My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1508: Chapter 1302: Devotion

Originally, everyone thought that as long as they sincerely prayed about this matter, such a result would not occur, but no one expected that the final outcome would still happen.

Xiao Wei, in the end, couldn’t resist calling his brother-in-law. He felt that no matter what, this matter should be clarified with Zhang Zhentian. He wanted him to earnestly give him the perfect answer; otherwise, how could he safely entrust his sister to him, to live under the same roof with him?

”Xiao Wei? What made you think of calling your brother-in-law today? Do you have something you need to discuss with your brother-in-law? Or is there another reason why you suddenly thought of giving me a call to ask how I am?

Are you looking for your sister? She’s not here right now, she’s busy with something. If you have something to tell her, you can tell me, and I’ll pass it on for you.”

”Brother-in-law, I really shouldn’t be calling to ask you about this. I just want the most complete answer. I just want you to honestly tell me, do you truly love my sister? Because I will soon be returning to the United States. If you truly have my sister in your heart, then I will let her stay by your side to continue living with you, but if you don’t love her in your heart at all, then leaving her here would hurt her, wouldn’t it?

I believe deep down you actually understand that some things can’t be so easily ignored as if they never happened. Your father might currently feel satisfied with having you back in the family home, but if one day you make a mistake again, will you be driven out once more?

Can you really assure me that you’ll give my sister a stable home? Can you really assure that no matter what, you won’t be driven out of the family again?

Or do you think that sometimes being thrown out of the house is a very honorable thing, that being expelled allows you to roam freely around the world, but you forget that what a woman needs most is not how capable her man is, but the desire for him to give her the happiest home? You know better than anyone what you’ve given my sister over these years!

I believe by coming to you with these questions today, you also understand my reasons. After all, she is my sister, and you know we’ve been through hard times together, relying on each other for many years. Living until today is really not easy, but ever since she met you and fell for you at first sight, how have you treated her? You’ve made her unable to go home, made people resent her time and time again.

Brother-in-law, I hope you won’t tell my sister what I’ve said today. If she knew, it would only make things harder for her. We need to keep making her happy and joyful, for she is the most important to us, isn’t she?”

Zhang Zhentian understands clearly what outcomes these years have brought to his wife. Even if she doesn’t say a single word, how could he not feel how much his wife wants to return to this home, to her child? He knows it better than anyone else.

But ultimately, he made her drift outside with himself all these years. Not a moment goes by when she doesn’t miss her child, but all of this suffering and pain were caused by him. No one understands how deep this feeling of guilt truly runs.

”Xiao Wei, I know you care deeply for your sister, but no matter what, do you think I should hide these things from your sister today? I don’t want to disrupt things between you two. I hope for nothing hidden between me and my wife, shouldn’t we always be honest with each other?

You know better than anyone that if I treated your sister harshly, and she discovered the truth, she would feel deeply hurt and believe that I, as her husband, didn’t love her, which is why I hid things from her!

I’m not afraid to admit it; deep down, I really love your sister. No matter when, I still feel that I love her deeply.

My love for your sister won’t be shaken by anything or anyone’s words; I only want to prove with my actions that I truly love her and sincerely want to be with her. Even if others try to stop us, it won’t work. No one can change my devotion to her, no matter who tries to come between us.

Xiao Wei, sometimes in matters of the heart, you understand better than I do. Loving someone is to protect her at all costs, to stay by her side, no matter how much she’s hurt you; you still love her, and you’ll never change. That’s what true love is. My love for your sister even surpasses this. For her, I can give up everything. If she’s living unhappily in this house, feeling wronged, I would take her and leave far away, never returning to this sorrowful place, even if my father, my son, and my family are here!

Perhaps you think that leaving years ago was my fault, that I shouldn’t have taken her away, but did you ever think that she was the one who proposed it? After giving birth, she didn’t want to live here anymore. She wanted to leave, and that’s why I resolutely left with her, to keep her from being troubled here. Why is everything now considered my fault? To protect her, I chose to take all the blame upon myself. I wanted everyone to know that my love for her is sincere, that whatever mistakes she made, I would rather take all the blame than let her suffer even the slightest harm!

But what was the result of my actions? Repeated doubts from all of you. You don’t believe that my efforts are a true expression of love. In your eyes, everything I do is just pretence. But do you know how much I care about her feelings? For her, I’ve sacrificed so, so much.

Today’s phone call from you shows me that you truly want to help your sister and are doing it for her good. I won’t blame you for this, and I won’t tell your sister, but from now on, let’s not doubt each other anymore, okay? We’re family. Wherever, whenever, I will prioritize your sister’s welfare, and protect her from any harm. That’s what a man should provide her with for her happiness!”

At least at that moment, your sincerity was achieved, and that was the happiest moment of my life.
