My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1567: Chapter 1361: Hometown

Who doesn’t have their own family, their own hometown, feeling like every step is merely a repetition of the path they least want to take? No matter what this path has done to their life, they have never regretted it.

Xia Jing said from the beginning, he knew his husband loved him deeply, yet he never imagined his husband’s love could reach such heights. Sometimes, when thinking about all the things he did, deep inside, he was indeed touched. He had hurt him before, but he was willing to give everything to love him, willing to forsake everything for him. How could he be unimportant, how could he not care about this?

Perhaps Teacher Zeng demanded too much of himself, causing everything to slowly deviate from his most beloved ending. Yet, did he really know what he was doing? Abandoning everything, severing ties with his own son, he lost much more than just minor things. But why did he never know to cherish it, always waiting until everything disappeared, always waiting until the people he cared about most left him, only then did he realize that what he wanted was merely a simple life.

Sometimes when I calm down and think about my life, think about the wrongs I did, think about the harm I brought to everyone in my family, I can’t believe this was my most important thing. I made everything more and more absurd, I made everything increasingly extreme, so the path I took led everything away from my original heart.

”Zhentian, I really feel sorry for you. I never thought I would become like I am today. I wish we could stay in those happy times forever. All I wanted was a steady and secure life, but why did it end up like this? I am so afraid, afraid that everything I face is the heaviest pain. I never have any way to forget what you gave me. You gave everything to me, sincerely protecting me, but did you know, when everything came crashing down, I realized how much you sacrificed for me. Yet, I never felt it was for my good. I never cherished you until I lost you, realizing I was wrong, making you into the worst version of yourself.”

”Honestly, sometimes I really don’t understand why I did so many hurtful things to you, and yet you never gave up on me. All my irresponsibility was exposed inside me, you know? When everything changed, when everything became the worst version of me, do you know how sad I felt deep inside? I never once thought about the life I wanted until I was left with this pain.”

”You truly loved me with all your heart, wanting to give me all your love, yet you forgot, while giving me all your love, I chose to hurt you. From the moment I hurt you, we were no longer fit to be husband and wife.”

”I won’t allow you to say such things. No matter what, I will never let go of you. I will always keep everything in my heart, every moment and place will never change. You can’t understand my love for you, and I can’t reciprocate your sincerity. We both need time to calm down and think about how we should live our lives. I don’t want the paths we take to drift apart, I don’t want you to leave my side!

If one’s family must separate one day, I would rather be that person. Once, I abandoned my family, I don’t mind doing it again. I am always selfish, giving up everything for myself. You can test me, but never think I’m doing it for you. I just want you to have your own place in this home, for everyone to genuinely accept you. That would be enough for me.”

”You two are sitting here saying these things, where does that leave me as a father? When did you ever care that I, as a father, need my children’s companionship? Why treat me like this? Even if you feel this way, can’t you refrain from saying it in front of me? Leave me a little dignity, even just a little I’ll be grateful. Why do you treat me this way, time and again, pouring pain onto me, making me bear all this pain?

You’re both particularly cruel. Why do you treat me this way? Treat me a little better, even a little gratitude from you wouldn’t bring this about. Perhaps in your eyes, I’m not worthy of being your father. It was you who abandoned me, not me forcing you away. Why don’t you understand it now, when will this ever become the way we imagine it to be? Why repay me this way?

I have to say, even if I have nothing, even in his house where I have no place, I don’t want you to treat me this way, do you understand? I am the head of the family. From the moment you left this house, you cut ties with your family. You choose to return wanting us to accept you again. After we do, what gives you the right to choose to hurt us again? Are we really so insignificant, or is our life in your eyes so worthless, tossed around with your whims, happy when you return, devastated when you leave? Does such change really amuse you, or for what reason?

Every word you said today, I remember clearly. No matter where and when, you are no longer my son, nor deserving to be. I don’t have a son like you. Everything you do is something no family member would do. You will never understand how painful it is for a father.”

Old Master Zhang didn’t want to waste more words with his child here. He quickly left this spot. He didn’t want to stay in the living room where every moment felt suffocating!

When my hand grips your hand tightly, never letting go, you should understand how deep my feelings are for you...
