The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1305: Chapter 1305: The Legendary Shu Yu

Shu Yu smiled, ”That’s quite normal. If it were me, I would also turn around the workshop nearby first. Don’t worry, since they are here, they will come to find me eventually. We’ll just wait.”

”Alright, then I’ll return to the workshop to keep watch.”

”Hmm... when you go back, have Old Yang watch the gate. Regardless of who comes to inquire, just like today, steer the topic away. In short, whatever you say, don’t let it involve the workshop. Also, have a word with the two stewards to make them be more careful, everything else proceeds as usual.”

Daniu nodded, ”Okay, I understand.”

After Daniu left, Shu Yu instructed the two staff at the shop to pay attention, as there might be people coming to inquire in these couple of days.

Shu Yu speculated that they would first hide their identities and visit the workshop, and most likely inquire about her situation in the county town first.

Sure enough, the next day, two strangers came to the shop.

At that time, Shu Yu wasn’t there, but from the description, it was definitely those two.

She thought they would find her in a few days.

Who knew she waited and waited, three days passed and still there was no sign of them.

Shu Yu started to doubt if her guess was wrong, that these two might not be people from the capital.

However, what she didn’t know was that Ren Huai, at that moment, was also doubting the information he had gathered.

”She actually went to her maternal grandfather’s house with an axe and chopped off her uncle’s leg?”

Steward Xu followed him into the lodging inn, closed the door, poured them tea, and said with a sigh, ”This Monarch Lu Xiang is indeed reckless and impulsive.”

Ren Huai rubbed his temples, ”Indeed, I thought with her developing a heating pack and holding sunflower seeds that others haven’t even seen, she would be clever and wise. I didn’t expect her to act so thoughtlessly, solving problems with brute force.”

”Perhaps it’s her youthful vigor. It’s said she just came of age last year. At this age, it’s normal for a girl to be angry at those who sold her away separating her from her parents.”

”Even when angry, one should consider one’s reputation.” Ren Huai didn’t agree with Shu Yu’s actions, being born into a wealthy family, he had seen many dark corners of inner houses.

Not to mention the distant ones, just his cousin, because she was born as a girl and was labeled by fortune-tellers as a disaster to the family. His grandmother tossed her to the mountain just after birth, with luck she survived and was settled in a nunnery.

Grandmother disliked her, so her life even after surviving was bleak. But even under those circumstances, his cousin catered and flattered grandmother for the sake of reputation. Later on, she was married off and still maintained frequent contact with her family because she needed them as backup.

But now Lu Shuyu, being a Village Chief, even if this is a small county town, the reputation of unfilial piety being spread would be very damaging to her.

Steward Xu sighed, ”Speaking of which, this Monarch Lu Xiang’s luck is truly remarkable, exiled to the southwest and met Lord Qi. Through a stroke of luck developed the heating pack, Lord Qi was willing to present it. With Lord Qi’s protection along the way, she indeed can go unchecked in this small county town. When County Magistrate Zhang wanted to cause her trouble, Lord Qi happened to send the Coming-of-age Ceremony gift, intimidating the County Magistrate Zhang into behaving. Even Jiangyuan County’s county magistrate also values her highly.”

”But this protection card from Lord Qi will eventually run out.”

”Young Master, what do we do now?”
