The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1350: Chapter 1350: Is He Really Dead?

Wait a minute.

Shu Yu’s face suddenly changed.

The beads of Little Song Le were left at the scene when the Song Family was wiped out; they belonged to the murderer.

And they all had no doubt that the murderer was someone from Gong Qiu.

Now, the steward of the black market also has the same string of beads, indicating that the steward is closely related to the murderer.

If the murderer is someone from Gong Qiu, then is the steward also someone from Gong Qiu?

If we deduce this way, is the real boss behind the black market Gong Qiu????

Shu Yu was also shocked by her own speculation. If the black market is truly related to Gong Qiu, it seems understandable why Steward Guo was unwilling to sell the black market to Meng Yunzheng.

Previously, she and Meng Yunzheng couldn’t figure out what kind of grudge the black market had with him.

Now, it doesn’t seem so surprising.

However, Gong Qiu is dead, he was beheaded last year. But the black market is still operating smoothly, with orders still being issued, even the closure of the Jiangyuan County black market was well-organized.

Before Gong Qiu was beheaded, his identity was verified. The cautious Fifth Prince wouldn’t have let him fake his death.

No... Gong Qiu’s identity was verified, but there’s one person who wasn’t—the Second Prince.

The Second Prince was Gong Qiu’s son, and the late emperor hated him deeply, refusing to spare him.

But only the late emperor knew this; others were unaware. The late emperor couldn’t announce to the world that he was cuckolded.

Thus, the Second Prince remained his son, and even though he hated him, he couldn’t directly order the execution of his ’son’; the imperial court officials wouldn’t agree.

Moreover, the Second Prince had the intent to rebel, but he hadn’t taken any action yet.

Historically, even those princes who acted on their rebellious intentions didn’t necessarily end up being executed.

So, the late emperor merely demoted the Second Prince to a commoner and imprisoned him in a villa.

Of course, both Shu Yu and Meng Yunzheng knew that the late emperor couldn’t possibly keep such a threat alive; he was waiting for an opportunity to have the Second Prince die before him.

And so, at the end of last year, just ten days before the late emperor’s death, an incident suddenly occurred at the villa.

It was said that the Second Prince, in his frustration, crafted a bamboo raft for himself and floated on the villa’s lake.

Who could have expected him to accidentally fall into the water and drown?

But the servants in the villa didn’t discover his body for several days, after all, with the Second Prince being a demoted commoner, he often lacked proper meals, and the servants wouldn’t diligently serve him.

Moreover, since being demoted, the Second Prince’s temper had become quite volatile, and he often beat and scolded the servants.

Over time, the servants became reluctant to approach him, often leaving his meal at his door whenever they remembered, and if they didn’t remember, he would just have to go hungry.

As a result, this time, after delivering meals a few times and noticing they were never taken into the room, the servants found it strange, which prompted them to look around, eventually finding the Second Prince’s body in the lake.

But by then, the Second Prince had already swollen terribly.

Upon learning of this, the late emperor merely had the central judicial office and Forbidden Army confirm the matter and then dealt with the villa’s servants. After that, he had the Second Prince buried hastily.

The world said the Second Prince was dead.

But what if the one who died wasn’t him?

Shu Yu had never considered this possibility before; she thought the Second Prince’s death was definitely orchestrated by the late emperor, with no chance of any accidents.

But if the black market is truly related to him and Gong Qiu, could there be more to the Second Prince’s death?

”Yu, Yu? What are you thinking about?” Yuan Shanchuan was worried when he saw that she hadn’t spoken for a long time but looked quite unwell.
