My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1560: Chapter 1354: Happiness or Not

Zhang Ni and Zhang Yichen, they may have heard about their grandparents’ stories before, but they never thought the situation could be so complicated. They assumed their father was simply making mistakes repeatedly, hurting others, without ever experiencing what it felt like to be hurt. Yet everything he’d been feeling was already experienced long before. It was his wife who made him realize the pain, back when she was the love of his life. The beloved person inflicted the greatest wound upon him, and he could only watch in silence, terrified that speaking out would lead to losing everything.

”Grandpa, I used to hear about your story, but I never imagined it would be as you said it was. You and grandma sacrificed so much to be together, yet all your sacrifices eventually meant nothing to her. She didn’t see your love as genuine sincerity; she took all your sacrifices for granted.

Even if you were happy together at that time, as time went by, the past youth was gone forever. Everyone had their experiences and changes deep inside themselves. He no longer wanted to spend his days with you devotedly like he used to; he no longer wished to stay by your side as before. Why do you stubbornly hold on for him? Reflect on all you’ve sacrificed for him; isn’t it enough? How much more do you have to give before you feel at ease?

I know as a junior in this matter, I have no reason or qualification to intervene. But do you know how difficult it has been to get here, how much we worry about you, and how many are saddened by your actions?

What is meant to happen will happen, and what is not meant to happen ultimately will not. How many beautiful women are out there? Do not become a fool trying to force it!

I believe you must have heard these words. You’ve heard them, so why not act accordingly? Even if you forcibly keep her by your side, what kind of ending will you get? Will her heart sincerely want to be with you? It won’t. When a woman changes her heart, she will not choose to stay with you. In her heart, you no longer have a place, and no matter how much you give, it’s just a game to her without any guilt for your actions.”

”What you say is all true; I understand it well. But there are things I cannot do. She is still my wife as long as legally recognized; I won’t give her up. Regardless of her love for me, my love for her is sufficient. You might find it absurd, feel my love is beyond salvation, but I am only doing it for her. For her, I’d willingly become a demon. Feeling criticized by poets time after time, I still don’t want to abandon her completely. I long for her change of heart; I give her hope time and time again, but she always repays me with despair. Sometimes, I don’t understand the meaning behind my actions, nor do I understand why I sacrifice so much.

I constantly try to give up on her, but when I see her crying in pain, my heart feels as if it’s being cut. I can’t forgive myself; I can’t forgive myself for causing such pain to her. I just want her life to be peaceful, yet everything I do cannot give her such an ending. Sometimes, I deeply regret; I hate my life’s choices. I can’t understand why I became this way, even for her, losing all boundaries!

Many believe my love for her is beyond redemption, others think I’ve lost all boundaries. One hurt after another, her mercilessness always repays me. But I still give her my sincere love, believing that sincerity might lead to a genuine response from her, even if only once or for a brief moment. But I eventually realize her sincerity towards me is forever just a use. Even when she uses my sincerity, I treat it as her authentic sincerity. You might find me foolish, naive, or stupid, but I believe one day you will feel the same way as I do.”

”You’re right. In my eyes, your love for her has turned into harmful indulgence. The more you indulge, the more recklessly she behaves. I don’t understand what drives you to indulge her without limits, nor do I understand the purpose behind it all. But I hope you’ll consider seriously what impact your actions have on the family. Even if you don’t care, think others can endure her harm; remember this affects the entire family. Can’t every family member be hurt by her repeatedly? She never acknowledges her mistakes, always shifting blame. Both of you are like this. Now, you’re willing to face the truth, willing to voice everything, but she might not be.

I think you should unveil the truth earlier. If you let things drag on like this, it won’t end well for anyone, and only pulls you deeper into it. Why tire each other this way? You only seek a stable life, but is this truly a stable life? Is this the life you want? You’ve ruined everything, what have you brought to your family?

I don’t ask you to look elsewhere, just look at your own son, at your father. Observe these people closely. Because of your past actions, what kind of pain have they suffered? They now fear you profoundly; the fear stems from deep within the soul, fearing being hurt and abandoned by you again. And that’s all you’ve given them. Are you still unwilling to sincerely repent, unwilling to declare to the world your mistakes? Are you still unwilling to reveal the truth, admitting you abandoned your own family?”
