This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

This suddenly made Du Heng lose all goodwill toward this woman; not a shred of it remained.

Seeing Feng Su playing dumb, Du Heng said directly, ”Ms. Feng, for this interview, our hospital spent 100,000 yuan in public relations expenses to resolve your issue and to boost our hospital’s reputation. Now that all our efforts have essentially paved the way for you, shouldn’t you contribute something?”

As soon as Du Heng finished speaking, Feng Su’s eyes widened. ”100,000 yuan? Didn’t they say it was only 20,000 yuan?”

”Who said that?”

”It was...” Feng Su abruptly closed her mouth. She understood what Du Heng was up to.

But what could she do? Du Heng was clearly determined to make her pay. Could she really find that person and have them confront Du Heng?

But she knew her own situation; she wasn’t really a celebrity with money to burn. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have shamelessly latched onto Du Heng’s live interview, nor would she have been so flustered when the news first broke.

Yet, she hadn’t fully recovered and was still under Du Heng’s thumb. She had no choice but to pay.

After a moment’s hesitation, she said, ”Doctor Du, I was in the wrong this time. However, during today’s interview, I did my utmost to recommend you and your hospital. You’ve achieved what you wanted. How about this: I’ll cover half of the public relations expenses. What do you think?”

Du Heng raised an eyebrow. ”Fine. I’ll have finance come over right now.”

With that, he actually took out his phone and asked someone from finance to come to the hospital room. His actions were so direct that Feng Su was left momentarily stunned.

For a moment, Feng Su felt she had paid too much; the loss stung terribly.

But Du Heng hung up and left immediately, giving Feng Su no further chance to speak.

Recouping a loss like that invariably lifts one’s spirits. And when your spirits are high, good things tend to follow one after another.

”Brother, do you have time to swing by my place?”

Du Heng had just stepped out of Feng Su’s hospital room when he received a call from Wei Kaida. ”If you have something to say, just say it.”

”Brother, I’m getting married! I wanted to talk to you.”

Du Heng’s spirits instantly soared.

Of the four brothers from their dormitory, Dong, who had married early, was now a father of two. Then there was Jin; after graduating from his postgraduate studies without delay, he also smoothly became a father last year with Du Heng’s help.

Now, only Wei Kaida and he himself remained unmarried.

However, his own marriage was already on the agenda, and he believed a definite date would be set soon.

The only surprise was Wei Kaida; no one ever knew when this playboy would settle down. To think he was getting married now—the news was certainly sudden.

As it happened, Du Heng didn’t want to stay in the office that afternoon anyway, so he immediately packed up and headed to the Perilla Clinic.

After a year, the once-unrestrained Wei Kaida had matured considerably. He, who used to detest consultations, could now steadily see patients until the afternoon.

And when Du Heng walked in, Wei Kaida was even diagnosing a patient quite professionally.

”You’re just worrying too much,” Wei Kaida was saying. ”You need to learn to let go when it’s time.”

The older woman looked at him, amazed. ”Young man, you’re incredibly perceptive! How did you know?”

Wei Kaida, seeing her astonished expression, continued, ”Do you sleep restlessly? Are you always dreaming?”

”Yes, yes! I dream all the time. I don’t know what I dream about, but I wake up more tired than if I hadn’t slept at all.”

”And do you find it hard to fall back asleep if you wake up during the night?”

The older woman in front of him nodded vigorously, completely won over by Wei Kaida.

”When you go home, eat well and drink well. If you feel restless at home or can’t stand being idle, go downstairs for a walk, or join in the square dancing. Relax, practice ’out of sight, out of mind,’ and these little problems of yours will disappear. Taking care of your own health is what’s most important.”

Wei Kaida lowered his head to write a prescription for the older woman, then told her to pay at the front and collect her medicine.

The older woman left with her prescription, beaming and offering profuse thanks without even asking the price of the medicine.

Once the older woman had departed, Du Heng walked over with a smile. ”Tsk, tsk, not bad. Your skills have really improved. You deduced all that just from pulse diagnosis.”

Wei Kaida glanced at the departing older woman before chuckling. ”That older woman, from the moment she walked in, had a Benz-like look about her. With people like that, nine out of ten are used to being Benz at home.”

Du Heng chuckled. ”And the tenth one?”

”The tenth one is Benz both inside and outside the home,” Wei Kaida said, then burst out laughing. ”Women like her, at this age, and showing signs of pent-up frustration—they’re definitely having trouble asserting themselves at home and are getting worked up about it. For patients like this, it’s almost certain; liver qi stagnation is a given.”

Du Heng listened, amused. ”Well now, you diagnose illnesses while also doing face reading and fortune-telling. You’re quite something.”

”It just comes with experience.”

Seeing the clinic was empty for the moment, Du Heng sat down opposite Wei Kaida. ”Where’s your dad? Is he confident enough to leave the clinic in your hands now?”

”Nah, he’s out with my mom buying furniture for my new place.” Speaking of this, Wei Kaida’s expression turned melancholic.

”So, tell me, what made you suddenly decide to get married?” Du Heng was very curious.

Wei Kaida sighed. ”Tingting’s pregnant. We have to get married.”

”A shotgun wedding, huh? That doesn’t seem like your style.”

”I’ve wanted to get married for a while but never found the right chance to bring it up. This opportunity is perfect; it even saved me a proposal.”

Seeing Wei Kaida’s dejected look, Du Heng shrugged and decided not to press the issue. ”So, why did you call me over today? To show off?”

Wei Kaida glanced at the young nurse, Xiaoxiao, across the room, then stood up. ”Xiaoxiao, keep an eye on the front for a bit. We’re going to chat in the back. If anyone comes, just tell them to leave.”

The girl called Xiaoxiao nodded. ”I understand, Dr. Wei.”

Wei Kaida turned and pulled Du Heng towards the consultation room in the back. ”Come on, let’s talk in here.”

Noticing Wei Kaida’s secretive demeanor, Du Heng couldn’t help but take a closer look at him. And this time, he actually saw something.

A sunken philtrum, a flushed tip of the nose, and earlobes that were an even brighter red.

This guy has a problem.

Once inside the consultation room, Wei Kaida immediately closed the door.

Then, with a pained expression, he said to Du Heng, ”Brother, you have to help me. Take a look.”

Du Heng chuckled softly. ”You might want to tell me what the problem is first.”

Wei Kaida looked embarrassed, hesitating and unwilling to speak.

Du Heng found it exasperating. ”Come on, we’re brothers. What can’t you tell me? After five years of school together, what haven’t we seen of each other?”

Wei Kaida gritted his teeth. ”It’s like this... Recently, I don’t know why, but every time I urinate, it’s incredibly painful. And the more it hurts, the more I feel like I have to urinate.”

Du Heng’s gaze flickered. ”Only when you urinate? What about when you defecate?”

”Same thing.”

”Did it start suddenly, or was there a reason?”

Wei Kaida hesitated again, then stammered, ”I don’t know what happened, but ever since the New Year, it’s always been a case of... the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Du Heng paused, then asked curiously, ”Do you mean you can’t get an erection, or you’re not satisfied with the duration?”

The question made Wei Kaida blush and become tongue-tied. After a long moment, he mumbled, ”I can’t get an erection.”

”Oh.” Just as Du Heng said that, he noticed Wei Kaida’s expression falter and quickly urged, ”Go on.”

”About a week ago,” Wei Kaida said, his face looking as if he were constipated, ”I took some medicine and managed to... perform. But ever since then, I’ve had these symptoms. Now, the pain is so bad I’m scared to go to the toilet. But if I don’t go, the urge to use the toilet is incredibly strong.”

He then looked pleadingly at Du Heng. ”Brother, save me. I can’t take this anymore.”
