Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Whose fault is it?

The warriors below the stage also didn’t know... Or rather, they vaguely knew, but couldn’t articulate the logic behind it...

So, Moka gave his own answer.

”It’s those big figures who give us orders!”

”The Demigod, Lin Haifeng, Wen Yu... I don’t know what exactly happened, and I don’t understand why things turned out this way, but I still have the ability to distinguish right from wrong. I believe turning our weapons against our comrades, whether killing or being killed, is wrong, so I refused the order the Demigod gave me.”

”The Demigod was very angry... and my tone at that time probably didn’t please him either, so you can probably guess the result of this refusal. Similarly, this refusal also brought up many problems... The main point being our current identity.”

With Moka’s voice ringing out, the army below fell silent...

The situation that just happened was too sudden. These warriors, though strong, who only know fighting, couldn’t fathom the many underlying issues. Now that Moka mentioned it in front of everyone, it instantly enlightened all the people below.

What is meant by identity problem?

Before, they were soldiers under the Demigod. Now, since Moka led them away from the Demigod’s side, their identity immediately became awkward.

This is not just an issue of stance, it also involves many interest divisions—who will manage logistics?

Once Demigod’s men, now No one’s...

Being driven out of the main battlefield means no battles to fight, no battles means no spoils, no money, no food or drink. With immense power, they lack two important sources of benefits—support from behind and additional gains from the main battlefield.

Don’t underestimate these two points. In the past, these were the only two sources of benefits for these clueless recruits.

”I thought a lot inside just now, and came up with the following options for everyone.”

Moka said, then pointed to the most outer line of neatly arranged Human Race soldiers: ”You can go home to your families. With your strength, you should have no worries for food and clothing.”

Most of the Human Race soldiers under the Demigod were gathered from the major super clusters. As for loyalty... come on, there’s no such thing as loyalty, even if there is, it’s loyalty to their own national cluster. With no main battlefield, you still want me to lose my military pay? Do you expect me to join those who can’t make it and scrounge around for treasure land with the homeless?

The treatment for soldiers is much better than that of those living from hand to mouth!

So the choice is obvious.

These burly white men, the black brothers from Africa, and those Koreans and Japanese, put down their weapons with clanging sounds. They merely saluted Moka and then turned to leave.

These warriors mixed in with the main battlefield, all Peak Level 7, and there were even occasional Limit Breakthrough Level powerful experts among them. Wherever they go, they won’t lack for a meal or drink. Lying at home, a mid-level cadre from the cluster will come visiting the next day, and so their military rank goes around in a circle and comes back... Even if they don’t care about face, they can now take off their uniforms, remove their ranks, return to the main battlefield, have a chat with Fang Bai, and a strong Yanjing warrior would freshly emerge.

Though they may be ignorant of the messy affairs of the upper levels, there’s a beauty in ignorance too; at least they only need to think about their own mouths!

With this departure, four-fifths of the Human Race soldiers initially under Moka were gone... The remaining one-fifth were warriors cultivated by the Demigod in the later stages, but after five years of fighting side by side, it’s obvious that sharing meals and fighting together, Moka has far more influence than the distant Demigod.

Moka glanced at the remaining humans, nodded lightly, signaling them to stand behind him, then he looked at the largest group of mutant creature tribe.

At this moment, these mutant beasts appeared bewildered, apparently caught off guard by the drastic changes.

”As for you, the first path is to go home, back to your own tribe. Although that path will be more difficult than the one those Human Race warriors just took, facing various unexpected and unknown factors, it’s an excellent choice... At least you won’t have to follow my adjutant onto suicidal missions.”

Upon these words, the scene among the mutant beasts turned chaotic, but it quickly settled down. Then, two felid-type mutant beasts first stepped out of the ranks, striding straight into the distance.

Judging by their route, their destination seems to be the teleportation portal at the Washington District 7 Branch Base...

Going home is also an option for these mutant beasts, but unfortunately, a large portion of the mutant creatures lack the concept of ”home.” More of them remain standing in place with bewildered expressions, awaiting Moka’s next arrangement.

Not many mutant creatures left, probably only about one-tenth of the total number of mutant beasts. Looking at the remaining warriors, Moka nodded gently, and finally a smile lifted on his lips.

”So, all that’s left is those with no way out?”

Silence filled the scene.

”Coincidentally, neither do I...”

”Since we’re in the same boat... why not follow me, I just happen to have an idea.”

At this moment, Moka’s eyes shone brightly, as if he saw a possible future in the river of time!

”You rejected the Demigod’s orders, as did I, not because we are disloyal, but because we still have a greater ideal.”

”Do you remember the oath we took when we entered the District 7 Outpost Base?”

”I swear: to never forget our original intention and forge ahead with determination!”

”I swear: to forge an indestructible Great Wall with our bodies!”

”I swear: to become the sword and shield that guards All Races!”

The oath song rose higher and higher, and Moka, looking at the humans and mutant beasts below the stage shouting the oath song together, finally burst into hearty laughter.

”It seems you haven’t forgotten, and neither have I! In my eyes, this oath I vowed with my hand on my heart is far more precious than the Demigod’s lousy orders!”

”So, from today onward... I will never obey anyone’s orders again. I will firmly hold onto what is deeply rooted in our hearts, and from now on, I will fight only for myself, fight only for this world!”

”What about you?”

The answer needed no words, at that moment the crowd below was impassioned; Moka’s brief speech had awakened the perseverance and fervor buried deep in the warriors’ hearts!

”Then let’s form an organization... The name, Oath Taker... To embrace those who no longer want to be manipulated, who’ve had enough of pointless internal strife, but truly want to do something for this world...”
