My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1586: Chapter 1380: Smile

”Mom and Dad, how are Grandpa and Grandma doing now? When I came home, there was no one there. Just as I was about to go out to find you, Grandpa came back. But I could see that he wasn’t particularly happy, so I asked him what happened. When he told me about the situation, although I was a bit shocked, I knew I couldn’t panic.

Because I have a heavy burden on my shoulders, I need to go through things others might not experience. You probably didn’t expect it, but this time, I’ve completed all the tasks in advance again. After going through grueling training like a devil, the secret bases at home and abroad are no longer suitable for my training. I need to find Uncle to implement stronger training for me.”

Zhang Yichen didn’t expect his son to once again surpass the tasks set for him, bringing another surprise. He never imagined his son would grow up so quickly. Seeing his son taller than before, their hearts were filled with pride. How could they not be happy to see their child becoming more sensible every day?

But why, during his child’s growth process, did such an unexpected event happen to his parents? Should he feel happy or sad? Perhaps it’s a mix of both.

”Nai’er, Dad really didn’t expect that you would surpass your task like before, and even faster than before. You truly are Dad’s pride. But now, Grandpa and Grandma are lying in that room, and no one can go in and talk to them. Their lives are hanging by a thread. Maybe Dad won’t be able to give you any rewards right now, but I hope you can wait until the day Grandpa and Grandma wake up. Dad will give you all the rewards. Maybe you don’t care about these things, since you’ve never received them, but even though you’re a child, you hope to get a reward from your parents because it’s a recognition of your growing up!”

Zhang Ni had to admit that what his father said today really hit home. No matter how resilient he was over the years, no matter how hard he worked time and time again to reach his goals, he still hoped his parents would comfort him when he got hurt.

But they never did because his parents always gave him the strictest training.

His parents wanted him to know that only by repeatedly getting back up could he walk a different path and reach the goals he wanted, so he wouldn’t lose control over his destiny because of certain events.

But how could Zhang Yichen not know his son’s innermost thoughts? Don’t all children hope for a reward from their parents after succeeding again and again? Every child wants their parent’s approval as a special honor, a sign that in their parent’s eyes, they are their pride.

But Zhang Ni is very sensible. When his dad said these words to him, he remained calm under pressure and said, ”Dad, it’s okay. As long as Grandpa and Grandma get better, what does it matter to us?

You can reward me anytime. I can continue to work hard and ask for rewards from Dad the next time. Can’t I? Right now, the only thing we can do is take good care of Grandpa and Grandma, hoping they will wake up soon and not leave us here alone. Otherwise, you’d look lonely, and I’d feel very sad inside.”

Zhang Yichen patted Zhang Ni’s head. He didn’t expect his son to have grown so much overseas during these two years. He hadn’t seen his son for a full two years and was waiting for him to come home. He always thought it would be months before his son returned, but he didn’t expect all the courses to finish so early. How could his heart not feel proud?

”Good kid, you truly are Dad’s pride. But now, the only thing we can do is wait, wait for a miracle to happen, to see if Heaven will open its eyes and see how hard my parents are struggling against fate today!

Dad knows you’re worried about Grandpa and Grandma just like us. Even though you say you dislike them and don’t want them around, deep down, you still love them. You wish they could be beside you. Dad understands all your feelings!

Sometimes, Dad might be too strict with you. After this year, you’ll already be eight years old!

You should really grow up. Compared to your peers, you’ve matured in many ways and handled more things than anyone else. But you’ve never complained, because you believe you can create the life you want, reach the pinnacle you aim for, and, one day, fulfill your dreams.”

Zhang Ni wasn’t thinking about anything now; he just wanted his grandparents to wake up soon. Seeing his parents’ eyes filled with bloodshot lines, knowing they hadn’t slept all night, he didn’t want them to suffer like this anymore. He couldn’t bear to see his parents exhausted again and again.

”Dad, I believe a miracle will happen. Please rest now. Your eyes are already bloodshot; if Grandpa and Grandma wake up and see you like this, they’ll worry and feel hurt. I’ll watch over them here, and if there’s any sign of movement, I’ll call you immediately, so just take a little nap!”

Yes, deep down, Zhang Yichen believes a miracle will happen, trusting that Heaven is fair and watches over him. Perhaps he really should preserve his energy, so things won’t become so tiresome. He wants his parents to know he’s always by their side, that they can’t let their health deteriorate. If his parents wake up and see him like this, how could they not feel heartache for their child?

”Okay, Nai’er, you watch over them here for a moment. Dad and Mom will sit here and take a short nap. You must be careful, and if there’s anything wrong with Grandpa and Grandma, wake us immediately. If anything unexpected happens, quickly call the doctor, okay?”

”Don’t worry, Dad. I’ll be careful. I’m not a little kid anymore. Rest assured, take a break. When you wake up, Grandpa and Grandma might just be awake too. Don’t you believe Grandpa and Grandma will surely wake up?”
