Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

The passage guarded by Ling’s Place is already known to Wen Yu. Even though the Demigod believes Wen Yu wouldn’t have any inclination towards this channel, some matters can’t be left unguarded. This time, the Demigod chose the channel deep within the ocean.

Dodging and lurking all the way, the Demigod successfully delved into the Mariana Trench. Through this channel, he entered underground, and in a moment, the Demigod had reached the Earth’s nucleus origin.

The scene remains familiar, the people and things remain familiar, but this time, the Demigod is missing the ease and sense of achievement he once felt.

”Master.”

The Demigod lowered his head, bowing to the Earth consciousness, which merely uttered a light ”Hmm” before speaking.

”The plan should have already been implemented.”

Besides this, the Earth consciousness couldn’t imagine any other reason for the Demigod’s visit.

The Demigod simply sighed deeply, and after a long pause, began to inform the Earth consciousness of all the changes that transpired over these days.

This matter cannot be concealed. In fact, the Demigod was already prepared to be vehemently scolded by the Earth consciousness, yet the Earth consciousness’s reaction was beyond the Demigod’s expectations.

”In other words, the plan has been exposed, and there’s no room left to proceed, is that right?”

The Demigod nodded, agreeing with the Earth consciousness’s judgment.

”I just knew you were a useless...”

The rising angry voice abruptly halted midway, as the Earth consciousness swiftly changed its tone with the next sentence.

”No matter... let me think...”

Words poured from the Earth consciousness’s mouth like a split personality, leaving the Demigod momentarily stunned. He didn’t think deeply; he stood in place, waiting for the Earth consciousness’s decision.

”I have another plan.”

Half a moment later, the Earth consciousness finally said.

...

”The primary problem doesn’t lie with those professionists. Except for you, I’ve never trusted any human; the mutant beasts are our foundation,”

After listening to the possible outcomes described by the Demigod, the Earth consciousness began to speak eloquently.

”Therefore, we can ignore those super gathering places attached to you. As long as we hold the mutant beasts’ group in our hands, our forces won’t lose too much.”

The Demigod nodded in agreement, but the issue of food cannot be ignored. Once the mutant beasts run out of food, they surely will restructure the food chain. Although nominally they remain under the Demigod, the internal consumption involved would surely greatly damage the Demigod’s forces.

With the Earth consciousness suppressing them, the mutant beasts won’t harbor much resentment, but merely the point of significant force loss is sufficient to waste most of the Demigod’s efforts over the years.

And there’s another problem involved...

”I don’t know if Lin Haifeng and Wen Yu have considered the consequences of mutant creatures’ internal predation... it means the speed of breaking through Level Lock will become faster.”

”They should have considered it, but this time, I seem to have cornered Wen Yu and Lin Haifeng.”

The Demigod smiled bitterly upon hearing this. Judging from Wen Yu’s recent actions, it appears this kid really did not consider the big picture, aiming to hit hard...

”So the question returns... you, do you consider the big picture?”

The Earth consciousness’s voice floated erratically, carrying a strange tone. Upon hearing this, the Demigod was momentarily stunned. He pondered long, then suddenly broke into a cold sweat.

He had already guessed what solution the Earth consciousness thought up...

...

Momentarily, the Demigod and the Earth consciousness were both silent. The Earth consciousness waited, waited for the Demigod’s feedback, and derived one question from it...

Whether the Demigod and itself were truly on the same side...

And the Demigod was merely contemplating. His smart brain told him that today’s answer to this question would affect many, many things.

His future, his hope to achieve Level 11 powerful expert status, and on a larger scale, it could even relate to the fate of the entire world going forward.

In a short time, the Demigod thought through countless possibilities, until finally, he bent down and bowed respectfully to the Earth consciousness.

”Everything shall follow Master!”

This explanation is somewhat ambiguous... but it doesn’t matter, the Earth consciousness is relatively satisfied with this standard response.

Though not able to be utilized extensively, it can at least be used - what’s more, the Earth consciousness has never thought of using the Demigod extensively, only wanting to utilize the Demigod’s corpse...

So the Earth consciousness spoke.

”Contact Lin Haifeng when you return, tell him this: reopen the entry permissions to the tiered battle ground’s main battlefield. Otherwise, the internal consumption of mutant beasts will become a certainty. Superficially, there’s no apparent effect on Yanjing, but internal consumption is waste, external consumption is also waste! Don’t forget, humans, are also in the mutant beasts’ diet...”

Upon hearing this, the Demigod nodded, then asked, ”If Lin Haifeng agrees, although the plan collapses, we have not suffered too great a loss. But what if Lin Haifeng disagrees?”

”If he disagrees? Didn’t I just say? Humans are also in the mutant beasts’ diet... Simply letting the mutant beasts face losses won’t work. Once Lin Haifeng disagrees, you will formally declare war on Yanjing, mobilizing mutant beasts to attack the main battlefield’s defenses. Whether it’s the Demon Tribe or Yanjing’s professionists, kill them all! Keep killing until Lin Haifeng and Wen Yu yield!”

”Since there’s a food shortage, then start a full-scale war with Yanjing! Let the mutant beasts go to the frontline battlefield for food, whether it’s the Demon Tribe, professionists, or even Soul Puppets! If they block, then fight! Fight until it’s earth-shattering!”

The Demigod maintained a blank expression, but deep within, a chill gradually rose.

What defines the big picture?

Now, the Level Lock defines the big picture!

For Earth, the slower the speed of breaking through the Level Lock, the better; this is a known fact! This concept, after decades of apocalyptic life, has already been deeply etched in the heart, just like the Sun rises from the east. Even when facing the brink of plan failure, the Demigod never thought of fully opening war with Lin Haifeng.

Why did he forbid mutual predation among mutant beasts? Why, even having concocted a plan to overturn Yanjing, did he only want to kill Lin Haifeng, and never thought of outright battling openly with Yanjing?

Merely to delay the progress of unlocking the Level Lock!

Once the Level Lock collapses and the Earth’s side is not adequately prepared, then inevitably, an uncontrollable chain reaction will occur. This consequence is something even the Demigod, who dreams of replacing the old with the new, cannot bear.

He had considered fighting Yanjing to the death, but he doesn’t dare; the greatest threat remains the Demon Tribe, not Wen Yu and Yanjing! Conversely, Wen Yu and Lin Haifeng are also afraid.

But someone thinks otherwise...

The root cause everyone fights for, thinks otherwise...
