Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Wen Yu could understand Lin Haifeng’s feelings, but this matter couldn’t be solved by anyone’s persuasion.

Since the Demigod had angered Wen Yu, he must pay the price!

Wen Yu couldn’t be bothered to understand all the rules and regulations, nor was he interested in grand theories. In essence, this was Wen Yu’s act of revenge!

Revenge for Earth’s betrayal, revenge for the Demigod’s provocation, and revenge for the abduction of Tang Haofei by the Demigod.

In short, as the Corpse puppet said, this time Wen Yu was infuriated, enraged, but it was just that.

However, there was a limit that the Corpse puppet didn’t grasp properly.

This limit meant that nothing short of extermination could quell his anger!

Wen Yu’s determination was unwavering, so Lin Haifeng’s words of reconciliation had no effect. He sat on the balcony for a long while, listening to the battle reports from various fronts in his mind, summarizing and organizing the next steps, and then looked at the time.

It seemed that it was time for dinner...

...

Slaughter continued, many were loyal unto death to the Demigod, or to the will of Earth, and the Demigod’s direct forces were naturally of this kind, while among the subsidiary forces, about a third harbored absolute loyalty to Earth’s will.

But in this war, Wen Yu’s victory was inevitable—no matter the aspect.

The Demigod wanted to see if Wen Yu and Lin Haifeng could bring down the knife on those loyal to Earth’s will, while Wen Yu was more interested in seeing what mattered more to the mutant beasts, their loyalty to Earth’s will or their own lives.

And facts proved, as long as it’s life, it cannot escape the fear of death!

Therefore, as the slaughter continued, the overall amount of killing showed a decreasing trend, while more and more mutant creature tribes surrendered.

For Lin Haifeng, this was the only piece of good news, but for the Demigod, these days were a total nightmare!

He looked at one report after another being presented by his subordinates, cold sweat gradually dripping from his forehead.

...

It’s over...

It’s completely over...

The Demigod internally cursed, only watching the numbers on the documents, clearly black and white, but to the Demigod’s eyes, those lines of numbers appeared as crimson as blood.

Wen Yu’s strategy was unusually simple—block the teleportation channel between the tiered battleground and Earth, and then pounce like a closed-door assault.

A simple plan, yet it relied on a foundation of absolute power. Previously, the Demigod hadn’t considered Wen Yu a threat, nor did he imagine there would be any direct conflict between his and Wen Yu’s forces.

Wen Yu acted indifferent to everything, even with a massive army, he perhaps didn’t even realize the true extent of his power.

Similarly, due to the societal nature of the Soul Puppet, the Demigod remained unclear about the hand Wen Yu held.

Thus, before declaring war with Wen Yu, the Demigod didn’t foresee that Wen Yu’s tactics would be so violent, the power gap so vast, and the outcome so decisive!

Falling apart...

This was the true state of the Demigod’s forces now.

The mutant beasts absolute loyal to him were slaughtered mercilessly, not even granted a chance to flee, while the mutant creature factions under him either perished or surrendered, leaving him without troops in the tiered battleground in merely seven days!

Of thousands of mutant creature tribes, now less than a tenth could the Demigod still connect with!

And that wasn’t the worst of it.

Three days ago, the highest leader of the Washington Assembly Site first declared its separation from the Demigod, signing an unequal treaty with Yanjing, effectively becoming its vassal. Following Washington’s lead, all the human powers under the Demigod quickly switched allegiances.

This meant the Demigod’s human influence crumbled!

With the tiered battleground blocked, the Demigod had virtually no manpower on Earth—given the vastness of the tiered battleground and the advantageous migration policy, even most mutant creatures migrated away years prior. Under such circumstances, how many capable fighters could the Demigod muster on Earth?

Now, major super-gathering sites worldwide have changed their stance, enacting collective economic and strategic blockades against the Demigod.

In an instant, the once uncrowned king of Earth became a rat everyone wanted to beat!

Thus, upon tallying his assets one last time, the Demigod was shocked to discover that his once proud massive influence had been utterly crushed by Wen Yu within a week!

Along with it shattered his pride...

...

When he faced the will of Earth again, the Demigod seemed much older.

He hunched his shoulders, his iron mask on his face even bearing some grease, his clothes wrinkled, facing the enormous light sphere, the Demigod remained silent for a long time.

After a while, he finally spoke.

”Master, I’m finished...”

”Finished with what?”

The voice of Earth’s will was still indifferent, but the Demigod sensed, within that indifference... was there a hint of joy?

Recalling the ’Death Battle Strategy’ proposed by Earth’s will some time ago, the Demigod was momentarily speechless...

Perhaps it’s only him that’s finished.

”You haven’t answered me, finished with what.”

The voice sounded again, and the Demigod breathed heavily, then organized his words, and after a while, he replied.

”Our forces are finished, the tiered battleground is sealed, most of the mutant beasts loyal to us have been eliminated, and those major gathering sites outside have quickly changed sides. Although they dare not confront us directly, following Yanjing’s lead, all large economies on Earth are collectively imposing economic sanctions on us. No income, no trade, nothing at all... Now, I only have a group of subordinates desperate and ready to tear me apart...”

One term after another flowed from the Demigod’s mouth, and the more he spoke, the more heartbroken he became. By the end, even his tone carried a sobbing quality.

The feeling of falling from heaven to hell, this was probably it.

”Is this what you call finished?”

However, the response from Earth’s will was full of indifference.

It truly wasn’t concerned.

”These are just trivial matters...”

It said thus and then switched the topic.

”Your current stockpile of resources, it should be quite ample now, right?”

The Demigod was silent, then nodded.

It wasn’t that the resources increased, but his subordinates decreased—instead, this solved the Demigod’s biggest problem before.

The decision Wen Yu made a few days before officially launching the war—to expel the Demigod’s side from the main battlefield was merely a form of economic sanction, but with fewer subordinates, the reserves accumulated by the Demigod surprisingly had some surplus...
