My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1521: Chapter 1315: No One Is Truly Indifferent

The faint memory of you from before, back to back listening to the sound of the sea, the sunset and the sea surface were too clear, the moment I found you there, I was very happy, because you are the one destined for me.

Old Master Zhang was outside the door listening to the conversation between his son and daughter-in-law. He had been listening for so long, but he still couldn’t hear a single right sentence.

He always thought his son was a very emotionally intelligent person, but he didn’t realize that his son was actually so foolish. Should a woman really be treated this way? If this is the way, then why do other women hide whenever they see him?

He really couldn’t hold it in anymore; he truly stood up. He pushed the door open and stood in his son’s bedroom, looking at his son and daughter-in-law, wanting to give them a good lecture.

”Dad, why are you here?” Zhang Zhentian and Xia Jing asked in unison the moment they saw Old Master Zhang push the door open and come in.

”Why can’t I come? If I don’t come, when will you two stop? I’ve been listening outside for so long, and neither of you recognizes your own mistakes, is that it?

Zhang Zhentian, don’t you even have the most basic dignity and backbone a son of mine should have? If a woman doesn’t love you, she doesn’t love you, no matter how much you give to her, she won’t fall in love with you. Since that’s the case, why do you shamelessly want to be with her? He doesn’t have you in his heart, no matter how much you give, you’re willing to give up your life for her, but will he really see you as the person he loves the most?

Nnever, because deep down, he already belongs to someone else, and you’ll never be able to win her heart in this lifetime!

A happy marriage needs to be managed by two people, but for a happy marriage, the relationship must be deep, and trust must be sufficient between each other. Do you two think you still have that deep affection and the most basic trust in each other now? You’re both suspicious of each other; do you really think this is happiness?

I never thought the child I raised with such hard work would be so foolish. I could accept that you didn’t want to learn your business skills because you have a natural talent, but why can’t you learn even the most basic stuff? Don’t you know how to protect your dignity? You allow your wife to point at your nose and scold you indirectly time after time, and you? You can only apologize to him again and again. Do you really think that will make him have a softer heart?”

Xia Jing felt embarrassed at his father’s words, he could only smile foolishly, but her smile angered Old Master Zhang.

”Why are you smiling there? Do you find it amusing that your husband sacrifices everything for you time after time, even willing to risk his life? Are you truly heartless? Don’t you feel anything in your heart about how your husband treats you? Wouldn’t trying to be with him, to accept him, bring you happiness too?

Sometimes, don’t attach too much importance to certain things, because it may make you feel happy, but for those around you, it’s a form of suffering.

Perhaps you still haven’t realized what you did wrong in the past. You hid your feelings, but you hurt my son, entrapping him in emotional turmoil from which he can never extricate himself in this lifetime.

Do you think you’re happy with him? Do you truly want this life that you’ve chosen for yourself? Have you ever thought about how you should lead this life? Each time you make such decisions, you wonder about the outcomes!”

”I really can’t figure out why you, a married couple, have to be tangled in this matter day and night. I hear my son’s pleading tone over and over, begging you to try dating him, and yet you remain heartless, without even a simple smile or respect toward him!

No matter what, you are both a married couple; you are legally recognized as such. Do you really think this constant fighting is appropriate? Time and again seeing your other half lower their head, do you truly feel happy and joyous?

Sometimes you think everything he does for you is just natural. When you slowly get used to his kindness and one day he suddenly changes, you’ll think he’s different, that the whole world’s abandoned you.

But has he really changed? Did he truly abandon you? He’s just been hurt too much by you; he doesn’t know how to talk to you anymore and can only choose to present himself as a hedgehog, lashing out as protection against being hurt again in a lifetime. You never thought about what he has gone through; you only know what you want and what you can’t give him, she can’t give you, but can you not take into account her sacrifices and give her some happiness, allow yourself to be happy too?

I know there are things I shouldn’t say outright, but I hope you think it through well. It’s only by making decisions carefully that you won’t regret them. If you casually make a decision that you’ll regret for the rest of your life, then what’s the point of making that decision?”

Xia Jing and Old Master Zhang feel that his father is quite right.

Xia Jing wondered if he’s truly as heartless as steel. Why, when her husband lowers himself time and time again to say those touching words, does she choose silence? Why does she always refuse and escape when her husband lowers his head?

Sometimes, looking at two photos, she feels her temperament is akin to being heartless. No matter how much she gives, it’s not worth mentioning in his eyes. He will never change his opinion because of her efforts, only knowing her sacrifices were for naught against his heart of stone. This grievance pains her insides.

Remembering that rainy day, tears in her eyes, the memories of everything clearly appearing before her mind’s eye, yet she still discarded you. Now she doesn’t know where to find you or where you are.
