This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

After saying that, Jin Juan picked up her bag and walked towards the door.

When she got downstairs, Jin Juan’s eyebrows suddenly twitched. She said to the Woman in childbirth and her husband, ”You two go ahead. I’ll make a call and be right there.”

”Alright, we’ll wait at the hospital entrance.”

After the couple walked away, Jin Juan took out her phone and called Lu Guangying. ”Director Wu and the others want to treat me to dinner... You’re already home?... Alright, I got it... I’ve already made arrangements. Tomorrow I... Hello? Hello?”

Jin Juan walked outside while talking on the phone. Glancing at her Mobile phone’s suddenly black screen, she muttered, ”This crappy Mobile phone, running out of battery just like that.”

At the same time, a man dashed past Jin Juan in a hurry, accidentally bumping her shoulder.

Jin Juan frowned. Before she could say anything to the man, he had already run upstairs without looking back and soon disappeared from view.

”Bad luck,” Jin Juan murmured, then walked quickly towards the entrance.

The man who had run upstairs anxiously returned to the consultation room. Seeing the woman sitting on a bench outside, clearly in unbearable pain, he rushed over to her, his expression filled with worry. ”Honey, what did the doctor say? Are you feeling any better?”

The woman immediately told him Jin Juan’s diagnosis. ”Dear, should we just skip the examination?”

Without hesitation, the man said, ”We’re already here, and it’s not that expensive. Let’s just do the check-up. It’ll put everyone’s mind at ease once we know for sure.”

The man took the doctor’s order, first went downstairs to pay the fee, then came back upstairs, supporting his wife to the Inspection Department.

In the B-Ultrasound room, the Doctor of Inspection Department asked the woman to lie down and, while preparing for the examination, asked her, ”Do you know what this check-up is for?”

”Yes, to see if I’m pregnant.”

The Doctor of Inspection Department nodded. ”Did you test yourself first?”

”Yes, two lines.”

”Oh.” The Doctor of Inspection Department said no more and began the examination in earnest.

However, as the probe moved, the doctor’s brows furrowed. ”How many days has it been since you tested yourself?”

”More than twenty days.”

”I can’t see a gestational sac in your uterine cavity. Did you only test yourself once?”

”Yes, just once.”

The doctor fell silent and began to control the probe to check again. But the more he looked, the tighter his brow furrowed.

After completing the B-ultrasound report, the Doctor of Inspection Department let the couple leave. He then found the ordering doctor’s phone number from the address book under his desk.

”Hello, I just performed a pregnancy check-up... Yes, no gestational sac was found in the uterine cavity, but something seems off in other areas. I suggest you order a vagin B-ultrasound examination for the patient.”

With the reminder from the Inspection Department, the young doctor who had placed the order paid much more attention when reviewing the examination report, especially the final conclusion. His heart skipped a beat.

”Doctor, am I pregnant?”

”Based on the B-ultrasound, you are not pregnant. However, there are some shadows in other areas. I suggest you have another vagin B-ultrasound examination.”

The couple glanced at each other, both growing anxious, and hurriedly asked, ”Doctor, what do you mean by ’shadows’?”

”It could be an ectopic pregnancy or a condition like an ovarian cyst. These can cause your current pain and bleeding. We should perform another examination to confirm.”

”Alright, Doctor, write the order. We’ll go for the check-up,” the man said hastily, somewhat panic-stricken.

Once again holding the payment receipt, the woman said to her husband, ”You go pay. I’m going to the toilet. Wait for me at the Inspection Department.”

”Can you make it?” the man asked with concern.

”I’ll be fine.”

The man nodded and then walked away quickly.

After finishing his tasks, the man rushed to the Inspection Department. He waited and waited, but he never saw his wife come down, and she wasn’t answering his calls.

The man panicked and rushed back to the previous floor, then started searching for the toilet like a headless chicken.

He finally found it, but seeing the sign for the women’s toilet, he didn’t dare to enter directly. Instead, he stood at the door shouting, but received no response.

However, his shouts alerted a nurse. She went in to check, and soon after, he heard the nurse scream.

Although Wang Shuqiu’s home was also in a mountainous area, it was completely different from the mountainous areas of Jinzhou. Jinzhou, located on the loess plateau, had exposed loess layers visible everywhere, yet it also boasted many green plants. Here, however, as far as the eye could see, there was only earthy yellow and reddish-brown. The only greenery visible was the marsdenia in front of each house.

For some reason, Wu Shengnan, after holding back for a day, couldn’t be satisfied with just texting. She insisted on video chatting with Du Heng and even asked him to take his phone outside so she could see the scenery there. The conversation lasted almost an hour, and if it wasn’t for a sudden phone call, Wu Shengnan would have continued to chat.

”Director Gao, what happened?... Ectopic pregnancy? Removing one fallopian tube? Is that really necessary?” Du Heng’s brows furrowed tightly. ”...Then hurry up with the surgery.”

”Dean, the surgery is being arranged, but Director Jin Juan was hit by the patient’s husband?”

”What? Is it serious?” Du Heng’s expression darkened immediately.

”I don’t know how serious it is; I was just called back myself. I called to inform you in case you hadn’t heard.”

Du Heng took a couple of deep breaths, trying hard to calm himself. ”What’s the situation now?”

”The assailant and Director Jin are both in Deputy Dean Lu’s office; the police are handling it there.”

”What was the reason? Why would Director Jin be beaten for no reason?”

”Director Jin initially diagnosed the patient with dysmenorrhea, prescribed medicine, and left. Later, the patient fainted in the toilet. Her phone was unreachable, and it was Deputy Dean Lu who found her. Perhaps because Director Jin was perceived to be dawdling, the patient’s husband lost his temper and hit her.”

Gao Qin recounted everything she knew. Hearing it, Du Heng’s face turned a shade of green.

”So, Jin Juan initially misdiagnosed, which caused a delay. Then she left her post early and couldn’t be found? And the Obstetrician suspected an ectopic pregnancy but didn’t arrange for a nurse to accompany the patient for the examination, instead letting her go to the toilet alone?”

”That’s pretty much it. And the patient was only discovered by her husband after he forced his way into the toilet ten minutes after she had fainted.”

The toilet in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department is a veritable battlefield.

Countless heroines have met their downfall in the toilets of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department: miscarriages, sudden births, fainting spells, comas, shock, even on-the-spot deaths—the department’s toilets have seen it all.

How could they possibly let a woman with abdominal pain and bleeding, suspected of an ectopic pregnancy, go to the toilet alone?

Moreover, to this moment, neither Lu Guangying nor Jin Juan had called to inform him. This made Du Heng’s expression even darker.

”Director Gao, please do everything possible to minimize the patient’s injuries. I’ll head back as soon as I can.”

”Dean, you don’t need to worry about the surgery; I’m quite confident in handling that. Besides, with Deputy Dean Lu and the police here, I don’t think you need to rush back.”

Du Heng considered this. It was true; even if he rushed back, he probably couldn’t resolve much.

However, he had lost all interest in appreciating the scenery. He turned back towards the house, simultaneously calling Qiu Pingzhen and the other hospital leaders.

Back in the room, he saw that Wang Shuqiu’s Mother’s various reactions were fine; she was just a little fatigued. But the sudden arrival of a little grandson had kept her going, preventing her from sleeping. It wasn’t until ten o’clock, after she drank her medicine, that its effects finally helped her drift off to sleep, albeit reluctantly.

That night, Wang Shuqiu’s parents, Liao Yuzhu, and the child all slept soundly, while Du Heng tossed and turned, unable to sleep.
