Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

The allocation of war loot between Yanjing and the Demigod side on the main battlefield follows a specific formula—first divided among the three major forces, then further distributed to individuals. In this process, soldiers fighting on the front lines receive a portion of the loot, while nearly 70% of the remainder is transferred to the private stocks of the major powers.

After all, the bulk of expenses lies in public livelihood projects, such as Yanjing—construction of infrastructure, investment in scientific research, production and development of military equipment, children’s education, cultivation of reserve forces—all these are part of the expenditure of the powers, complementing the frontline soldiers. Yanjing provides them with the most advanced battle equipment, the best retirement services, and the most comprehensive security. However, how does Yanjing recover its costs? Isn’t it still about the loot quotas from the main battlefield!

It’s essentially a transaction between Yanjing and the frontline soldiers. Yanjing provides tools and services in exchange for the combat results of the frontline soldiers.

This transaction cannot be judged by who loses or gains; it can only be seen as a win-win situation.

But for the frontline soldiers, they actually do not require much magic crystals.

The combat equipment is distributed by the higher-ups, and their physical fitness has reached its peak. Only if they wish to further improve by buying some rare items will they need some magic crystals. The remaining spending avenues are really not that many.

In other words, every soldier fighting on the front lines belongs to the category of the wealthy.

And in the sub-district outpost base, there are also stores opened by various forces, thus forming an economic chain and cycle.

But for the Demigod, there are still some specific issues within this.

Among the Demigod’s underlings, the largest in number is the massive mutant beast tribe. To avoid internal strife and attrition among the mutant beast tribe, the Demigod issued a command years ago prohibiting large-scale hunting.

This is to maximize the war potential of their side. In some sense, this method is definitely a good policy—the vast territory of the tiered battleground provides ample living space. In just a few years, the number of mutant beast tribes has shown explosive growth!

This also forms the basis of the contest between the Demigod and Lin Haifeng, with the Demigod gaining the upper hand!

But this leads to another problem—where does the food for the mutant beasts come from?

A small portion still follows the former food chain, while the majority has changed their diet.

The Demon Tribe—they feed on the Demon Tribe, they rely on the Demon Tribe for survival. The amount of food consumed by the countless mutant beasts every day is vast, and most of the Demon Race Corpses were produced on the main battlefield—for this, the Demigod even gave up a portion of the magic crystal allocation.

So once the tiered battleground gets cut off, the Demigod can easily foresee the predicament they are facing.

Firstly, their few super gathering points will definitely first face economic collapse—without income channels, how can the Demigod support the numerous professionists? How can they support the numerous military affiliated personnel with no combat power or production capability? Release them? Then they truly might as well turn to embrace Yanjing.

Never mind loyalty or not, for the human-dominated super gathering points, having sustenance is a priority. This is the Wang Dao; even if the Demigod can stabilize the upper ranks of these gathering points, what about the middle and lower tier soldiers? Without the battlefield, where do I go to become stronger, and without becoming stronger, am I not just waiting to die?

This is entirely a vicious cycle.

That’s why the Americans before the end times always loved playing trade wars and economic sanctions—because it works; this tactic truly works well. In this society, money, to some extent, is all-powerful, especially so for a force.

Secondly, there is the revolt of the mutant creature tribes.

They need to eat too. With the source of the Demon Race Corpses cut off, where do they find food? They have no choice but to return to the original food chain, and then internal strife begins.

Moreover, considering the large-scale bonding of mutant creatures after the end times and the awakening of Spiritual Wisdom, the reformation of the mutant creature’s food chain is no longer as simple as wolves eating sheep. Now, even sheep can eat wolves...

At this time, the battle between the sheep and wolf packs is not a one-sided slaughter but a comprehensive war between two large tribes! The consequences, the Demigod thinks about it and gets a cold sweat.

Finally, there is the disintegration of the Demigod’s direct forces...

This point is the harshest; the Demigod has raised a large number of spies and warriors—they don’t need to be paid? Of course, they need to be. If the Demigod’s economic sources are cut off, where does the money come from? Rely on trade? Rely on transactions? With whom? With Yanjing? If Yanjing doesn’t play a trade sanction hand at this moment, then Lin Haifeng might as well have a hole in his head!

The direct forces raised by the Demigod are extremely large, and once the revenue from the main battlefield is lost, the Demigod will face the inevitable economic crisis—downsizing, reducing forces, and then what?

Forget about competing with Yanjing, even the original super gathering points attached to them, seeing the Demigod in such a ragged state, can’t guarantee whether they will have some unusual thoughts.

An incapable big brother, is he still called a big brother? Even when I, the younger brother, am stronger than you? I might as well be the big brother myself?

Perhaps Wen Yu, who came up with this idea initially didn’t think this far, but when this concern landed on the Demigod, it spawned countless issues striking at vital points!

Am I bankrupt?

The Demigod thought so, but had to contemplate another question...

If bankrupt, what should I do...

Thinking of this, the Demigod shivered.

Better not to think about it, thinking about it makes one bald...

...

Detecting the problem becoming thorny, the Demigod immediately instructed the caretaker to bring the ledgers; he needs to examine the current accounts.

The result...is quite unfortunate.

Based on the Demigod’s calculations, the remaining assets now, after the tiered battlefield and main battlefield have been cut off, can barely sustain for a month. After a month, the aforementioned three problems will occur consecutively—the first to erupt is undoubtedly the food problem for mutant beasts.

Without the tiered battlefield and main battlefield, this problem is fundamentally unsolvable!

The Demigod’s vast empire, as Wen Yu and Lin Haifeng once discussed, is now dominating Yanjing in terms of troop numbers, with the key being the massive mutant creature population. But the more he has relied on the mutant creature tribes in the past, the more trouble they will cause once the problem breaks out.

Once food shortages occur and his mutant creature tribes undergo internal strife, just imagining the earth-shattering battle scenes gives the Demigod chills.

He squints, reclining back in the chair, and thoughts churn in his mind. After a moment, the Demigod trembles as he gets up.

In this situation, the Demigod must consult his superior...
