I Love Destroying Worlds' Plot

Chapter 2195: 25.85 Lone Black Star - Third Prince, Ye Di

After the commander had entered the medicine pod to heal himself completely, Lieutenant Shu, had taken on the command position and everyone had to listen to him including the Crown Princess. The Lieutenant didn’t stop Ye Caoyun from getting involved with the meetings. It can be said that his ideas were the most useful at this kind of battle. After all, he can somehow predict the actions the Zeg Prince would do on the battlefield. However, he wasn’t directly led to the battlefield by the current commander and instead told him to help him watch the changes in the battlefield so every change within these three hours would be controlled by them.

The Lieutenant said, ”Your highness, I know that you wanted to head to the frontline to save as much of our people as possible. But at this moment, I cannot break the laws of the empire just to let you do as you must. Even in the past records of the legendary battles your masters had done before, there are no records saying that the First Empress had fought on the frontline on his own. He had always had the First Emperor by his side.”

”I know about this. Senior, please don’t mind me. I am not foolish enough to go against the laws and put even more lives in danger because of me. My master also taught me to only make actions that I am sure that would succeed or that acting out will just cause my death in the battlefield,” the Crown Princess, Ye Caoyun said.

The seniors in the room all nodded by how calm and composed the crown princess is. Even though he is young, he didn’t have the kind of carelessness one can find in a young person. It was this kind of people who can actually lead properly in such a kind of warfare.

Ye Caoyun said, ”After the first wave of the zerg invasion entered our range, there is a possibility that the Zerg Prince would send some zergs to investigate our territory. They must have come here because of their leader and... because they are running out of food.”

”You mean... they had found us because we had gathered in one place making this area no different from a place filled with energy?” A senior asked after analyzing the crown princess’s words.

The crown princess nodded his head. He said, ”Those human faced zergs. They are a mutation that has never been found in the records of our history. In short they are either a new species of the insect race or... they are the result of gene merging experiments. It is most likely the second one and this kind of mutation requires a lot of energy to maintain or their gene merging is not stabilized.”

”What would happen if they lack energy to keep this mutation?” The current commander asked.

”They would either turn into a living bomb or a living disaster. The kind of disaster that is contagious, the kind where a crazy one can turn another to another madman.”

Ye Caoyun answered honestly. He had seen this kind of mutation in his former world. His birth place is a semi-apocalyptic world, a sci-fi kind where all kinds of genes can merge with all kinds of genes. He is a result of an experiment born from a human gene and a sentient tree, which is the world tree. He had almost died in that world. This is because not all genes can merge with each other. Human genes can adapt to almost all kinds of genes, but it doesn’t mean that it’s a perfect merging.

Unstable gene merging can result in gene explosion, where the mutant will explode on the spot or they become mindless monsters who seek for life and death. They are even more dangerous as they sometimes cause a second mutation which would lead to something unknown and contagious.

When everyone heard the answer of the crown princess they were surprised. They didn’t expect it to be this kind of dangerous mutation. As for how Ye Caoyun knew about such things, they all believe that it was their ancestors who had taught them such things beyond their understanding. The masters of the crown prince and the crown princess were all presumed as gods or divinity by everyone from the empire.

After all, who can retain such youth after a few generations have passed. Only the First Emperor and the First Empress looked the same as they were when they were at their peak. Like the photo in that forbidden area of the royal library.

The Lieutenant said, ”It would be bad if it’s contagious. Right now, the empire had no way to restore gene mutation. We should attack in range and not in close combat unless necessary.”

”Give the warning to the soldiers at the first line of defense. Tell them to try to kill the zergs from a distance and avoid being bitten or scratched by these zergs.”

”Inform everyone about the possibility of contagious mutation but do not treat it as a death sentence once one is scratched or bitten. Tell them to observe those who got bitten if they would undergo mutation after this kind of injury.”

”And if they lost their sanity... end them on the spot. Right now there is no way to reverse gene mutations.”

The crown princess was listening into the meeting while observing the changes on the battlefield itself. Once something amiss was found he would report it immediately and as he had predicated. The zerg prince had indeed sent some zerg good at stealth to sneak into their territory and if not for his warning, they wouldn’t have turned on the hidden security defense mechanism around the territory, both in and out.

Meanwhile at the empire’s main palace, the third prince had begun a coup de ta. Without the Grand Duke’s family and the crown prince, after the third prince had poisoned the empress, the emperor was powerless to stop the third prince, Ye Di. It was unknown where he had gotten his new strength which had almost reached the same level as the crown prince. There is also the fact that the ministers seem to have fallen in some state of hypnosis control.

They were moving as if something was controlling them and it was not of their will. Emperor Ye Wang knew about this and it was because of this that he didn’t dare to kill any of them. Moreover, his wife was poisoned and the only antidote was in the possession of the third prince and his faction. With him and his wife imprisoned at some underground jail within the imperial palace, they are unable to send a message outside to seek help or inform their son what happened to their place.

At the underground prison...

Emperor Ye Wang glared at the third prince, Ye Di, while he sat beside the bed where his wife was sleeping looking pale and sickly.

”Ye Di! I never thought you would do such a thing!” The Imperial Emperor bellowed. ”You hypnotize all the ministers and the royal guards. Even poisoning the empress... if you want the throne you could have killed us already!”

”I cannot kill you. If I do... Your ancestors will have a reason to make a move. Even though they were forbidden to make a move against mortals, if their descendants were harmed there would be nothing to protect me anymore. So keeping you two alive is the best decision to keep them at bay,” The Third Prince said.

Emperor Ye Wang didn’t expect that the reason the ancestors were not saving them was all because they are forbidden to harm mortals indiscriminately. No wonder when the First Emperor accidentally summoned his quantum beast and almost caused harm in the empire, the First Empress immediately made a move. They had only appeared when the Crown Prince almost destroyed the empire but didn’t come when the news about the Crown Princess falling into a coma.

None of their actions lead to causing harm or hurting anyone from the empire. If the only reason they were allowed to descend and return to the Empire was to help them increase their strength and knowledge then it’s normal they would not be allowed to directly get involved with the lives of mortals. Now the emperor understood why there is no help from their ancestors despite them being imprisoned like this.

Thinking of this fact, the emperor suddenly realized something unexpected and finally looked at the third prince with a gloomy and guarded expression.

”To know what the Gods can and cannot do in the realm of mortals? What the hell are you? Are you truly the real Third Prince!?” Emperor Ye Wang questioned.

The Third Prince, Ye Di, smiled. However, this smile felt icy and evil. Something within him had replaced the original soul of the third prince and completely turned this third prince evil.

”What is your majesty talking about? Of course, I am the third prince. The one and only third prince. Also the person who would replace you and take over your throne~,” said Ye Di.
