The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1338: Chapter 1338: Lu Dasong’s Shock

Zhou Qiao’s breathing became slightly rapid; the workshop had just gotten on the right track, and it would only increase in the future. She felt she might soon become a wealthy lady.

Holding the warm silver notes in her hand, she couldn’t help but glance at them repeatedly, then handed them back to Daniu, exhaling, ”Hurry up and keep it safe.”

Daniu laughed and said, ”You are the mistress of our house; this money should be kept by you.”

Zhou Qiao thought for a moment, took out two hundred taels and put them aside, but still stuffed the remaining hundred taels back into his arms, ”I’ll keep this, and you decide what to do with the rest. You walk outside and can’t be without money; I’m still in confinement, unable to go out, and in any case, you’ll be the one to buy whatever we need.”

”There’s no need for so much.”

Zhou Qiao was silent for a moment, then slowly held his hand and softly said, ”In the past, when we didn’t have much money, we couldn’t bear to spend even a little bit, especially after I became pregnant, just thinking of saving whatever we could so the child could live easier in the future. Now suddenly we’ve got such a large sum, we should spend where needed, especially on Father and Mother.”

Daniu was stunned; actually, every month after receiving his wages, he would give a portion for household expenses to his parents.

After all, being the eldest son in the family, with parents getting older, he should still fulfill his filial duty.

It’s simply because he wasn’t living together with his parents now, otherwise, in undivided households, the majority would be for the parents, with just a bit left for oneself.

”Take this; these days I’ve been in confinement, and Mother has always been buying fish and meat out of her own pocket.” Although Madam Li did this to feed the grandchild well, she indeed benefited.

Daniu smiled and put the silver notes away, ”I understand.”

Carrying a hundred taels, Daniu went out again.

Just as he walked out the door, he saw Lu Dasong sauntering over. Seeing Daniu, he quickly beckoned to him, ”Has Zaozao fallen asleep? If not, bring the child out so I can see.”

Lu Dasong usually stayed in Shangshi Village; he only came over a few days ago for the child’s first bath.

Initially, he was going to return after the bath, but the little granddaughter was so adorable, he was reluctant to leave. Besides, Madam Li was also there, and there wasn’t much to do at home, so he stayed a few extra days.

Daniu shook his head helplessly, ”Just fell asleep.”

Lu Dasong frowned immediately, looking very disappointed.

Daniu, ”Dad, didn’t you look three times today?”

Lu Dasong paused, had it been that many times?

An inexplicable trace of awkwardness flashed across his face, and he quickly changed the subject, ”Where are you off to?”

”I was just looking for you.”

”Looking for me for what?” Lu Dasong asked, puzzled.

The father and son walked toward the nearby garden as they spoke.

Once they were inside the pavilion, Daniu smiled and said, ”Did Yu just manage to close two major deals this time?”

”Hmm.” Of course, such a big event, Lu Dasong knew.

”Yu said that at the end of the previous year, when the workshop had just started, there wasn’t any profit-sharing. Now that there’s income, the profits have been allocated to me.”

”Oh? How much did you get?”

”Including bonuses, three hundred taels.”

”How much?!” Lu Dasong asked, incredulous, ”Th-three hundred taels? That much?”

Daniu nodded; he wouldn’t tell Madam Li about this matter, but he had no problem sharing it with his dad.

Sure enough, Lu Dasong laughed heartily, excitedly patting his shoulder, ”Good, well done. Your mother always said Yu was unfair to you; see, I told her Yu wouldn’t treat you poorly.”
