This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

Du Heng saw the cautious expressions of the three doctors and couldn’t help but feel helpless.

He couldn’t really scold all three of them in front of the patient, could he?

After sighing, he said, ”You’ve examined the patient’s symptoms very clearly and also have a clear understanding of the pulse. It’s a case of internal injury from overexertion, leading to damage of qi and yin in the three organs—lungs, spleen, and kidneys. This has resulted in a severe case of the three consumptions, where strong fire consumes qi. Her complexion turning from white to black is differentiated as an unconsolidated lower origin with kidney qi rising rebelliously.”

Looking at the three doctors, he continued, ”Now, tell me how to treat this patient.”

After exchanging glances, Li Shuxun was the first to speak, ”We should consolidate the lower burner and nourish the kidney qi.”

Du Heng gently added, ”Think again. Have you solved the problem of the strong fire consuming qi?” He then turned to the male doctor and said, ”Your turn.”

Instead of answering hastily, the male doctor pondered for a moment before saying, ”The patient has qi and yin deficiency in all three organs and an excess of yang. Treatment should focus on nourishing yin and the kidneys to control the overactive yang, consolidating the lower burner, and nourishing the kidney qi.”

Du Heng did not comment on this answer but looked at the last female doctor and asked, ”What about you?”

The female doctor smiled shyly. ”I think there’s no problem.”

Du Heng started writing the prescription and said, ”Find some time in the next few days to do some copying of prescriptions.”

The three doctors were taken aback. Du Heng’s words made it clear that their answers were incorrect.

As Du Heng wrote the prescription, he said, ”If you know that the patient has qi and yin deficiency in the three organs along with excessive yang, and you know that these symptoms are caused by the chaotic flow of yang energy, why can’t you think of guiding the fire back to its source?”

The three doctors exchanged uneasy glances, hesitant to respond.

”Take a good look at this prescription. It is suitable for all types of the three consumptions. You just need to adjust it according to the patient’s actual condition.”

Du Heng placed the completed prescription on the table and then told the patient, ”Take this prescription to the pharmacy and have them prepare ten doses. If the symptoms completely disappear, switch to taking Bu Zhong Yi Qi Wan in the morning and Liu Wei Di Huang Wan in the evening for recuperation. If any symptoms persist, continue taking the original prescription for six more doses, then switch to Bu Zhong Yi Qi Wan and Liu Wei Di Huang Wan.”

After saying this, Du Heng gave his seat to the three doctors so they could handle system updates and patient instructions. He then walked out, feeling bored again.

「At noon,」 the morning’s interviews finally ended, and the journalists left with their cameras and equipment. The Hospital Office staff began to restore Du Heng’s office.

As Du Heng stood in his office waiting, Qiu Pingzhen appeared by his side once again.

”Dean, the matter with Jin Juan has been settled, and all the money that needed to be paid has been transferred.”

”Tell the finance department to keep a proper account and not create any more problems.”

”Yes, there won’t be any issues with that.”

”Has Jin Juan’s internal review been written?”

”Yes, it’s already in my office.” Qiu Pingzhen paused for a moment before asking, ”Dean, may I ask why you had Jin Juan write this? It can’t be made public.”

”It’s a warning! It may not be made public, but it can be circulated among our colleagues so everyone gets the picture. They shouldn’t think that leaving the workplace means they can soar freely without consequences.”

As Du Heng gazed at his restored office, he murmured something, then sat down at his desk. Turning to Old Zheng from the Hospital Office, he asked, ”How was the live broadcast this morning?”

Old Zheng coughed. ”The Municipal and Provincial TV Station live broadcast rooms had a total of forty thousand viewers. However, with the participation of some streamers, the number may be even higher, but we can’t accurately count it. Also, due to Feng Su’s involvement, where she shared her personal experience, the online popularity has grown a lot since yesterday. I just checked, and a topic on traditional Chinese medicine treatment for cancer has reached the top twenty on the hot search list. The effect should be pretty good.”

Du Heng had a limited understanding of these things but simply nodded and asked, ”Is there anything else?”

Old Zheng coughed again. ”The ins account you gave us received a new surge of comments when the live broadcast started.”

Hearing the word ’ins’, Du Heng’s face darkened as he recalled the stinging words he had seen that morning.

”The majority of these new comments were inquiries about medical conditions. There’s also a significant portion hoping you, Dean, could start a live broadcast to answer patients’ questions online. The demand for this is quite high.”

Old Zheng’s following words slightly eased Du Heng’s expression.

”Old Zheng, discuss this with Director Qiu. See how best to approach it and come up with a reasonable plan. Oh, and please, don’t use those cringeworthy, clickbait titles like ’The Gospel Has Arrived!’ or ’Benefit Giveaway!’ It’s too embarrassing.”

Old Zheng nodded, and Qiu Pingzhen also acknowledged the instruction.

「After lunch,」 Feng Su must have received a call from Li Qin, as she hastily called Du Heng.

When Du Heng saw Feng Su again, she appeared extremely nervous and guilty. She kept apologizing to Du Heng, saying that she had no choice and had acted impulsively.

However, Du Heng no longer had any trust in Feng Su. Even though her expression seemed sincere, he believed it was just an act.

”Ms. Feng, regardless of your reasons, your actions have put us in a very passive position and completely disrupted our plans.”

Feng Su maintained her pitiful demeanor, repeatedly saying sorry, but offered no other explanation.
