This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

When the kidney lacks essence, it lacks Yin. When there is no Yin to connect the large and small intestines, the intestines will become dry, resulting in mutual pain. If there is no source of water upstream, there will be danger of drought downstream. The more dry and painful the upper part, the more urgent the bowel movement below.”

Having said that, Du Heng looked at Wei Kaida with disdain. ”Now tell me, did I lie to you? Aren’t these words straight from medical books and basic theories?”

Wei Kaida didn’t argue this time, staring blankly at Du Heng.

He couldn’t believe that he, a thirty-year-old young man, was about to step into the life of a sixty-year-old.

After a long time, Wei Kaida looked at Du Heng again. ”Brother, since you can find the cause, you must have a solution, right?”

Du Heng said leisurely, ”Yes.”

The single word, heard by Wei Kaida, was like heavenly music, and he immediately stood up excitedly. ”Brother, tell me quickly.”

But Du Heng waved his hand gently. ”I do have a solution, but I need to make it clear to you beforehand.”

”You speak; I’m listening.”

”Your problem can be cured; there is a solution.”

Wei Kaida’s face immediately showed a smile, but Du Heng continued, ”However, during the treatment, you have to completely abstain from sex.”

”Definitely, definitely! I won’t even use my hands when going to the toilet,” Wei Kaida was extremely happy.

What’s the harm in giving up for a while for the sake of future happiness? He could still tell the difference between momentary happiness and lifelong happiness.

”Listen to me,” Du Heng interrupted Wei Kaida’s joy again. ”Even after the cure, you can’t be as indulgent as before; you need to be restrained.”

Wei Kaida suddenly froze. ”What do you mean?”

”It means that in the future, for those kinds of things, once or twice a week is appropriate. And as you age, the number of times needs to decrease. Any more, and your two Waist can’t handle it. If you relapse, you’ll have to live a solitary life, only able to watch, and never have a chance to regain your former glory.”

Wei Kaida paused for a moment, then said, ”No problem, as long as I don’t become a eunuch now, I’m very happy. And I’m getting married soon, so I won’t need that many times in the future.

”From now on, I want to be a good husband devoted to my family.”

Du Heng immediately retorted, ”Gross.”

”Don’t say that, brother, I’m speaking from the heart.”

”It seems to me that you’re just compromising after finding your abilities insufficient. Otherwise, I really don’t believe a dog can change its habit of eating shit.”

Wei Kaida, knowing there was hope for him, had adjusted his mentality and laughed off Du Heng’s disdain.

”Brother, write the prescription quickly. The longer it takes, the more scared I am. And I really need to use the restroom now, so hurry up.”

”Pen and paper,” Du Heng stated.

Immediately Wei Kaida got up like a dogleg to find pen and paper. ”Sir, your pen and paper are here.”

Du Heng took the pen and quickly finished writing.

Wei Kaida looked at the words on the paper, then turned to Du Heng with a constipated expression.

Du Heng tossed the pen aside and laughed. ”What’s wrong?”

Wei Kaida’s mouth twitched. ”Brother, don’t fool me like this.”

”Why do you say that?”

”Such a big problem of mine, and you only prescribe three medicines. Isn’t that a bit perfunctory?”

Du Heng crossed his legs again and said confidently, ”It’s not about the amount of medicine; it’s about its effectiveness.”

”You’d better explain it to me, or I won’t feel reassured.”

Du Heng sighed. ”Alas, with your level, when can you take over your father’s business? Listen carefully. Because you have a deficiency of both water and fire, we use rehmannia to nourish the true Yin in the kidneys and morinda to replenish the true Yang in the kidneys.” Du Heng paused slightly. ”Here you need to understand that morinda is a Yin-nourishing agent even though it replenishes Yang. This is because Yang is born and Yin grows, so there is no strong Yang harm.”

”I understand that. Continue.”

”The two herbs can nourish the kidney’s water and fire, but they may not necessarily be able to facilitate communication between them. Consequently, the kidney qi may not quickly enter the large and small intestines. Adding sojutsu var helps the qi of the waist and navel. This way, the front and back Yin will be connected, and your problem with pain during urination and defecation will be easily solved.”

Wei Kaida blinked twice. ”Keep talking.”

This time it was Du Heng who was stunned. Full of doubt, he said, ”Rehmannia, morinda, and sojutsu var—just three herbs. I’ve said it all.”

Wei Kaida was a little anxious. ”You only solved my problem with urination and defecation. What about that other part? How come there’s no prescription for that part?”

”Ah,” Du Heng laughed. ”When the true Yin and true Yang are replenished, kidney essence will naturally be produced. Then just take some Six-Ingredient Rehmannia Pill.”

”Really?”

”If you don’t believe it, forget it.”

Wei Kaida chuckled and eagerly got up and walked out. ”If I don’t trust my brother, who should I trust?”

He excitedly ran to the Hall, immediately handed the prescription to the nurse Xiaoxiao, and said, ”Xiaoxiao, get the medicine according to this house.” Then he turned back to Du Heng and asked, ”Du, how do I take the medicine?”

”Take two doses for each prescription, and seven prescriptions will suffice.”

Wei Kaida ”oh”-ed. ”Why not prescribe more? Every time I prescribe medicine for someone, I start with ten prescriptions.”

Du Heng looked speechlessly at Wei Kaida. ”How could you say such shameless words so openly? If you had a bit of conscience, you would give patients a little more dosage for each prescription and not need that many prescriptions.”

Wei Kaida chuckled. ”We need to make money. If the dosage is sufficient and two doses cure people, how can we make money? Besides, if the dosage is too large and causes problems, we can’t afford to compensate the patients. A smaller dosage, even if it causes a reaction, will result in lighter symptoms, which is better for everyone.”

Without worrying about whether his excuse was valid, he took the medicine prepared by Xiaoxiao and went directly to the decoction room behind him.

Although the Perilla Clinic looked like a small clinic, its structure was no different from a hospital Department. In addition, Wei Kaida’s father was not stingy with money, and all the money-making equipment was in place. There were electronic accupuncture treatment machines and electromagnetic massage pillows. Of course, as a Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic, the decoction equipment was also up to date. But looking at the decoction machine that resembled a pressure cooker, Du Heng now held reservations about it. At this time last year, he had been quite passionate about using such high-pressure decoction machines. But after the Health Clinic also started using them, he began to regret it. It was indeed much more convenient. Decoction medicine that took thirty minutes to boil in a casserole could be ready in just fifteen minutes with the decoction machine, saving a lot of time. And for patients who needed long-term medication, they could also have two or three days’ worth of medicine, or even a week’s worth, all in one pot, and then sealed and bagged. It saved patients’ time and energy and improved the clinic’s efficiency. But the effect of each medication was always a bit worse than that of the casserole-cooked medicine. One or two points might not seem like much, and upon closer examination, there were no significant problems. But for Du Heng, who often used decoction medicine for emergency treatment, the difference of one or two points might be worlds apart. So now when he uses medication, he subconsciously takes this aspect into consideration. However, on the whole, this device still has more benefits than drawbacks.

Wei Kaida handled the decoction and took the medicine all by himself. After putting down the medicine cup, his face finally showed a relaxed expression.

”Let’s go, let’s go eat together. I haven’t sat down with you for a long time.” Wei Kaida gave some instructions to Xiaoxiao the nurse and then pulled Du Heng out of the clinic.

Three dishes, two servings of noodles, and one teacup each.

Wei Kaida wanted to drink some alcohol but, thinking of the medicine he had just taken, consciously decided against it. ”Come on, let’s drink tea instead of wine. I’m going to be a married man.”

”Cheers.” Du Heng laughed and clinked cups. ”Have you set a date?”

”It’s set, June 1st, and you’ll be my best man.” Wei Kaida looked at Du Heng seriously. ”No excuses.”

”Definitely.” Du Heng agreed readily. ”Why are you in such a hurry?”

”It’s been three months. If I drag it on any longer, it’ll be too obvious when she starts showing.” Wei Kaida picked at his food and ate. ”I won’t say more; just come when the time comes. Let’s talk about you. Have you set a date?”
