This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

Seeing the bewildered look on the parents’ faces, Du Heng couldn’t help but smile bitterly. What a careless parent.

He didn’t stay longer and rushed back to his consultation room. After all, he still had patients waiting.

After Du Heng left, the female doctor warned the parents, ”The child is small; it’s the age when they are curious about everything. As parents, you must keep these small objects far away, out of the child’s reach.

At the same time, you also need to watch your child closely. Who knows what they might stick in their mouth at any moment.”

The parents listened to the doctor, nodding so frantically it seemed their necks were made of springs instead of flesh.

On the way back, Du Heng’s mind drifted for a moment. This female doctor in the Pediatrics Department isn’t bad. It’s not just about her skill level; her medical ethics are commendable.

Given today’s situation, I really thought this female doctor would order a check-up for the child, but she didn’t even mention it. Good, good. It seems not everyone in this hospital is as money-grubbing as those in the Obstetrics Department and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

In the following days, Du Heng busied himself collecting the data he needed, while Qiu Pingzhen, on his end, processed Jin Juan’s resignation procedures with utmost speed.

During this process, everyone qualified to sign did so without hesitation. Lu Guangying, in particular, signed the fastest. The questioning or obstruction Qiu Pingzhen had anticipated from Lu Guangying never materialized. In fact, Lu Guangying didn’t ask a single question during the signing process and simply signed it promptly.

It was only at this moment that Qiu Pingzhen understood he seemed to be the only one confused about the whole affair.

It took two days to complete all of Jin Juan’s resignation procedures.

This timeframe was exceptionally fast, so fast that all the medical staff in the hospital were somewhat caught off guard.

The Deputy Director, who had been abruptly promoted from the Obstetrics Department to run the department, was utterly befuddled. This whole thing is too surreal, he thought.

But whether it was surreal or not had nothing to do with Du Heng. To him, Jin Juan’s matter was just a normal personnel change, not something worth overthinking. He already had too much on his plate.

During these past few days, apart from his appearances during outpatient service, he spent the rest of the time holed up in his office, absorbed in writing his papers.

Sometimes, he would even pull Xiao Li in to assist him, thereby speeding up the completion of the papers.

After nearly a week of hard work, Du Heng finally sent out two papers, once again to Li Qingde’s daughter.

Having finished this task that had been weighing on his mind, Du Heng felt a sense of relief and just waited for good news.

It was only then that he remembered he had a cervical cancer patient lying in a hospital bed.

Nearly a week had passed without him seeing Feng Su, and Du Heng felt a little guilty as he walked toward her ward.

But it’s also that female doctor’s fault. If she had reminded me from time to time, I wouldn’t have completely buried myself in my papers. Yes, the responsibility must be hers. Du Heng mentally justified himself a little, then pushed open the door to Feng Su’s hospital room.

Several days had passed since he last saw her, and Feng Su’s external appearance was much worse than when she was first hospitalized.

Her face was sallow and devoid of color, and she had clearly lost a lot of weight. However, it was visually apparent that her overall mental state was good; she no longer had the dazed, half-dead look from when she first started taking the medicine.

This is normal and within my expectations, Du Heng thought. After all, I used drastic medicine, and her body has been a battlefield against the tumor for days. If she looked radiant and rosy, I’d be the first to panic.

After an examination, Du Heng said, ”Your body has begun to recover. Hang in there for another week to expel the remaining waste blood and heat poison. Then we’ll start to focus on recuperating your body.”

Feng Su herself could feel the changes in her body. At the very least, the pain in her lower abdomen had significantly lessened over the week, to the point she could barely feel it now.

But that wasn’t her main concern; she had sought out Du Heng to preserve her fertility. Now, apart from sensing her body’s slow recovery, she was unaware of anything else, which made her somewhat anxious.

Hearing Du Heng’s words, she hurriedly voiced her most pressing concern, ”Doctor Du, what about my ability to get pregnant in the future...?”

Du Heng understood these patients’ anxieties all too well. He turned to the female doctor and said, ”Later, please arrange some tests for Ms. Feng. Mainly, check the condition of her uterus and fallopian tubes for any damage.”

”Okay, Dean, I’ll arrange it right away.”

After chatting with Feng Su for a while, Du Heng left with the female doctor.

Just as they turned the corner, they saw a figure disappear in a flash.

Du Heng found the figure somewhat familiar. After a moment’s thought, he asked, ”Was that Director Jin Juan whose back we just saw?”

The female doctor uttered a small ”ah.” ”Yes, that was Doctor Jin.”

”Why is she still coming here?”

”She has been coming these past few days, saying she is visiting Director Wu’s daughter-in-law.”

Du Heng said, ”Oh,” then asked curiously, ”Who is Director Wu? And what happened to his daughter-in-law?”

”He’s our Community Director. His daughter-in-law just had a baby and is staying in private room number three.”
