Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

As that silhouette penetrated the teleportation array formation, another figure in a black robe followed closely behind, stepping out of the formation.

Wen Yu’s Soul Perception swept across instantly, thus taking in the entire scenario...

”Master, Tang Haofei has fled...”

Mountain Kui’s voice was unprecedentedly deep, yet Wen Yu only squinted his eyes. As the silhouette flickered once more, Wen Yu instantly appeared at the scene of the incident.

The originally luxurious mansion had long been flattened by Cloud Puppet’s army attack, and Tang Haofei’s figure had vanished without a trace. Wen Yu looked at the ground as his gaze gradually turned icy cold.

About thirty seconds after Wen Yu returned, Mountain Kui arrived late, glanced at the messy ground, and then at the silent Wen Yu, finally lowering his head slowly.

”Where did he teleport to?”

Wen Yu’s voice reached Mountain Kui’s ears, and after briefly accessing permissions for inquiry, Mountain Kui replied.

”Earth, France, Paris...”

”Who helped him escape?”

”I don’t know, according to the information, it seems... it was a Soul Puppet...”

Mountain Kui’s voice grew smaller, yet the expected shock and anger from Wen Yu did not occur. Wen Yu merely uttered a simple ”Got it” without any emotional fluctuations.

The event had already transpired, dwelling on it was pointless.

Wen Yu was currently vexed whether to pursue Tang Haofei, but after pondering for a moment, Wen Yu abandoned the thought.

Earth, Wen Yu couldn’t return—there was the stronghold of the Treasure Land Protector, which was also the stronghold of the Dominator, and additionally Earth was the main stage of Earth’s will. If Wen Yu returned, the worst-case scenario was facing attacks from all sides, with enemies lurking everywhere, including multiple Level 12 threats. Wen Yu would be out of his mind to chase Tang Haofei back to Earth!

The Dominator, like the sword of Damocles, was securely locked above Wen Yu’s head, rendering Wen Yu’s power ineffective!

This was also why Wen Yu didn’t activate Number One upon receiving the information—Number One, the sole ace by Wen Yu’s side that might contend against the Dominator’s assassin, but strictly speaking, Number One was merely a single-use item, a consumable...

If the worst situation occurred, the Dominator wanted to eliminate Wen Yu, Number One would provide Wen Yu with the time to escape to the Demon Realm—there was no possibility of winning a fight, Number One couldn’t be retrieved into the Soul Realm space, and if Wen Yu left, what would the Dominator do to Number One is evident? Therefore, theoretically, the moment Number One was exposed would be the moment of its demise!

Last time, it was due to the Golden Armor at his side that Wen Yu could deploy Number One. That was in a deserted desert, while this time, it was in the main city of the tiered battle ground! Wen Yu shrunk under the spectators’ gaze.

Deploying Number One, Wen Yu couldn’t ensure whether Number One’s presence might be exposed, doing so would be like exchanging Wen Yu’s ultimate life-saving card, even his life, for Tang Haofei’s life.

A loss in trade!

Recalling the encounter with Tang Four in the World of the Heart’s Image upon returning, Wen Yu couldn’t breathe vent out this repressed anger!

It was evident that the opposition between Wen Yu and Tang Haofei was certain! Wen Yu couldn’t allow Tang Haofei to wreak havoc outside, while Tang Haofei equally couldn’t watch Wen Yu suppress him.

This was indeed a formidable enemy! But on reflection, it was an enemy Wen Yu brewed with his own hands...

Upon pondering, Wen Yu’s gaze gradually turned icy and ferocious.

Everything, merely because Wen Yu softened his heart.

When Wen Yu realized Tang Haofei had a problem, he shouldn’t have thought of saving Tang One anymore, but should have directly struck fiercely, cleanly erasing all traces of Tang Haofei’s existence!

Out of past feelings and relations, Wen Yu didn’t do so, instead, he wanted to keep Tang Haofei, to see if there was a method to save Tang One—hopefully even stripping the personality would be good...

This was also why Wen Yu didn’t crush the Life and Death Battle Execution skill sphere—at that time, who knew whether eliminating Tang One would cause the Life and Death Battle Execution to vanish, given Tang Two strictly speaking had no bond with Wen Yu, Wen Yu only cared for Tang One...

Therefore, in Wen Yu’s view, directly killing and crush the skill sphere were no different.

The bitter fruit brewed by oneself, Wen Yu decisively swallowed it himself; after a brief thought, he no longer harbored any regretful and resentful emotions, merely silently making up his mind.

Upon next meeting, there will inevitably be life and death!

...

”Finish up the cleanup!”

Wen Yu informed Mountain Kui, then immediately returned to his secret chamber in the tiered battle ground.

He sat on the familiar seat, pondering over the pros and cons of Tang Haofei’s escape.

Their mutual antagonism, Wen Yu already had a mental estimate, but now the more interesting situation was—Wen Yu could not chase down Tang Haofei, nor dared Tang Haofei provoke Wen Yu, the two were like parallel lines, hard to intersect in the short term, he would only hide on Earth, accumulate strength, awaiting his day of revenge.

This period, Wen Yu simply set as five years—considering the efficiency of breaking limits with Life and Death Battle Execution, combined with Wen Yu’s existing skill system, five years was roughly a demarcation point.

After five years, Tang Haofei would possess the ability to confront Wen Yu on the main battlefield, in other words, the impact of Tang Haofei’s escape on Wen Yu will surface after five years.

However, there exists an additional issue, concerning Number One.

The tiered battle ground is Wen Yu’s territory, not an empty statement, primarily owing to Wen Yu possessing Number One. Even if Tang Haofei believed he possessed the capacity to eliminate Wen Yu and thus sought him out, Wen Yu, equipped with Number One, could innately remain undefeated, even obliterate Tang Haofei entirely once Number One surprised attacked, unbeknownst to Tang Haofei’s consciousness!

Just like Lin Sai then.

However, if so done, then Wen Yu’s sole card facing the Dominator loses significance utterly.

Understanding these pros and cons, Wen Yu couldn’t quickly disentangle them within a short timeframe.

Having figured these out, Wen Yu promptly calmed down, repressing the matter of Tang Haofei’s escape deep within his mind, disregarding Mountain Kui still bustling outside, swiftly exited the secret chamber and returned to Maple Leaf Town again.

Following the significant chaos in the tiered battle ground main city, it might have attracted the Treasure Land Protector’s attention—compared to Tang Haofei, Wen Yu now seemed more like a fugitive.
