The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1304: Chapter 1304: Daniu’s Guess

Daniu knew the treatment Shu Yu gave Old Yang. Seeing the admiration in Old Yang’s eyes and his radiant spirit, he couldn’t help but admire Yu’s abilities.

He had seen many shopkeepers, some with good temperaments, but he had never seen anyone who valued the gatekeeper so highly.

In many workshops, the gatekeeper was not only a mere decoration but sometimes even the root of problems.

Yu understood this very well, so she was particularly cautious in selecting a gatekeeper.

“By the way, Chief Steward, that young man doesn’t seem like he’s from around here, nor from the prefecture. They look more affluent than anyone I’ve seen before.”

Old Yang spoke, and Daniu was stunned for a moment, raising his eyes to look at the carriage that had completely disappeared, frowning.

Old Yang asked, “Chief Steward, is there a problem?”

Daniu thought for a moment and calculated the time. Although he thought it unlikely, he still paid attention.

He asked Old Yang for details about the two people. Old Yang described their attire, manner of speaking, and the appearance of their carriage.

The time was too short, and he couldn’t stare at them all the time, just a general impression.

Daniu understood, “Old Yang, watch the workshop. If Steward Luo and Steward Ruan ask, just say I’ve gone back to the county town to find the boss. If it’s not urgent, wait until I come back tomorrow.”

“Alright.”

Daniu left, and Old Yang blinked behind him, “My goodness, could there really be something going on?”

Who exactly are those two people, and where did they come from?

Ren Huai, who was being remembered by Old Yang, was sitting in the carriage with a frown, the smile he had when facing Old Yang now vanished.

After getting into the carriage, the man next to him asked, “Young Sir, are we leaving without finding out?”

Ren Huai sneered, “What’s there to ask? That old man was clearly wary of us, we wouldn’t find out anything.”

“So are we going directly to find Monarch Lu Xiang now?”

Ren Huai shook his head, “Steward Xu, you’re too impatient. We can’t find out anything from the workshop, but the county town will surely have news about Monarch Lu Xiang. It’s better to understand thoroughly first. When we discuss business, we’ll have more leverage and initiative.”

Steward Xu said no more. For this trip, the boss instructed him to listen to the Young Sir completely.

After the two of them arrived in the county town, they found an inn to stay temporarily, planning to meet Shu Yu only after they learned everything.

However, what they didn’t know was that Daniu arrived in the county town almost simultaneously with them.

As soon as he entered the city, he went directly to find Shu Yu.

Shu Yu was checking the inventory in the shop. After the New Year, the demand for melon seeds had decreased.

This was expected. She was the only one selling melon seeds, and the price wasn’t low. Ordinary people couldn’t afford them as a casual snack.

Shu Yu didn’t plan to lower the price, at least not for now. People from the capital were coming soon, and if the price was too low, she couldn’t negotiate well.

It was at this time that Daniu came. He found Shu Yu and shared his speculation.

“You said they’ll arrive in about half a month, but it’s already been over ten days. Their arrival seems strange. Could they be from the capital? Are they here to buy melon seeds or sunflower oil?”

Shu Yu was surprised, “Sunflower oil is procured by the palace, they wouldn’t just come over with only two carriages. My guess is they are from that dried fruit shop in the capital, here to purchase melon seeds.”

“Then why did they quietly go to the workshop to inquire with Old Yang? Do they have some other ideas?”
