two-thirds of it.”

At this moment, the assistant hurriedly added, ”Brother Zhao Rong, let me explain the last third! I guarantee my understanding is even more thorough than theirs.”

Zhao Rong nodded. ”Go on, then. How do you understand it?”

The assistant chuckled confidently. ”Brother Zhao Rong, you must have seen Stephen Chow’s ’Flirting Scholar,’ right? In that movie, when Gong Li’s character is turned from a beauty into an ugly mess, Stephen Chow uses the ’Return My Beauty Fist’ to punch her back into a beauty. So, the Violent Healing Fist you just used is essentially the same as the ’Return My Beauty Fist.’ The only difference is that your technique is more likely to cause internal injuries to the patient.”

Listening to the assistant, Zhao Rong’s eyes widened in surprise. ”Assistant, you’ve really hit the nail on the head this time. You’ve completely understood my method.”

Before Zhao Rong could finish speaking, Wang Tao sprang up from the ground. His face was ruddy and he was full of energy as he thanked Zhao Rong profusely. ”Master Zhao Rong, I really don’t know how to thank you. I thought I was about to die. A villain like me... I was sure my life was over and that I’d never see my beloved children or my elderly parents again. But I never imagined you would bring me, a man on the brink of death, back to life. Brother Zhao Rong, I really don’t know how to thank you. You’re like a second father to me, a true savior!”

With that, Wang Tao knelt and began to kowtow in gratitude.

Zhao Rong helped him up and comforted him, ”As long as you can recognize your mistakes and change your ways, we’ll let bygones be bygones. Remember, you must strive to be a good person. Heaven is always watching. Don’t think you can get away with a misdeed just because no one is looking. Heaven knows, and sooner or later, you’ll have to pay the price.”

Wang Tao nodded in agreement. ”Master Zhao Rong, you’re absolutely right. From now on, I will be a good person. And to start, I’ll tell you who the mastermind behind this kidnapping is.”

Zhao Rong’s eyes grew as sharp as an eagle’s as he stared at Wang Tao. ”Quick, tell me. Who orchestrated this kidnapping?”

Wang Tao pointed toward the Sports Institute. ”It was that kid, He Yanming. He’s the one who planned it all.”

Hearing the name, Zhao Rong immediately thought of the president of the Sports Institute’s martial arts club. He looked at Wang Tao and asked him, ”The He Yanming you’re talking about, is he the president of the martial arts club at the Sports Institute?”

Wang Tao nodded frantically. ”That’s right, it’s that guy!”

Hearing that He Yanming was the mastermind, Zhao Rong sucked in a sharp breath. He hadn’t expected this at all. ”Damn, after all this searching, we’ve come full circle, right back to where we started.”

The assistant exclaimed with feeling, ”I never would have thought the mastermind was He Yanming, the president of the martial arts club. That guy is truly ruthless and full of schemes.”

Lili was so angry she gritted her teeth, picked up a stone from the ground, and brandished it. ”When we get back to the Sports Institute, I’m going to smash that beast He Yanming with this stone!”

Xuelian pulled a can of pepper spray from her pocket, her voice laced with fury. ”When we first joined the martial arts club, we paid He Yanming a hefty membership fee. To think he would kidnap his own new members… he’s a despicable bastard!”

Yu Lan, meanwhile, produced a mousetrap from her pocket, saying through clenched teeth, ”When we get to the Sports Institute and find He Yanming, I’m going to use this mousetrap on his privates and make him suffer so much he’ll wish he were dead!”

Having gotten the answer he wanted, Zhao Rong turned to Wang Tao. ”Alright, you can go. From now on, you’re a free man. But remember, you must do good deeds. Don’t do bad things, and don’t become a villain.”

Standing beside Zhao Rong, Lili watched Wang Tao’s retreating figure with concern. ”Brother Zhao Rong, you know a leopard can’t change its spots. What if he goes back to his old ways?”

Zhao Rong confidently patted his chest. ”Lili, what you don’t know is that while I was beating up Wang Tao just now, I secretly installed a chip in his body.”

Hearing that Zhao Rong had stealthily planted a chip on Wang Tao, Lili looked at him in amazement. ”Brother Zhao Rong, you’re really something else! Now that you’ve installed this chip, you can track his every move?”

At Lili’s words, Zhao Rong took out a chip display from his pocket. ”From now on, every single move Wang Tao makes will be displayed right here on this screen.”

When the three women and the assistant saw the state-of-the-art device in Zhao Rong’s hand, they craned their necks curiously. ”Brother Zhao Rong, where did you get this piece of cutting-edge tech?”

Zhao Rong laughed, opened an app on his phone, and pointed at the screen. ”Where else? I bought it on Taobao, of course.”

Just as they were wondering about the device’s accuracy, a voice suddenly emanated from it. ”Voice Alert: Suspect Wang Tao has performed a good deed—helping an elderly man cross the street. Commended. Plus one point.”

Hearing the device speak, the assistant stared at it in awe. ”Brother Zhao Rong, this display you bought is seriously badass. It even has intelligent voice broadcasting!”

Zhao Rong smiled. ”Tell me, which of the high-tech products I’ve bought on Taobao hasn’t been badass?”

The assistant thought for a moment, then said with a hint of embarrassment, ”You’re right, Brother Zhao Rong. Every high-tech gadget you buy from Taobao is the real deal, and totally top-notch.”

Before he could finish, the display’s voice spoke again. ”Voice Alert: Suspect Wang Tao found ten yuan on the ground and handed it to a police officer. A fine example of returning lost property. Plus one point. Total score: two.”

Hearing that Wang Tao had done another good deed, Zhao Rong casually turned off the device. ”He’s done two good deeds in such a short time,” he said, reassured. ”It seems Wang Tao has truly turned over a new leaf.”

Lili, sitting beside him, offered a suggestion. ”Brother Zhao Rong, you should keep the display on for real-time alerts. That way, we’ll know whenever he does something good or bad.”

Zhao Rong shook his head. ”That’s not necessary. Let me tell you, even when it’s not broadcasting, it logs everything he does as text. It even intelligently sorts his actions, putting good deeds and bad deeds into separate files. That makes it crystal clear and easy to review.”

With that settled, Zhao Rong addressed the group. ”Alright, let’s head to the Sports Institute and find President He Yanming. I think once we find the mastermind behind this kidnapping, the whole truth will come to light. And then, we’ll finally catch the corporate spy, Lu Xiaoqiang.”
