The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Capítulo 1334: Chapter 1334: Melon Seed Deal Sealed

Shu Yu wasn’t aware that a steady stream of visitors were coming to her home. She had gone outside the city to see off Qi Lie.

After returning to the city, she hadn’t gone far when she was stopped by someone.

Seeing Ren Huai’s somewhat anxious expression, Shu Yu smiled slightly and said, “Young Master Ren, is there something you need from me?”

Ren Huai’s smile was somewhat strained, but he still spoke as gently as possible, “Monarch Lu Xiang, a few days ago I had Steward Xu reach out to you, hoping to arrange a time to discuss the melon seeds matter with you. However, you were busy then, and I didn’t want to disturb you further. Might you be available now?”

Shu Yu could easily guess the reason for his change of attitude. The matter of the palace purchasing sunflower oil had been known, even if she didn’t deliberately spread the word.

Ren Huai seemed to be feeling the urgency by now.

Seeing that things had developed to this point, Shu Yu also wanted to finalize this business quickly, so she didn’t bother to keep up any pretense.

She got down from the carriage, noticeably sensing a breath of relief from Ren Huai.

“It just so happens I’m free now. Let’s find a place to discuss this at leisure, Young Master Ren, please.”

“Please.”

This time, they didn’t return to the tea house they first visited but instead found a relatively private tavern nearby and went inside.

In the private room, Ren Huai marveled, “Who would have thought Monarch Lu Xiang could extend her business all the way into the palace?”

Shu Yu had a slightly embarrassed expression, “I was just lucky and had the care of Lord Xiang. It was before the New Year that I presented rare things like melon seeds and sunflower oil to the palace. Who knew the Imperial Physician said that sunflower oil is healthier compared to ordinary edible oils. Only then did the palace send people to have a look. Once they did, they were quite taken with it.”

Ren Huai, surprised, took a sip of tea.

This time, he no longer believed that Monarch Lu Xiang was just lucky. Previously, it was his misjudgment, thinking she achieved her current success by relying on Mister Qi.

But if someone truly only relied on luck, could they expand their business into the palace and make even seasoned merchants like him feel stifled?

Ren Huai now understood why she would partner with someone like Meng Yunzheng. He had originally thought that someone like Meng Yunzheng, with strategic depth and a painful childhood, would only choose simple and transparent people like Monarch Lu Xiang.

Who knew, darn it, that these two were birds of a feather, not easy to trick at all.

Two young people with so much cunning in their minds; they are sure to be extraordinary in the future.

Ren Huai quietly let out a breath, “Monarch Lu Xiang seems to always come up with rare things.”

For instance, the Heating Pack before, and now the melon seeds and sunflower oil.

Shu Yu smiled, “Just lucky, tinkering blindly, and getting things by chance.”

Ren Huai twitched his lips; sure, I believe your nonsense.

Shu Yu wasn’t so easily tricked, and Ren Huai no longer tried to probe with words. He knew there was a large group of people waiting outside Monarch Lu Xiang’s home wanting to do business with her on melon seeds.

So he needed to finalize cooperation details in this meeting.

Ren Huai didn’t haggle over the price, nor did he mention exclusive sales, nor did he bring up any other unexpected demands.

Although he still sought the greatest benefit for himself, his sincerity was sufficient.

Fortunately, Shu Yu already intended to cooperate with them. She had inquired and found that the Passion Fruit Shop indeed had some common merchant issues, but they weren’t unscrupulous and didn’t substitute inferior goods for high-quality ones. They were quite mindful of their image when dealing with customers.

Partnering with them was advantageous for her, so Shu Yu didn’t make things difficult.
