Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Upon hearing this, Wen Yu’s eyes widened immediately, staring at Golden Armor as if he couldn’t believe what he had just said.

After a while, Golden Armor spoke again.

”It’s true. The Dominator left long before the second Sequence Member-Ranking Battle, and I don’t know exactly where he went. Recently, all affairs on Earth have been managed by me. Considering your strength has grown to this extent, even if I issued a wanted order for you, without a mandatory order from the Dominator, no Treasure Land Protector would want to play the hero.”

The tragic death of Treasure Land Protector Number 7, Lin Sai, was still vivid in his mind. Lin Sai was among the most outstanding of the Treasure Land Protectors, and yet three years ago, he was slain by Wen Yu on the tiered battle ground. After this event, no one else wanted to provoke Wen Yu.

This is also the reason why, despite Wen Yu causing such a commotion recently, no one came knocking at his door to investigate.

Wen Yu didn’t know what expression to make for a moment; he just stared blankly at Golden Armor, unable to react.

”Don’t blame me for telling you late. In fact, it doesn’t make much difference whether this matter was told late or not. Although I issued the wanted order, the Dominator merely asked a few Treasure Land Protectors to investigate you. Looking back, it’s likely the Dominator doesn’t know about the following incidents, but you must maintain necessary vigilance. In fact, you have been hiding pretty well during this time.”

The implication in Golden Armor’s words was undoubtedly for Wen Yu to maintain the status quo, so his job would be easier.

After all, Golden Armor is overseeing everything now, and if the Dominator returns to find Earth in chaos, in his fury, the Dominator could very well punish Golden Armor first.

Hearing this, Wen Yu fell silent immediately. After a while, he revealed a slight bitter smile.

”This might be for the best...”

Initially hearing the news of the Dominator’s absence, Wen Yu did have some thoughts, but in fact, what Golden Armor said made sense. Whether Golden Armor told him or not made little difference.

For Wen Yu, aside from the Dominator’s threat, there were no major concerns, and any minor issues could be handled by his soul pet.

Everything in the tiered battle ground could be managed without Wen Yu having to show up; the will of Earth was still not enough for him to return. The significance of this intelligence was perhaps akin to postponed execution for years.

It had no real impact on the current situation.

”Actually, I’m not here just to tell you about this.”

Once Wen Yu digested the information, Golden Armor spoke again.

...

”This morning, the Demigod went to see Protector Number 2. I don’t know what they discussed, but I suspect it must be related to you.”

These Treasure Land Protectors are not aloof immortals. Once, Wen Yu bribed several Treasure Land Protectors, so it wasn’t surprising that the Demigod could connect with them.

Furthermore, Wen Yu’s heavy suppression of the Demigod recently made it obvious why the Demigod sought out Treasure Land Protector Number 2 at this time—clearly to seek help from him to resolve his current troubling situation.

”Protector Number 2’s strength isn’t weaker than mine, but without the Dominator around, he probably wouldn’t take action against you. Honestly, he doesn’t have a guaranteed victory against you. However, I still want to remind you, if he really does come, be careful. If things get bad and you have to use Number One, I may not be able to cover for you this time.”

Wen Yu nodded, indicating he understood.

Number One is Wen Yu’s only trump card against the Dominator’s assassins, a card that must be saved for the critical moment. In reality, Wen Yu was a bit impulsive when he used Number One to kill Lin Sai last time. Fortunately, at that time, it was Golden Armor who was in charge, which kept things under wraps.

But it couldn’t happen this time, and more specific responses would need Wen Yu to decide based on the situation.

Overall, Golden Armor’s words briefly dissipated the shadow of the Dominator from above Wen Yu’s head, which was indeed good news.

As Golden Armor finished speaking, his figure vanished, while Wen Yu just gazed into the distance, after a while, he patted Faceless on the shoulder.

”Let’s go back for now; there shouldn’t be any problems here.”

After speaking, Wen Yu’s body suddenly burst into flames, turning into ashes in a short time.

Consciousness returned to Maple Leaf Town.

Wen Yu sat in a chair, contemplating for a long time, before issuing the latest command to Mountain Kui.

”Drive the Demigod’s forces out from the tiered battle ground with all your might.”

Since the Dominator is not around, Wen Yu’s actions can evidently be more ambitious. This time, even Faceless can act with great fanfare, and once he does so with all the power inherited from Wen Yu, all of the Demigod’s resistance will surely prove futile.

The gap in power made the Demigod’s minor moves insignificant in Wen Yu’s eyes.

As for the secret discussion between the Demigod and Treasure Land Protector Number 2, Wen Yu briefly considered it but chose to ignore the matter.

Whatever they discussed, Golden Armor didn’t know, nor did Wen Yu, so naturally, Wen Yu couldn’t make any specific defensive preparations. Against such matters, he could only be adaptable when things came to him.

After sorting through this chaotic intelligence, Wen Yu finally closed his eyes, carefully sensing the energy flowing within his body.

With the Level Lock broken, the path to promotion was now clear, and Wen Yu’s uniqueness meant he had no need to advance through the Exchange Stone Pillar.

At that moment, with a mere thought, Wen Yu advanced from Level 7 to Level 8.

His attention turned to the newly generated skill.

The newly generated skill of the little soul beast was SSS-Class.

With the elevation of Wen Yu’s divine beast innate talent, to describe it in a fantastical way, one could say that his qualifications were continually rising, and the synergy effect led to the little soul beast’s skill level continually rising during advancement, from starting at merely D-Class and C-Class to now SSS-Class.

This was partly due to the influence of level and partly due to the innate advantages of the divine beast kind.

However, this SSS-Class skill called Pitch-dark Energy Force might be a main combat skill for someone else, but for Wen Yu, he didn’t even read the skill description before crushing the skill orb into pieces with a wave of his hand.

Useless stuff... Wen Yu could even create this kind of slightly complex SSS-Class skill himself, so he didn’t even have the inclination to copy and sell it.

Gazing at the few skill scrolls in his space ring, Wen Yu pondered for a moment before taking out the Soul Balance Scale (Species-specific Esoteric Level, Active Skill).
