My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1546: Chapter 1340: Waiting

Who was looking at whom for a second, and thus they left a profound legend between them. He waited for him for a whole 10,000 years, but in the end, all he got was loneliness.

Zhang Yichen never thought his son could possess such capability deep inside. He believed his son wouldn’t do such a thing, but when he heard what his son said, he realized all these years he had misunderstood. In fact, his son’s innermost being was quite extraordinary. Inside his son’s heart, if he wanted to sever family ties easily, he could do it. He could disregard everyone at home, not caring for anyone’s wellbeing. As long as he and the people he cared about were happy, that’s enough for him. Can he simultaneously consider everyone’s feelings and tolerance from a public perspective?

”I really didn’t expect there would come a day when you’d use such a way to threaten your father. Yes, your grandparents indeed made many mistakes. You don’t need to lay the whole bloody truth before me; I know it. When I demanded the destruction of all those pieces of evidence, I knew they’d eventually be uncovered, but I never thought it’d be my own son. I least expected my son would use such a thing to bargain with me. Maybe deep in your heart, I’m not a good father or a good husband, but deep in your mother’s heart, I’m the man she loves most in her life. If you really care for your mother and don’t want her to complain about you when you grow up, if you don’t want you and your mother to turn against each other, don’t use this way to threaten me. Your threats mean nothing; instead, they endanger the genuine bond between you and your mother.

You know what your mother has done over the years, and you know how much she has sacrificed. If you let her entire life be ruined here just because of a small mistake you made.

Do you think your decision is correct? Do you think what you’ve done is worthy of your mother’s years of effort? She gave everything for this family, but because of your words, all is buried here, all her sacrifices rendered futile, as if she never tried. Are you truly okay with your mother’s effort meaning nothing? Worthless in the eyes of others? You are her son; no matter when or where, you should consider your mother’s interests, not do things that hurt her. It’s a hurt to everyone; you should really think it over!

Don’t always act willfully, doing your own things. Perhaps not everything you do is correct, but the love from family is real. If your mistake causes everyone at home to lose trust in you, it’s not worth it. I hope you don’t end up like your grandparents, regretting their actions later, questioning why they chose such a path, why they made those irreversible mistakes. By then, it’ll be too late.”

”What life path I choose has nothing to do with you. I hope you realize that. I’m not sure what benefit you think comparing me to your parents would have? Every time you compare me with them, I feel uneasy. They are your parents, not my life road. My choices are entirely different. I didn’t abandon my child; I didn’t even marry. How could I follow their same path? Why haven’t you understood my actions yet? You are my father, yet you don’t even have the basic understanding and trust in your son?

All you’ve done is just to control, making me follow you without considering I am a person; I need independent space too.

Sometimes I hope you could see from my perspective, consider my difficulties. Right now, I don’t want anything else; I just want my mother to wake up. Is that too much to ask? You might not care about her, but I do. You might treat her as just a mom, easily tossed aside, but I can’t. She’s my mother.

Deep down, no matter how she changes, she will forever be my birth mother. Even if she lives erratic her whole life, she’s still my mother. I never thought of abandoning her, nor of changing this fate. What I can do is stay by her side. You want the grandparents to come, then hurry them back to the country. Rest assured, for your dignity, I won’t say anything to them.

Do you think by saying nothing, I’ll know nothing? Inside, you actually care more about your image than your grandparents do. Your pride is stronger than anyone’s. People argue since childhood; I’ve received enough ridicule too. I’ve never hated anyone for it. Everyone’s decisions were forced. No one wants to abandon their children, stay away forever, or wander as lonely souls. I hope you’ll consider your grandparents’ position, why impose the results you don’t want to see upon them, letting them bear that pain?

Perhaps you should ponder what you’ve done, said, that hurt my mom so much to become like this. You’ve never regretted your actions, nor the harm done to my mom. All you’ve got is what you truly desired deep down. You’re the one who stops at nothing for your selfish gains.

Ask yourself, is this the outcome you wanted? You destroyed everyone’s happiness due to a selfish choice, forcing everyone to endure hurt again.”

He looked at him for a second, turned around, and took away the whole legend, whether it’s written or sketched, aren’t they the same? Who ends up leaving as a scarecrow at last?
