Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

”Your defensive measures aren’t bad... you just picked the wrong opponent.”

Cyclops opened his huge mouth and once again spewed out a blast of violent Violent Flame. This time, without the defense shroud and the protection of the Sea King Tribe warriors, those eggs that still held a lingering breath of life were burned completely to ash.

When you do something, you finish it. If you cut the grass, you pull out the roots...

After doing all this, Cyclops finally raised his head. He flew back to Victor’s side and lightly spat out three words.

”Next one!”

A simple slaughter, yet it was only the prologue to this grand show. Wen Yu was never going to stop here! If he said he would rip out your forces by the roots, then he’d make sure not a single sprout remained!

Victor simply dipped his head slightly. After a moment, he spoke calmly to Cyclops beside him.

”Let me handle the next one...”

Hearing that, Cyclops looked at Victor in surprise, then after a while, that ugly face finally stretched into a faint smile.

”Good that you’ve figured it out... good that you’ve figured it out!”

...

Sector 5, Mainland Bloc Number 01478.

The land area was immense, vegetation lush, rainforests packed everywhere, but today, this region welcomed two uninvited guests.

”Are we really going to do it like this?”

Luo Luo lay on Star’s head, asking cautiously. Hearing that, Star just gave a heavy, fierce nod.

”Things have changed...”

”What’s changed?”

Star pondered for a moment, then still shook his head.

”I don’t know either. But if the boss says it’s different, then it’s different.”

He couldn’t quite reason it out in the short term, but he understood one thing: this world was no longer the old world, and that Earth mother who had bestowed him with divine beast species power was no longer the old Earth mother.

What the boss had said about sweeping away obstacles, eliminating future threats, and becoming the sole overlord of the tiered battle ground—Star couldn’t really grasp it. But all he needed to know was: this time, his boss was truly enraged, and the rest wasn’t something he needed to think about.

Star’s logic was simple, so this whole chain of events also became simple in his mind.

”I’ll go first. You wait for my signal. If we can talk it through, great. If we can’t, then kill! Kill every living creature on this continent!”

Luo Luo still only half understood, but that didn’t stop him from summoning a vast swarm of Ants.

The instant the Divine Territory unfolded, countless fist-sized Ants spread out in a flash. They crawled over the ground, dying it pitch-black, as if laying down a black carpet over the earth.

Once Luo Luo finished his preparations, Star grabbed him off his own head, then his body rapidly expanded. In no time, he had entered combat mode, then the Giant Dragon spread its wings and soared high, with an awe-inspiring pressure and incomparable momentum sweeping toward the deepest part of the forest!

...

”Ooo-oo... ooo-oo...”

Roars of gorillas, Monkeys, and baboons rose and fell. They stared at the black dragon shadow circling incessantly in the sky. The braver ones were still able to beat their chests and make threatening gestures, while the timid ones had already been scared shitless by the dragon’s might.

”Silence!”

An aged yet deeply intimidating voice rang out from the depths of the jungle. As the earth trembled and trees collapsed, in a few moments, a white giant ape nearly 30 meters tall slowly walked out from the deepest part of the forest.

He soothed his clansmen, then raised his head to look toward the sky. The Giant Dragon above was still circling without end, and in contrast, the giant ape slowly lowered his head.

”Lord Star...”

A humble voice came from the Old Ape’s mouth. Though low, its penetration was astonishing. As the sound carried all the way into Star’s ears, the Giant Dragon finally folded its wings and dropped straight down like a sharp sword, then halted with a sharp brake, stopping precisely above the Old Ape’s head.

Like a dark cloud shrouding the sky, everything in the Old Ape’s view was the pitch-black Scale Armor, gleaming faintly, stretching as far as the eye could see.

Thirty meters versus nearly three hundred meters! Under that huge difference in body size, the Old Ape looked utterly small and helpless in that instant.

”You know who I am?”

Star deliberately lowered his voice. Even though he was just putting on an act, in other eyes, he truly did carry some majesty and dominance.

At that, the Old Ape’s head drooped even lower. He only nodded, then forced himself to stay calm as he asked once more.

”I don’t know what business brings Lord Star here this time...”

Hearing this, Star fully folded his wings and let his massive body descend. The instant the dragon’s body met the ground, the earth cracked and quaked, trees swayed, and it was as if a Level 12 earthquake swept through the forest.

This tremor not only sent the Ape Tribe spectators fleeing in all directions; even the Old Ape facing Star staggered on his feet, his heart shivering.

”My master has officially declared war on the Demigod, and you are my first mission target. Ape Tribe, Thirteenth Autonomous District, located in Sector 5, Mainland Bloc Number 01478, harboring eight divine beast species within, with a population scale in the tens of millions...”

Star paused briefly here.

”You form the backbone of the Demigod’s forces, but you’re not part of the direct forces—only the affiliated forces...”

After reciting that like a scripture, Star widened his dragon eyes, locking tightly onto the Old Ape.

”You’re the one in charge here, right?”

”Yes... my lord...”

”Then, the time to choose has come.”

”Submit, or die!”

The dragon’s roar tore through wind and rain, and the sound wave that burst forth in an instant slammed into the Old Ape. The fur on his body was blown off like dandelion fluff, drifting far away on the wind. The sound tide didn’t abate, sweeping past the Old Ape and gouging a deep trench in the ground behind him!

The Old Ape’s heart jolted suddenly...

He spread his senses, feeling the anxious Ape Tribe members all through the jungle. After a long moment, a decision formed in his heart.

...

When Star flew back, Luo Luo was a bit confused.

Wasn’t it supposed to be a massacre? My kids are already out, and you’re showing me this?

Star instead grinned and patted Luo Luo on the head.

”Mission complete. Next location. Tsk tsk, I’ve got to say, that Old Ape really knows which way the wind blows. And it seems the Earth will’s control over these mutant beasts isn’t all that strong, huh...”

That control really does vary in strength among mutant beasts—for example, the Insect Tribe and the Sea Clan are absolute loyalists of the Earth will, and they form the core of the Demigod’s direct forces. The second tier is naturally the ordinary mutant beast hordes.

The Earth will’s influence on them exists, but whether it’s strong or weak has to be judged case by case. These are the Demigod’s affiliated forces—Wen Yu’s strategy toward these mutant creature tribes was to recruit where he should recruit, divide where he should divide, and slaughter where he should slaughter. After one full sweep, it would be clear at a glance who stood where.

As for those super gathering grounds that belong to the Demigod’s affiliated camp... to be honest, Wen Yu couldn’t even be bothered with them. Those ”whoever feeds me is my dad” types—every single brain among them spins fast. As long as the situation shifts even a little, each and every one of them will take the initiative to come cling to Wen Yu’s thigh!

As for how to tell whether those affiliated forces have truly picked a side or are just paying lip service...

Wen Yu didn’t need to know. Worst case, his soul pets could make another trip then! And next time, they wouldn’t have any choice left!
