Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Shadows shuttled between darkness, with the shadows leaping, in just a moment, Shadow arrived within the big circle range marked on the map.

As the spy leader said, this place was the territory of Soul Puppets in the main city of the tiered battlefield. Inside, besides Soul Puppets, there were no other traces of life. Accordingly, although there appeared to be no defenses, just the difference in tribes was enough to firmly keep all spies out the door.

Of course, this posed no difficulty for Shadow. With Shadow’s ability activated, he infiltrated the restricted area without being noticed by any Soul Puppet, leaving nothing but a carpet-style search.

...

Shadow’s actions were cautious, yet the progress didn’t seem slow. With his continuous activation of Shadow Shuttling, in just a week, he had already locked the target in a certain area.

That was Wen Yu’s luxurious mansion in the main city of the tiered battlefield.

The mansion occupied a vast area, appearing more luxurious than the Demigod’s palace on Earth. Unfortunately, this sincere work of Mountain Kui was never lived in by Wen Yu after its completion. It was not until Tang Haofei’s arrival that it had an owner.

Although Wen Yu left Tang Haofei in the tiered battlefield, there was an element of supervision and monitoring, but out of friendship between the two, Wen Yu did his best to find a suitable place for Tang Haofei to recuperate—like his own mansion.

In other words, Shadow indeed found the right place!

The environment within the mansion was good, with outdoor gardens, beautiful scenery, suitable for retirement. Coupled with the care of Soul Puppets, if given to ordinary people, Wen Yu’s treatment would be enough to make them jubilant, living peacefully in their old age. Unfortunately, Tang Haofei was not an ordinary person...

Shadow infiltrated the mansion, after taking a few steps, he sensed the breath of the same tribe in the air ahead.

The naked eye couldn’t see, but Shadow’s strength was indeed stronger than the concealed Cloud Puppet Clan, and therefore, he was able to detect the position of the Cloud Puppet Clan while hiding his own aura.

Shadow changed direction, took two steps, and encountered another Cloud Puppet.

The seemingly empty mansion had defenses like water-tight, numerous Cloud Puppets hung like parasols tightly covering the mansion’s sky, monitoring any possible unexpected situations.

”This is a bit tricky...”

Shadow momentarily faced a dilemma until he saw a tall Earth Puppet carrying a tray, walking toward the mansion’s interior, Shadow’s eyes lit up.

...

”Knock, knock, knock...”

The crisp knocking sound rang out, then the Earth Puppet did not wait for a voice from inside but directly pushed the door open.

Everything inside the room came into view.

The decor style was simple, but the space inside was quite large, with an overall white theme. Besides, there were huge floor-to-ceiling windows in the southeast and north directions, allowing outside light to pour through the windows, bringing comfortable natural light indoors.

There was only one person in the whole room, his complexion haggard, his forehead blue, his beard and hair unkempt, even lumps of sleep crust lingered at the corners of his eyes. Upon hearing the door open, the man did not even turn his head, just sat in the wheelchair gazing into the distance.

”Mister Tang Haofei, your lunch.”

The Earth Puppet said, then stepped forward a few steps, placing the tray onto the table. As the cover was lifted, a tempting aroma instantly wafted throughout the room.

”This is bone demon marrow seared by chef Li Ao, ancient demon heart fruit cooked by chef Lai Na, this is...”

As the Earth Puppet laid out the food one by one on the table, introducing the dish names, Tang Haofei remained silent.

”Mister, take a look, which dish would you like to try first?”

Tang Haofei said nothing. The Earth Puppet waited for a long time, then picked up the utensils from the table, cautiously brought the food to Tang Haofei’s mouth.

It wasn’t until now that Tang Haofei mechanically opened his mouth, like a puppet mechanically chewing the food, then swallowing, repeating the process...

The meal finished quickly, until all the food on the table was swallowed by Tang Haofei, the Earth Puppet put down the utensils, took out a napkin to tidy the food residue at the corner of Tang Haofei’s mouth and on his clothes before respectfully leaving.

A simple dining routine... yet somehow, it evoked a feeling of sorrow for the hero at dusk.

Shadow had long heard of Tang Haofei’s great name, but at this moment, this hero that once intimidated his own master greatly... seemed to have fallen?

...

Just moments ago, when Shadow saw the Earth Puppet carrying the tray, an idea suddenly struck him. He concealed himself within the Earth Puppet’s shadow, trying to compress his aura.

Like a star beside the bright moon, the two auras merged, Shadow’s aura instantly became inconspicuous. He intended to use this trick to break through the Cloud Puppet’s defense net, yet unexpectedly this move worked precisely, as the meal-delivering Earth Puppet directly brought him to Tang Haofei’s side!

Then there was the somewhat embarrassing feeding process even for Shadow, during which Shadow remained silent, quietly observing all around until the Earth Puppet left, and Shadow confirmed there were no hidden hands in the room, he then cautiously approached Tang Haofei.

Everything that just happened still left Shadow bewildered.

...

Until Shadow observed beside Tang Haofei for about ten minutes, he finally confirmed a fact...

Tang Haofei was indeed fallen. The current Tang Haofei had lifeless eyes, couldn’t even perform simple movements like raising his hand properly. If it weren’t for the immense blood aura emitting from him that could melt even himself, Shadow would doubt whether he was the real Tang Haofei!

Mission completed successfully, however, Shadow couldn’t quite accept the result...

It felt like punching cotton—

He stared at Tang Haofei for a long time, then connected with his master’s communication.

”Master, mission accomplished.”

”Have you found it?”

The Demigod’s tone was filled with suppressed excitement, and Shadow only responded with a ”Hmm,” then shifted the topic to depict everything he saw to the Demigod.

After the intelligence was transmitted, the Demigod remained silent for a long time.

”Fallen? How did he fall...”

He muttered words of disbelief, and after a while, the Demigod’s sudden burst of spiritual fluctuation erupted into wild laughter!

”Fallen is great! Fallen is perfect!”

”Now, come back immediately, the plan starts now!”

Tang Haofei fell, then the Demigod’s entire plan had no more obstacles! Upon receiving this news, the Demigod had no more desire to communicate with Tang Haofei...

What’s worth discussing with a fallen person?

Upon hearing this, Shadow immediately floated to the door... but suddenly, he felt a needle-like prickling sensation on his back.

Shadow halted, abruptly turned back, only to see Tang Haofei’s eyes filled with blood threads.

Danger suddenly surged, Shadow hid in the shadows of the door not knowing what action to take, until Tang Haofei slowly turned his head, accompanied by explosive sounds from his neck as if tearing, before Tang Haofei returned to his seated posture.

Shadow let out a slight breath of relief, yet the next second, a spiritual fluctuation reached Shadow’s ears.

”Help me...”
