Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

”So you see, doing it this way achieves the same effect, and saves a lot of bloody conflict.”

”The effect isn’t the same... forget it, do as you see fit.”

At this moment, Wen Yu truly wanted to say Lin Haifeng, your heart has softened... but midway through, Wen Yu swallowed these words.

Doing things ruthlessly is easy to say, but in truth, some matters genuinely test human conscience and the steadfast beliefs and boundaries one adheres to.

”Then it’s decided, have the Cloud Puppet come find me. Once the Cloud Puppet arrives, the plan will instantly start! This time, no matter what, I’ll disgust the Demigod fiercely!”

Lin Haifeng declared boldly, yet opposite him, Wen Yu simply hung up the communication first, causing Lin Haifeng to feel slightly awkward. He set down the communicator, glanced at Victor still snoring away, and after a while, sat beside Victor and tugged at Victor’s tail.

”Meow~~~”

Victor instantly bared his teeth, opening his ”bloody maw” at Lin Haifeng.

”What, looking to mooch a meal off me?”

Victor gave Lin Haifeng a sideways look, then suddenly disappeared.

He left.

...

It was only after Victor had disappeared for about half an hour that Lin Haifeng finally rose from the sofa, looked around the spacious office, and let out a sigh.

Afterward, he walked to the desk, picked up the communicator, and dialed another number.

”It’s Fran.”

”Fran... there’s been a development on Earth. You should bring people back, and take the stuff from Yanjing to the tiered battle ground.”

”Hmm... does this mean Yanjing is being abandoned?”

Fran was well aware of the disputes between the Demigod and Yanjing, and upon hearing Lin Haifeng’s decision, immediately understood that the trend seemed unfavorable for Yanjing.

”Yes, that kid... his methods are too ruthless...”

Lin Haifeng’s tone was filled with an inexplicable sentiment; only after expressing his feelings did he speak again.

”Also, there’s no one around you, right?”

”Just myself.”

”Then I want to ask you for a favor.”

”Go ahead.”

”Here’s the deal...”

...

Wen Yu and Lin Haifeng acted swiftly. Once the plan was discussed, Wen Yu immediately sent a message to the Cloud Puppet, and the Cloud Puppet returned from Eternal Sky City to the tiered battle ground.

For the decades since Tang Haofei woke up, the Cloud Puppet had stayed in Eternal Sky City — after Tang Haofei was awakened, Wen Yu felt it was better to have this mighty tool under his control, so he ordered the Cloud Puppet to secretly seize control of Eternal Sky City — essentially turning it into a Soul Puppet.

But over the years, the Cloud Puppet continually clashed intellectually with the researchers left by Lin Haifeng in Eternal Sky City, only managing to seize about half of the control of Eternal Sky City.

But it didn’t matter... before this order was issued, Wen Yu hadn’t received the tiered battle ground, and after acquiring it, the strategic value of Eternal Sky City confined to Earth’s homeland seemed less significant.

Moreover, considering the current limited significance of Earth’s homeland to Wen Yu, and with the realization that the Demigod possessed the Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill, Wen Yu, who already controlled half of Eternal Sky City, chose to abandon it as the Cloud Puppet retreated.

Wen Yu’s fundamental base remained within the tiered battle ground, and nowhere else; Lin Haifeng’s plan to move Yanjing’s assets to the tiered battle ground was also what Wen Yu had to do.

The logic was identical to Lin Haifeng’s.

Back to the topic, once the Cloud Puppet returned, it did not linger long at the tiered battle ground’s main city. Receiving Mountain Kui’s message, the Cloud Puppet headed to the frontline main battleground, converged with the Corpse Puppet, and after a brief discussion with Lin Haifeng, the plan was initiated the next day.

This action truly was without any warning, however, neither Wen Yu nor Lin Haifeng anticipated that this move would not only bring the conflict between Yanjing and the Demigod to the forefront, but also ignite another powder keg!

...

”You can’t do this!”

”Bang!”

Moka slammed the table into fragments and then forcefully breathed, attempting to quell the anger in his heart.

Across from him, Fang Bai and the Corpse Puppet just calmly watched the irate Moka, and after a while, Fang Bai spoke.

”Orders from above. Although I don’t know exactly what father wants to do, his decision-making rarely goes wrong. Moka, hey, since things are as they are, take your men and withdraw from the main battlefield...”

Fang Bai spoke sincerely, and the truth was that his relationship with Moka was not as acerbic as Lin Haifeng’s was with the Demigod.

Moka, the Chief Commanding Officer for the Demigod faction at the frontline battlefield, Fang Bai, the Chief Commanding Officer for the Yanjing faction at the frontline battlefield, although affiliated with different powers, had developed a camaraderie through the years that couldn’t be easily disrupted by a single directive from above.

High-level relationships were affairs of the upper echelons, but the warriors who resided long-term at the frontline battlefield had no such elaborate schemes.

”Fang Bai, with our years of friendship, you should know that without the main battleground, the men under my command would erupt with rage. Without the fight, there’s no avenue to become stronger; without a way to grow stronger, it’s just waiting for death. Let alone the loss of three layers of troops once we leave the main battleground, just the wrath of my men alone isn’t something I can quell. If a mutiny occurs, none of us can bear this responsibility! I don’t think Commander Lin would make such a foolish decision.”

No one understood the critical importance of the main battleground better than the three present — the current social economic system was calculated and settled using magic crystals, and the primary source of magic crystals was the main battleground. Without this territory, how do you expect to develop? To grow? Without money, what lofty dreams can you entertain!

The main battleground provided a way to grow stronger, an economic source; it’s not exaggerated to say that it was the foundation for a faction’s existence.

But unfortunately, Wen Yu was well-prepared for all of this.

Fang Bai remained silent, while the Corpse Puppet merely smiled. With a gentle wave, as the Gale swept over, the rooftop of their location was suddenly blown off. Moka was baffled, while the Corpse Puppet simply pointed overhead.

”What you mentioned, we’ve already prepared.”

Moka looked up in astonishment and then saw dark clouds hovering in the sky!

Countless thunder-lightning-filled clouds wrapped around the entire District 7 Outpost tightly, even with Moka’s Sequence-class strength, he felt insignificant and powerless amidst the thunder-light.

The chilling wind blew by, and Moka felt a fierce murderous intent brewing overhead. This murderous intent was utterly undisguised, like a sharp blade hovering by his neck, making Moka’s hair stand on end!
