This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

Based on the information Du Heng currently possessed and considering Liang Sen’s current condition, the probability of a completely successful surgery with no lasting side effects was less than twenty percent.

If such an outcome truly occurred, it would devastate two families this time.

Du Heng’s hands trembled even more violently.

Only then did he realize that the incident from two months prior hadn’t been erased from his heart; it had merely been lying dormant.

So, should he intervene? Or not?

Du Heng found himself once again caught in a maelstrom of indecision.

Du Heng closed his eyes and took several deep breaths. Suddenly, his eyes snapped open. ”Nannan,” he said, ”go to my car. Beside the driver’s seat, there’s a small case. Inside, you’ll find a wax-sealed pill. Get the one labeled ’Supreme Jewel Elixir’ and bring it to me. Hurry!”

Then he looked at the village head. ”Call the Health Clinic and the Police Station. Tell them to hurry!”

Not daring to delay a moment, he snatched up the bag that had been tossed aside and took out his needle tool kit.

First step: lower blood pressure, stop the bleeding, and stimulate him back to consciousness.

LI-04, PC-06, philtrum, KI-01... Finally, he added the excitatory acupoint and, most crucially, the Baihui (GV20) point.

After one minute of strong stimulation, Liang Sen slowly regained consciousness.

Just as the onlookers were about to cheer, Du Heng gestured for silence and began to observe Liang Sen closely again.

But what he saw was not encouraging.

His eyes were dull and somewhat vacant, showing no reaction to his surroundings.

And as his eyes opened, a clear fluid, tinged with red, trickled from Liang Sen’s nostrils.

Cerebrospinal fluid?!

Du Heng sighed. Cerebrospinal fluid is found in the ventricles and subarachnoid space. The presence of blood in it made the situation grimly clear.

He could only hope Liang Sen was resilient and Liang Limin was fortunate; otherwise, they’d both be done for.

Seeing that Liang Sen had regained consciousness, Du Heng removed all the other fine needles but left the ones in the Baihui (GV20) point and the excitatory acupoint. Then, he inserted another needle into the GV-24 point.

”The medicine is here!” Wu Shengnan returned, panting, and handed Du Heng a wax-white pill.

Du Heng hurriedly took the pill and said to a bystander, ”Get me a bowl of water, quickly!” Even as he spoke, he pinched open the outer wax seal and crushed the black pill inside.

”Nannan, go fold down the back seat of the car. We’ll be right there.”

”Okay.”

Wu Shengnan ran to the car again, while Du Heng took the bowl of water someone handed him.

The Supreme Jewel Elixir is used to clear turbidity and restore consciousness, similar to Storax Pills. However, the one Du Heng had was merely a crude, homemade version. The rhinoceros horn had been replaced with buffalo horn; although the intended effect was similar, the potency was far weaker.

But at this moment, there was no better option.

After administering all of the crushed Supreme Jewel Elixir, Du Heng took out his phone again. ”Fei, where are you now?”

”I just left. I was about to deliver Liang Lihai’s medicine.”

”Don’t come here yet. Prepare a prescription immediately: six grams of bupleurum, three grams of asarum, angelica, rhizoma ligustici... gastrodia. Start decocting it now. I’ll be there soon.”

”Slow down, I didn’t get all that down.”

Du Heng licked his dry lips. ”I’ll send you a voice message.”

Having arranged all this, Du Heng turned back. ”A few of you, come help me. Let’s get him into my car.”

Instantly, men and women, old and young, all surged forward, pushing Du Heng aside in their eagerness. He shouted anxiously, ”Be careful! Don’t touch the needles in Liang Sen’s head!”

A group of people carried Liang Sen out of the field. Someone found an old door plank, and as soon as they were clear of the field’s edge, they placed Liang Sen on it. This made it much easier for those carrying him.

Watching the group walk towards the road, Liang Limin’s wife and father grew anxious. They ran over and grabbed Du Heng’s arm. ”Du Heng, what about our Limin?”

Du Heng then remembered Liang Limin. He glanced back towards their doorstep and asked quickly, ”Hasn’t he woken up yet?”

”No. They said to pour some child’s urine on him, but I didn’t let them.”

”I’ll go take a look.”

Du Heng turned back to Liang Limin’s side. After checking again and confirming he was merely unconscious, Du Heng took out his unused needle utensils. He applied medium-level stimulation to the philtrum, ten diffusing points, and Baihui (GV20) acupoints.

In less than thirty seconds, Liang Limin showed signs of opening his eyes.

Du Heng didn’t linger. He packed up his needle utensils and walked towards his car, saying over his shoulder, ”Just let him lie there. When the Health Clinic’s vehicle arrives, have them take him for a proper check-up.”

When he reached his car, he saw Liang Sen had already been placed in the back seat, and Liang Hehai had also gotten in. He instructed Liang Hehai, ”Hold your son’s head steady. Don’t let anything touch those needles.”

After saying this, he started the car and drove straight to Du Fei’s clinic.

”Nannan, take my phone. Tell my brother we’re not going home; we’re leaving directly from here.”

”Okay.”

He had barely finished speaking when a ’HUUURGH!’ erupted from the back seat.

Du Heng glanced back. Seeing the sound came from Liang Sen, he knew this was due to the hemorrhage. He quickly said, ”Turn Liang Sen’s head to the side! If he needs to vomit, let him!”

Then, without looking back again, he focused on driving, speeding towards the clinic.

Du Fei was very fast. After hanging up Du Heng’s phone, he had immediately rushed to grab the herbs and begin the decoction. However, before the decocted medicine was even poured out, Du Heng had already arrived at the clinic’s doorstep.
