Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Just two words, yet Shadow could hear desperation and sorrow filled in this spiritual fluctuation...

A despair towards life, even a yearning for death, Shadow fell into silence, recalling the former prestige of Tang Haofei— for someone like him, this situation might be even more cruel than death.

”Master, Tang Haofei is pleading for my help.”

”Huh? What did you say?”

The Demigod hadn’t yet escaped the joy of Tang Haofei’s downfall when another piece of news came from Shadow’s mouth.

”So, this means Tang Haofei was ruined by Wen Yu and then imprisoned? It shouldn’t be like this, considering the attitude these soul puppets have towards Tang Haofei, this doesn’t seem right...”

The Demigod was lost in thought until another ”Help me” came through, prompting him to push the doubts to the back of his mind, squinting in deliberation for a while before delivering this command.

”Go and check it out, communicate with him.”

Curiosity made the Demigod make a ’reckless’ decision. Shadow naturally had no reason to refuse, so he restarted the Shadow Leap, appearing before Tang Haofei.

...

Getting closer now, Shadow could feel the pitiful state of Tang Haofei more clearly.

Eyes bloodshot, as if he had just cried, though his clothes were clean and tidy, perhaps because the soul puppet servants regularly tended to him, yet thinking of Tang Haofei lying naked like a dead pig on the bed, at the mercy of others, sent a shiver down Shadow’s spine.

This state, it’d be better to be dead...

”So, what’s your problem?”

Following the Demigod’s instruction, Shadow’s first question went straight to the core, hearing this transmission, Tang Haofei’s eyes immediately lit up—like stagnant water suddenly rippling.

”Who are you...”

Still weak spiritual fluctuations, only now Shadow saw Tang Haofei’s way of discovering him—strictly speaking, Tang Haofei hadn’t directly seen Shadow’s position, perhaps he sensed something in his heart, so after the servant left, he immediately spread the spiritual fluctuation, letting it sweep over the entire room, simultaneously sending out the words ”Help me.”

Like right now, Shadow was beside Tang Haofei, yet Tang Haofei wasn’t directly looking at Shadow, his eyes darting aimlessly, unable to pinpoint Shadow’s exact location.

Hearing Tang Haofei’s query, Shadow pondered for a moment, until the Demigod’s voice came to his mind: ”Let me talk to him.”

Shadow lowered his guard, and as another consciousness invaded his thoughts, the one occupying Shadow’s body immediately switched to the Demigod himself.

”I am the Demigod.”

He stated.

...

Tang Haofei and the Demigod didn’t have much of a connection, nor too many grievances, regarding the troubles the Demigod has caused Yanjing during this time, even Tang Two didn’t much understand, given the current situation, even if Tang Two did understand, he probably wouldn’t say much anyway. So, at this moment, Tang Two just seemed to be clutching at a straw, repeating the words from before.

”Help me...”

”You need to first tell me what your problem is, then tell me how I should rescue you.”

Tang Haofei was impatient—the idea of wanting to snatch Tang Haofei away from the main city of the tiered battleground under Wen Yu’s defense was certainly akin to ascending to heaven!

Old Tang was silent for a moment, then spoke slowly, he simply mentioned the backlash from the cost of power, then put forth a ”rescue” plan.

”Kill me... once isn’t enough, then twice, twice isn’t enough, then thrice... as long as another personality is reborn, I’ll be liberated!”

Tang Two stated, not heeding Tang One’s opposition within his mind, he decided quickly.

Since living was worse than death, then it might be better to surrender this body, watching as Tang N regains the former prestige! Perhaps for Tang One, this choice isn’t the best solution, but Tang Two didn’t care.

In his eyes, he is Tang Haofei, Tang One is Tang Haofei, even Tang N is Tang Haofei! Since everyone is Tang Haofei... does it really matter who controls this body?

Tang Two was already obsessed... he couldn’t forget being fed meal by meal like a waste, couldn’t forget being stripped naked, washed, and dressed by soul puppets; more importantly, he couldn’t forget the glory that once belonged to him!

And the Demigod summed up the cause and effect, was rather in no hurry, for this simply wasn’t an equal negotiation!

”What can I get out of this?”

He asked, and Tang Two briefly hesitated, offering his bargaining chip.

”Wen Yu, I can help you counterbalance Wen Yu!”

Offering life wasn’t possible, besides if the plan succeeded, the one in power would be Tang N, wanting Tang N of unknown character to serve the Demigod, act as his underling? Save that.

Thus, after pondering left and right, Tang Two could only bring out Wen Yu as the card.

”Why would I want you to counterbalance Wen Yu?”

The Demigod seemed to laugh in disdain, but at this moment, his heart did ripple.

”Isn’t Earth’s will wanting to deal with Wen Yu? Wen Yu has already returned, and since you are Earth’s will’s faithful hound, surely you must be troubled by Wen Yu too? I’m different, I have the ability to defeat Wen Yu!”

”Do you remember the time you saved me and took me to see the will of Earth? Didn’t you see what it meant? Just wanting us two to fight! I disagreed before, but now, as long as you save me, I’ll do it!”

Tang Two spoke decisively, he himself didn’t want to be enemies with Wen Yu... but in this matter, Tang Two was compelled. Three months ago, when Wen Yu perceived the essence of the cost of power, brief murderous intent was directed at him, once Tang N breaks free from the cage, he would surely face Wen Yu’s pursuit and slaughter, and with Wen Yu’s presence, Tang N couldn’t act freely, both being mutual troubles, their positions naturally opposed, Tang Two spoke elegantly, but in reality, he just took the inevitable truth as the bargaining chip.

Aside from this, Tang Two seemed to have no other bargaining chips.

The Demigod merely contemplated constantly hidden in the dark, while Tang Two closed his eyes at that moment.

Tang One in the world of the heart’s image had already gone mad, frantically wrecking the ground, attempting to release Tang Three, but when Tang Two entered the world of the heart’s image, Tang One was swiftly captured in the power disparity, then sealed beside Tang Four by Tang Two.

All this happened in a very short amount of time, when Tang Two opened his eyes again, the Demigod already had an answer.

”How can I be sure you’re not deceiving me?”

Tang Haofei was briefly silent, then spoke.

”Because, I am Tang Haofei...”

Upon hearing this, the Demigod immediately chuckled.

”Then I agree to this, besides that, I also need you to help me handle three tasks in the future, unconditionally, no limitations, but must be within your capabilities.”

Tang Two accepted readily without thinking! As for whether the Tang N in power later could accomplish it, that wasn’t Tang Two’s concern...

”So the final question, how can I kill you?”

This matter was the most troublesome—although Tang Two had become a wasted person, the physical foundation was still there, not only Shadow but even if the Demigod himself were here, he’d be unable to touch a slick of Tang Haofei’s skin, and Tang Two, after prompting, realized this too, he was just silent for a moment, then spoke.

”This, you’ll have to solve yourself...”
