The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1336: Chapter 1336: Talk to Daniu If You Need Anything

”Thank you, boss.” Everyone cheered.

Shu Yu waved his hand, ”Of course, we still need to keep a few people on duty. Leave two people at each workshop to watch over things. Once they finish their holiday, you can take yours. The stewards will arrange it, or you can coordinate among yourselves.”

”Understood.”

”Alright, come up to collect your wages now.”

Everyone was quite orderly. They jostled a bit but quickly formed a line.

The wages were distributed based on the names written in the employees’ register, and everyone had experience with this, knowing their position in line.

This saved Shu Yu quite a bit of time.

By the time the wages were fully distributed, it was just past noon.

Shu Yu stretched lazily and handed the last of the money to Luo Chun and Ruan Dali. They were the stewards, and their salary had already been raised, so their bonuses were a bit more than the others’.

”Please arrange for everyone to finish up the remaining tasks this afternoon and clean up the workshop. We’ll start the holiday tomorrow.”

”Yes, boss.”

The two were delighted and held their wages tightly as they left.

It was getting late, and Shu Yu only returned after having lunch at the workshop.

Word of her and the Passion Fruit Shop’s business deal had apparently spread, as there was no longer a crowd at the Lu family’s door.

Shu Yu entered the house, and having completed her tasks, she finally got to rest a bit.

She took a bath in her room and enjoyed a comfortable nap. When she woke up again, she went to see Zaozao.

In just four or five days, the little one seemed completely different from when they were born.

Zhou Qiao, while resting after childbirth, watched Shu Yu lean over the cradle, teasing the baby, and couldn’t help but smile, ”Yu, since you like children so much, you should marry Young Master Meng soon and have one yourself.”

Shu Yu shook her head, ”I’m still young. I just reached coming-of-age last year. Having children needs to wait a few more years.”

Still young? Zhou Qiao chuckled; Yu was young in age but mature beyond her years.

Daniu just came in with some chicken soup, ”This is freshly made by Mother. Here, let me feed you a little.”

”No need, I’ll do it myself.” Zhou Qiao was a bit embarrassed and quickly took the bowl herself.

Daniu saw she had no trouble drinking and then turned to Shu Yu, saying, ”I heard the melon seeds were also sold? I’ve been away from the workshop these past few days, leaving you to handle everything. You look like you’ve become thinner from all the work.”

”What are you saying, Brother Daniu? Sister-in-law just had a baby and needed you by her side. Besides, it was just arranging for loading and shipping. I didn’t have to do it myself. I haven’t lost weight at all.”

Though she said this, the mental and physical effort was undeniably taxing.

Daniu also didn’t expect things to coincide like this, with his wife giving birth just as people from the capital and the palace came for business negotiations.

He asked about the situation in the workshop, and once Zhou Qiao finished her chicken soup, he took the bowl out.

After checking on the child, Shu Yu followed him out the door.

At the entrance, she called out to Daniu, ”Brother Daniu, come to the study later, I have something to discuss with you.”

”Eh? Alright.”

After placing the bowl back in the kitchen, Daniu washed his hands and headed to the study.

Shu Yu sat behind the desk with two notebooks in front of her.

When Daniu entered, she pushed the notebooks forward, ”Brother Daniu, take a look at this.”

”Is this... the workshop’s ledger?”

”Yes,” Shu Yu said, ”We’ve sold all the workshop’s inventory. Both Lord Qi and Young Master Ren have placed deposits for the next batch of goods. Our current income isn’t low.”

Daniu’s eyes lit up, and he hurriedly opened the ledger to check it out.
