My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1547: Chapter 1341: Longing

Do you know, pain is because you want to forget someone.

Do you know the taste of missing someone? It’s like drinking a cup of cold water, and it takes a very long time.

This day was the happiest day for Zhang Zhentian and Xia Jing. They got up in the morning, not too early, but they made breakfast for their family. Their hearts were filled with happiness. They had never made a meal for anyone in their family before, so they didn’t know what their family actually liked to eat or preferred flavors. They could only choose suitable seasonings based on their occasional observations.

Zhang Yichen and Old Master Zhang got up to find the table already set for breakfast. They didn’t understand where this breakfast came from, as none of them ever got up this early to make breakfast. They slept so soundly last night that they forgot they had to get up and make breakfast the next morning. By the time they opened their eyes, the sun was already high, and they didn’t expect to wake up and find a free breakfast.

...

Everyone sat around the dining table, surrounding it completely, and began eating breakfast. This breakfast was a happy one and could also be considered an apologetic breakfast!

”Yichen, I’m sorry. For so many years, you never had breakfast made by your mom and dad. I hope you like this first one and don’t find fault with it. If there’s anything unsuitable with the seasoning, you can tell us, and we’ll try to change it. We don’t exactly know what flavors you prefer, so we tried making each kind once. You can see which one you like best, and when you want to eat it again, just tell us, and we’ll make it for you every day.”

Zhang Yichen felt that he must be hallucinating. How could his parents think of making him breakfast? They hadn’t even accompanied him much over the years. Was this breakfast really made by them? Could it be that they just got it from a random restaurant outside and placed it here, claiming they made it? He wouldn’t be fooled so easily!

”Dad, over these years, you’ve lived with my son, and I haven’t been there for you. Can you forgive us and let us return to this family? We are really happy now. Let this breakfast serve as an apology. If you are willing to forgive us and sincerely let us return home, please accept this apology. If not, there’s nothing I can do, I just hope we can all live peacefully!”

”Zhentian, I never thought I’d eat a breakfast made by you in this lifetime. It’s been so many years, and this is the first time. No matter the purpose of this breakfast, I’ll accept it. You’re my good son; there’s something I’ve buried in my heart. You once asked me if you were my pride, and though I didn’t answer then, I now want to tell everyone that no matter what you do or where you go, you’ll always be my pride, because you’re my son, only my pride, and my only child in this lifetime!”

I feel proud because I have you as my son, and feel proud of the perfect grandson you’ve brought into this world. In our Zhang family, each generation surpasses the previous. Let the Zhang family prosper more in the future. The century-old reputation wasn’t destroyed by you, and despite the past, here we are now. You know what kind of days you lived, and we won’t speak of them anymore. Now that you’ve chosen to return to the family, let’s be a family from now on, and don’t talk about apologies anymore. It’s too much dwelling on past matters!”

This morning, Zhang Yichen was deeply moved by his parents’ actions. How he longed for his parents to make him a rich breakfast! Even a simple bun would bring him immense happiness. He longed for a day when everyone could have breakfast together like today. After waiting for so many years, he finally attained what he longed for. But how should he face other challenges his family brings him in the future?

”Mom and Dad, since Grandpa has chosen to forgive you, what’s the use of me speaking as the younger generation? Now that you know where your mistakes lie, I only hope you won’t repeat them, nor let Grandpa be saddened. You may choose to hurt me, but you can’t hurt Grandpa, because he owes you nothing, he’s your elder. If you have grievances, you can take them out on me, I’m willing to accept all your abandonments!”

”Come on, today is the first reunion meal we’ve had after much effort. After finishing this meal, it doesn’t seem as delicious as imagined, and maybe the taste wasn’t great. Despite this, let’s not dwell on past troubles. Isn’t it wonderful to happily share a meal together?”

We must always remember this moment. It’s the moment our family is truly reunited, the moment our family gathers for a reunion meal, the first harmonious meal we’ve had in so many years. It should be the most memorable day. Let’s remember today, this moment, and everyone’s expressions at this time.

Zhang Yichen knew how deeply excited his father was internally. He didn’t interrupt or dismiss his father’s proposals because this moment was what he had longed for him deeply, for a long time. He hoped to make this moment everlasting, such harmony, such happiness, everyone finally united, feeling what a true family is.

”As long as you’ve thought things through, that’s good. Now that you’ve returned home, returned to this harbor of love, don’t leave in a huff anymore, nor casually decide to leave home and wander for a few days, because then you might never return. Do you understand?” Old Master Zhang couldn’t help but tell Zhang Zhentian and Xia Jing.

Warm tears flowed one by one, yet they remained painful!
