Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

After finishing the conversation with Lin Haifeng about ”how to slay Demigods without reaching any consensus,” Wen Yu bade farewell and walked along the streets of the District 8 Base. The Heaven-covering Robe perfectly concealed Wen Yu’s figure. As he strolled among the bustling crowd, he integrated all the intelligence he had just obtained from Lin Haifeng in his mind.

Demigods are undoubtedly a huge hassle... but this hassle is not directed at Wen Yu; instead, it targets Lin Haifeng. Wen Yu’s previous suggestion to ”get rid of the Demigods” was merely a whim of the moment. In reality, for Wen Yu, the existence of Demigods attracting some of Lin Haifeng’s attention is a good thing, preventing the old man from focusing his thoughts on scheming here and there.

Overall, from Wen Yu’s current perspective, the Demigods are like passerby A, B, C, D and the likes, regardless of how powerful they are, how fervently they engage with Lin Haifeng, it’s irrelevant to Wen Yu.

As for the primary goal of visiting Lin Haifeng this time — the quest for the Level 11 stepping stone — Wen Yu has already finalized arrangements with Lin Haifeng. As long as Lin Haifeng is diligent, there should be gains.

Wandering through the entire District 8 Base, Wen Yu inadvertently realized that he really is more idle than a salted fish — his own industries do not require his management, Mountain Kui handles everything clearly, remaining minor issues do not exist, major matters were already given to Lin Haifeng, treasure land exploration veered away, trying to act cool or cute might risk capture and death by the Dominator, all these combined have turned Wen Yu into a ghost wandering the world...

Except for visiting old friends, now truly Wen Yu is somewhat at a loss.

Standing on the street for half of the day, Wen Yu chuckled, shaking his head.

Might as well first go to the main battlefield to see the presently flourishing Soul Puppet Legion, and then resume meditative seclusion, researching the Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill while searching for a solution to the cost of power.

With a plan set in his mind, Wen Yu’s figure immediately vanished.

...

District 7, Mainland Bloc Number 3315, Yanjing lying within the first outpost base of the tiered battleground, which also serves as the Earth’s side bridgehead in the District 7 main battlefield.

The overall area is approximately one-third of Yanjing’s size, the architectural style mostly mimicking that of the District 8 Branch Base, with powerful professionists, mutant beasts, and even Soul Puppets bustling on the streets, making this massive war fortress teem with vitality.

Just after flying in from the city walls, Wen Yu instantly recognized the current position of the Soul Puppet Legion in the District 7 main battlefield — the number of Soul Puppets walking on the street approximately equals the total number of professionists and mutant creatures! The diverse Soul Puppets, whether solo or in groups, some even shoulder to shoulder joking with adjacent professionists, the overall atmosphere appeared quite harmonious.

The Soul Puppets have already demonstrated their worth on the main battlefield, though as intelligent beings they are merely creations of Wen Yu. Nonetheless, every Soul Puppet undeniably represents an independent entity, and through countless side-by-side battles, these frontline warriors have long formed deep friendships. By now, in the main battlefield, active professionists and mutant beasts no longer regard Soul Puppets as disposable war weapons...

His first batch of created Soul Puppets — such as Mountain Kui, Corpse puppet, Cloud Puppet — their performance is impeccable! Even in his absence, they would remain firmly united under the tight connection belonging to the same creator, striving forward for their own groups.

Somehow, Wen Yu suddenly recalled the handful of yellow soil he had whimsically molded back then.

A former unintentional act has now grown into a towering tree!

...

This base isn’t small, and during the observation process, Wen Yu gradually discovered another slightly strange phenomenon.

It’s not only Lin Haifeng’s forces present here but also those of the Demigods. In fact, the number of mutant beast groups under the Demigods’ command appears even greater! Yet, after a casual glance, Wen Yu finds that no matter which side of the warriors, none of them have brought the factional disputes into personal emotion, perhaps because for them, higher-up matters are too far removed, while their mission is solely to hold fast at the frontline, firmly blocking the Demon Tribe’s advance...

These are a group of lovely individuals.

Simultaneously, Wen Yu cannot help but admire Lin Haifeng’s broad-mindedness; he doesn’t seem to fear the Demigods planting personnel here to cause small maneuvers. But then, Wen Yu thought again... the Demigods probably aren’t foolish enough to deliberately destroy the Great Wall at the front lines against the Demon Tribe.

But unfortunately, Wen Yu’s idea appears rather subjective — he can’t imagine what kind of insane acts could be done by a corrupted Earth Will teamed with an entity blinded by power!

Soul Perception forcefully extends, and it takes only moments for Wen Yu to find where Corpse Puppet is now.

Located within the central fortress of the entire District 7 Base.

...

Judging by Corpse puppet’s location, its status in the District 7 Base should be extremely high — the entire central fortress location is not large, and the room where the Corpse Puppet stays is undoubtedly the finest one.

Wen Yu simply stands inside the room, all his breath and shadow are completely shielded by the Heaven-covering Robe, even at a mere few meters distance, there’s no risk of being discovered by Corpse Puppet.

After not seeing each other for several years, Corpse Puppet has undergone tremendous changes — the ever-bald head has now sprouted hair. The habit of loving to sprint naked has also changed, now Corpse Puppet dons a loose robe, its facial features, unlike Wen Yu, bear a resemblance of about eighty percent.

Perhaps there are Wen Yu’s genes within Corpse Puppet’s body, or maybe it’s due to the worship for Wen Yu, the creator, in any case, standing before Corpse Puppet, facing its similar visage, Wen Yu indeed has a sensation of seeing his child.

At this moment, Corpse Puppet is sitting in a chair, legs crossed leisurely reading a book. From the concentration in its eyes, it seemed to be lost in the depths of human literature, unable to extricate itself. Wen Yu just watched quietly, not intending to disturb Corpse Puppet, until Corpse Puppet’s expression suddenly froze, then it emitted a voice.

”Got it, Mountain Kui boss...”

Wen Yu simply intercepted the Soul Connection between Mountain Kui and Corpse Puppet, discovering that Mountain Kui has already informed Corpse Puppet of the transaction between Wen Yu and Lin Haifeng — as the supreme commander of the frontline Soul Puppet Legion, regarding Wen Yu and Lin Haifeng’s deal, Corpse Puppet will certainly be the executor without a doubt.

Until the communication ceased, Corpse Puppet sighed softly, then set the book aside, stood up, and walked out, heading towards another place within the central fortress.

Wen Yu followed unhurriedly behind Corpse Puppet, arriving at another door where Corpse Puppet knocked on the door.
