Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

District 7 on Mainland Bloc Number 0158, Tang Haofei’s former hiding place, although that is now a thing of the past.

Tang Haofei’s hiding place was casually chosen by Old Tang without any mention to others. Finding a recluse in the tiered battleground is an almost impossible task; firstly, Old Tang must choose a hiding place within the main battlefield area, which means he surely is within one plot of land in District 7, and secondly, Demigod’s mutated beasts have a variety of strange capabilities. With Demigod’s sweeping search operation, finding Tang Haofei is difficult but not an impossible mission either.

It’s merely a matter of time... And the truth is that since Lord Demigod has come into power, he has always thought about having a friendly communication with Tang Haofei, so a plan to find him started years ago.

And now, it’s harvest season...

...

Tang Haofei’s little house was shattered into pieces back then by Wen Yu’s one shot of ”Pitch-dark Divine Light,” so from the outside it simply appears as a slightly larger crater. A normal person seeing this crater would only think that an intense battle took place here, not realizing this was once Tang Haofei’s hiding place.

However, the Swift that found the location is not ordinary, or rather Demigod’s preparations are not ordinary.

The Swift pecks out a test tube-like item from its wing, removes the stopper, allowing the liquid within to rapidly evaporate. Soon, the vapor that emanates from the test tube begins to change color.

From colorless to pale blue.

Upon seeing this, the Swift immediately lets out a clear chirp, with joy gleaming in its eyes, possibly thinking that it had finally made a significant contribution this time.

”Swift Number 23 reporting, Tang Haofei’s trail has been found!”

It said as much, and soon feedback came through from the communication device affixed to its wingtip.

”Coordinates of location!”

”District 7 on Mainland Bloc Number 0158, accurate coordinates XXX, XXX.”

After the simple report was completed, a voice from Swift’s superior came through the communicator: ”Are you sure the target location is Tang Haofei’s hiding place?”

Upon hearing this, the Swift froze for a moment, looked around at the surrounding crater, and only after a while did it reply.

”Just confirmed that Tang Haofei’s aura exists here...”

”Ugh!”

A sigh came back from the other end of the communicator.

The liquid Swift used can track the aura of the target person, but aura is such an elusive thing — it’s possible Tang Haofei was merely here for a short sightseeing trip, causing the reagent to react.

Things like this have occurred frequently over the years.

”Continue the mission then.”

Swift’s superior said as such, but Swift’s response brought the person across to a pause.

”Things are a bit complicated over here...”

...

The Demigod’s chef at the Paris Assembly Site is truly unconventional, at least Carmille indulged in the meal with oil dripping from her mouth, paying no heed to her lady-like image at the dining table. Meanwhile, the Demigod only smiled at Carmille, with no expression from the face under the mask.

Until the end of the meal, the Demigod poured a drink for Carmille, and under the setting sun, they chatted heartily about life, feeling quite relaxed. Yet peaceful times are always fleeting, and just as they talked about amusing incidents between Carmille and the Spirit, the communication device at the Demigod’s waist rang.

”Sorry, let me take this call first.”

The Demigod apologized as such, then turned and left, answering the call only after stepping outside.

”What’s up?”

”Sir, Tang Haofei’s trail has been found, but the situation has changed.”

...

Eventually, the Swift got an opportunity to speak directly with the Demigod.

”Environmental conditions.”

The Demigod asked concisely, and the Swift set aside its excitement and delivered an extremely detailed on-site report.

”The reagent reaction is blue, indicating Tang Haofei’s aura indeed exists here, and approximately ten minutes have passed since, without the reagent fading, suggesting Tang Haofei stayed here for a long period.”

”Around me is a gigantic explosion crater with a diameter of about a hundred meters. Although the explosion visible to the naked eye doesn’t appear powerful, upon venturing into the crater, I discovered the material in the crater has evaporated completely, the surrounding rock layers have crystallized, and the center of the crater retains extremely strong energy traces — the energy level is unknown, already exceeding the detector’s maximum detection limit.”

Upon hearing this, the Demigod’s gaze suddenly paused.

The Swift made its judgment.

”Based on observations, I believe a battle occurred here. It’s uncertain if one side is Tang Haofei, but the other side indeed possesses strength sufficient to threaten Tang Haofei and holds some sort of extraordinary fire or light-based ability. Additionally, this person should have great control over energy, at least able to perfectly confine this tremendously powerful move within a hundred-meter radius.”

”Furthermore, the battle time should have been extremely short, at least except for this large crater, there are no traces of battle around. I think there are two possibilities: first, this person was ambushed by Tang Haofei and killed with a single punch, afterward Tang Haofei relocated his hiding place; second, this person has overwhelming power compared to Tang Haofei... well, that possibility shouldn’t be big, right?”

The Swift spoke eloquently, believing he had made deductions akin to Sherlock Holmes, but he was unaware that the Demigod on the other end of the communicator was becoming increasingly dark-visaged.

Mad, someone comparable to Tang Haofei, having fire or light-type skills... does one even need to guess who this describes?

The Demigod could recite Wen Yu’s Pitch-dark Divine Light skill word for word backwards!

”That’s enough!”

The Demigod took a deep breath to remain calm, stopping the Swift’s incessant chatter and then fiercely crushed the communicator! The Swift almost got deafened from the static buzz coming from the communicator, glanced at the communicator on its shoulder, full of question marks.

Who knows who provoked Lord Demigod...

...

The Demigod at this moment lost all interest in flirting, standing still pondering for quite a while.

Whether Wen Yu has returned and taken Tang Haofei away, the Demigod couldn’t be sure, but that possibility is indeed big — at least in the Demigod’s mind, someone who could flatten Tang Haofei’s house, apart from Wen Yu, is no other choice.

What a joke, who is Old Tang? A person with high perception abilities could bear to watch someone overturn his lair? Impossible... Besides, no one would be stupid enough to actively provoke a monster that even the Demigod can’t afford to mess with!

Should such a situation emerge... his plans...

Well, the plan accounts for Wen Yu’s Soul Puppet but didn’t consider Wen Yu himself, hence variable factors arise. At this moment, the Demigod only felt the waves of turmoil in his mind, his thoughts tangled into a chaotic mess.
