I Love Destroying Worlds' Plot

Chapter 2194: 25.84 Lone Black Star - Three Hours

At the command center, everyone including the grand duke was stunned when they heard what the crown princess had just said, especially the part about the mutated Zerg Prince coming off him. This meant that this invasion happening at this time was all because the Zerg Prince had found Ye Caoyun was here and came here all for him. They all knew that the Zerg Race can increase their power and aid their evolution through eating something filled with energy.

This is also the reason why they eat humans. For them humans, especially awakened ones, were their greatest nourishment. That’s why most sentinel and guides who were lost in the battlefield were never found. They were either eaten by the zerg race or they were lost forever within the endless space. So when the crown princess said that this mutated Zerg Prince came for him, no one was surprised.

The Crown Princess, Ye Caoyun, is now considered the strongest awakened guide in the empire and he is even stronger than ordinary guides as he was the disciple of the First Empress, who is also a guide and is capable of fighting even sentinels.

The Grand Duke had spoken, ”Since it comes for you then there is no need to hold back now. We must do everything in our power to kill it!”

”Father, this Zerg Prince had a powerful mental ability that can hypnotize people near it. It is better to not go near it and attack from a distance. If you need to fight in close combat you will need the mental protection of a guide. But ordinary guides cannot go close to him. I will go protect you and the soldiers,” Ye Caoyun said.

When the Grand Duke and all other sentinels heard about this they actually couldn’t believe it at all. After all, except for the legend of the First Empress, no other Guide was capable of controlling their mental energy as precise and stable as Empress Anjing. Now someone else is telling them that he can do it, but his age is simply too young to be believable that even his own father didn’t immediately accept this as a fact.

”Yun’er, do you know what you are saying?” The Grand Duke asked with a stern expression on his face. ”I am the commander of this fleet. The lives of all soldiers are in my hands. I cannot just give this power over to you even if you are my son unless... Unless you can truly protect them as you said.”

”So Ye Caoyun... I am now asking you not as your father but as your superior. Can you truly use your mental energy to protect them and yourself during close combat? You must give me a serious answer.” The commander of the fleet said.

Even though Ye Caoyun knew his capabilities the people in this room didn’t. He used to be a highgod so his control over his power even though cannot be called perfect is top notch. The only problem he had at this moment is that he had no way to replenish his used up mental energy without a resonance from his fated pair. His partner hadn’t arrived yet, and this enemy had already come by the door. So he can only answer his father with all the honesty his current capabilities can bear.

The Crown Princess, Ye Caoyun spoke, ”I do not promise what I am currently incapable of. My range is 60 meters, stable and beyond 100 meters, my mental energy would disappear. I can protect anyone within the 60 meter radius around me perfectly, beyond that my mental energy would ripple and it might lessen the protective effect 1 percent per meter. When it has reached 100 m and beyond then you will be out of my range of protection.”

”60 meters. How is the range of mental attack of the Zerg Prince?” The Grand Duke asked.

Ye Caoyun answers, ”If he didn’t change since the last time we met then his range would be at 20 meters the most. A Zerg Prince is closer to a sentinel in build. Mental strength isn’t their forte, but if during the few weeks it was out, I do not know if he had eaten something to make himself powerful. But at most 50 meters. Male Zergs are incapable of fully utilizing their mental strength like sentinels does, instead it possessed unimaginable physical strength.”

Everyone who had heard the explanation all fell in their deep thoughts. They finally realized that this Zerg Prince is most likely just a giant sentinel who can use mental attack at close range. The crown princess had estimated its mental strength’s capabilities but they do not know how powerful this Zerg Prince is in physical strength. The strongest among them is 3S which is their commander. But a commander will not enter the battlefield unless there is no other choice.

The Grand Duke suddenly said, ”I will enter the frontlines. As my second in command, Shu Yang will handle the command.”

”Commander! You can’t! How about trying with a group of 2S sentinels first!?” The second-in-command, Shu Yang suggested.

However, the Crown Princess frowned a bit when this suggestion was made and everyone noticed it.

”Your highness, the crown princess, is there something wrong with my plan?” Lieutenant Shu Yang asked.

Ye Caoyun said, ”Level suppression. That Zerg Prince is at least 3S-grade as a sentinel. If you only send 2S-grade sentinels just the level suppression in aura can leave them vulnerable. We need father to block that level suppression.”

”Is there no other way?” Lieutenant Shu Yang asked.

The Crown Princess, Ye Caoyun said, ”Buy some time. Contact the Crown Prince and tell him to hurry over. I can keep this Zerg Prince here but only for a day. After that I might faint, but as long as Brother Qin arrives, he can kill it.”

Then Ye Caoyun approached his father and checked on him. It was only then did he realize why the second-in-command, Lieutenant Shu Yang didn’t want the Grand Duke to enter the frontlines. In the last enemy’s invasion, he had suffered an attack in his spine and it could have been cured as long as he stayed in a medicine pod overnight. The Grand Duke chose not to enter as the moment the fleet lost its head, it would be easy to lose. Right now, the grand duke is the only pillar of support this whole fleet has.

”Father, you...!” The crown princess couldn’t help but glare at his father for hiding something like this. This is a serious injury and it cannot be left unhealed.

Lord Ye Jie smiled helplessly at his son, ”Yun’er, don’t tell your dad.”

But the Crown Princess ignored him and used his healing ability to cure his father. This is an ability unique to him as he is a cultivator born with a single wood root. His qi is capable of healing almost all kinds of injuries. However, he couldn’t fully heal this wound as it needs time for the body to get used to the newly regenerated parts and it would take at least days to stabilize it before the merging can be completed.

Ye Caoyun said, ”Father, you must enter the Medicine Pod. I have healed most of the serious injuries. This time you only need to stay for a few hours to be fully healed. You need at least three hours. Father, trust me in just these three hours. Once you have completely healed yourself you take over and within these three hours, I will listen to Lieutenant Shu’s commands.”

”Then once you are healed we start the plan on exterminating the Zerg Prince as long as we hold on for a whole day, Qinya would arrive to take over the rest. We cannot stay defensive this time. That Zerg Prince for him to come here for me meant he is about to enter evolution but lacking energy. He came here to eat and not for war.”

Sensing the seriousness in his son’s voice, the grand duke felt that this wasn’t the time to hesitate. The more they hesitate the closer that mutated Zerg Prince would get to their headquarters and in this place there were too many injured soldiers who cannot defend themselves. That’s why no enemies must come closer or these wounded soldiers would just end up as feeds to these zergs.

Lieutenant Shu Yang and the other leaders of the team also think that the plan of the Crown Princess is the best one at this moment. Only when the commander had returned to its full healed state would they have a chance to defeat the Zerg Prince. It was just buying time for three hours. They can definitely do it.

”General, you must rest!” Lieutenant Shu Yang said.

The other leaders also nod their heads at this moment. The Grand Duke looked at every single one in the room, his subordinates, his second-in-command and finally his son. He can feel their determination and confidence within their gaze. In the end, the general could only sighed.

Lord Ye Jie said, ”Alright. I agree to enter the Medicine Pod.”
