Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

This topic was simply mentioned and then brushed aside by Lin Haifeng, who then explained some matters to Fang Bai before ending the communication.

It was only at this moment that Lin Haifeng’s face showed an indescribable fatigue.

God knows how heavy the burden on him is at this moment — Wen Yu is angry, not considering the bigger picture, and the Demigod is going crazy. He even made the decision to have warriors, who used to guard the frontline, charge into the battleground! What about Tang Haofei? Who knows where he’s carrying out the Life and Death Battle Execution, and moreover, whether Tang N is a good communicator is still up for debate. Adding on the incomprehensible Earth will...

In just one day, everything changed.

But he alone cannot disregard everything...

Because someone must remain calm.

At this moment, Lin Haifeng is like a magnet, isolating two barrels of gunpowder that have already exploded, hoping these barrels won’t cause a more intense chemical reaction.

He looked around and suddenly realized there wasn’t a teammate, not even someone to share a heartfelt conversation, to express his fragile emotions.

Lin Haifeng sat there for a long time, until the communicator in his hand rang again. He connected the call, and Fran’s voice came through.

”There’s something I need to trouble you with.”

”Go ahead.”

”Well, the transmission channel between the tiered battleground and Earth has been blocked. Now Wen Yu’s stone giants aren’t allowing us inside. Can you see if you can talk to Wen Yu and let him allow us entry?”

The Yanjing relocation is a decision set a few days ago. Even though the situation has drastically changed now, this action has not been stopped — in fact, Lin Haifeng instead instructed the Yanjing headquarters to hasten the relocation.

Earth, that’s the domain of both the Demigod and Earth’s will.

Hearing this, Lin Haifeng was briefly silent before speaking.

”I understand.”

Then he hung up the communicator, putting away his previously dejected expression.

Maybe it’s time to have a talk with Wen Yu.

...

When Lin Haifeng’s call came through, Wen Yu was comfortably basking in the sun on his balcony.

Maple Leaf Town’s environment is very nice, and today’s weather is good. Furthermore, this is the core area of Yanjing, so external matters cannot interfere here at all.

People here continue their daily lives as before, in their view, this world is still the same world, and this tiered battleground is still the same tiered battleground.

Downstairs, two boys aged six or seven were earnestly practicing the sword techniques taught by their school teacher, using wooden swords. Wen Yu, having nothing better to do, watched on, enjoying himself.

He likes this leisurely life...

Indeed, Wen Yu is quite relaxed. Even if the war was initiated by him, even if his decisions indirectly led to an uncountable number of deaths, Wen Yu remains quite relaxed.

With soul pets, and a Soul Puppet Legion, just these aspects are sufficient to support a tranquil life for Wen Yu — because from the beginning, this wasn’t a fair match!

Previously, Wen Yu considered the overall situation, plus he had no grievance with the Demigod, so he had a powerful force, yet he chose not to use it. But this time, when Wen Yu hardened his heart, he suddenly realized the so-called Demigod... the so-called Yanjing... under his force, all they can do is tremble and moan.

His soul pets, each one is an invincible existence outside, even his first batch of Soul Puppets currently possess the power to crush all sequences except Tang Haofei’s. With them, Wen Yu only needs to leisurely issue commands.

However, there’s one thing that puzzles Wen Yu. Logically, his soul pets have caused so much trouble outside, the Treasure Land Protector or Dominator should have shown up long ago, but the fact is, as the slaughter continues, those whom Wen Yu dreads haven’t appeared at all.

It’s tough for the Faceless who keeps following other soul pets around.

When Lin Haifeng’s call came through, the sword practice downstairs by the two kids had also reached its end. Seeing the two kids each return home to their mothers, Wen Yu then answered the call.

”What’s the matter now?”

”It’s about you blocking the transmission channel, do you remember the Yanjing relocation plan we discussed earlier?”

”I remember.”

”The relocation team is blocked by your Soul Puppet Legion in the tiered battleground’s main city.”

”Oh, is that so? Then I’ll notify Mountain Kui to allow passage.”

Wen Yu’s response was straightforward — the blocking of the transmission channel is not meant to guard against Lin Haifeng. This old man is smart, and importantly, he is rational. But now, being rational means having a weakness...

Thus in this war, Lin Haifeng remained neutral — and he surely will remain neutral.

Spiritual Fluctuation instantly transmitted into Mountain Kui’s mind, and shortly, the issue was resolved.

”It’s done. You’ll receive news in a few minutes.”

After Wen Yu finished speaking and was about to hang up, Lin Haifeng suddenly spoke.

”Wait, Wen Yu, I have a few more things.”

”If it’s about a cease-fire, then you don’t need to say it. After this, there can be no more manpower of the Demigod in the tiered battleground.”

Wen Yu said calmly, but the determination within made Lin Haifeng fall completely silent.

”Then, let me tell you some figures.”

”If just one day ago, the Level Lock between level 7 and 8 was considered 10% unlocked, now, it is considered 20% unlocked. The consequences you’ve caused in one day are equivalent to several years of effort by the Demon Tribe!”

”I’ve seen today’s intelligence, do you know how many of the Demigod’s men you’ve killed now?”

Upon hearing this, Wen Yu narrowed his eyes.

”I don’t know, nor do I need to know.”

”One-twentieth... only one-twentieth, if you count those mutant creature tribes you’ve driven away from the Demigod’s forces, you’ve essentially resolved one-tenth of the Demigod’s forces in the tiered battleground...”

”One day, resolving one-tenth, you’re quite capable, with this, in ten days, your goal can be achieved.”

”But unfortunately, what’s going to shatter first isn’t the Demigod’s forces in the tiered battleground, but the Level Lock, the Level 7 to Level 8 Level Lock can’t withstand your slaughter!”

”So, Wen Yu, for the sake of this world, for all the living beings, I, Lin Haifeng, put my old face on the line to plea with you today.”

”Stop.”

Lin Haifeng spoke earnestly, clearly explaining the pros and cons to Wen Yu, but in the face of Lin Haifeng’s plea, Wen Yu merely calmly uttered three words.

”I refuse.”

Having said that, Wen Yu immediately hung up the call.
