Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

The Demigod spoke sincerely, almost to the point of tears, while the Shadow’s heart naturally surged with excitement. He patted his chest and guaranteed that he would complete the mission this time, then disappeared into the darkness without a trace.

Once he vanished, there was immediately no shadow beneath the Demigod’s feet. The light reflected off the Demigod’s body, yet no hint of a shadow could be seen, casting the Demigod in a godlike, spectral image.

Only after the Shadow left did the Demigod breathe a sigh of relief...

After acquiring the Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill, the Demigod only created a few Soul Puppets. The Magma Giant was placed beside the Earth’s will, acting as a mouthpiece, while the Shadow was one of the pivotal Soul Puppets cultivated by the Demigod.

The performance of the Corpse Puppet on the main battlefield made the Demigod extremely envious. To put it bluntly, the combat ability of the Corpse Puppet was almost indistinguishable from that of the Demigod. According to the intelligence, the Corpse Puppet did not consume much of Wen Yu’s resources, implying that the Demigod could entirely use the Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill to cultivate several or even dozens of Soul Puppets with power not inferior to his own.

Wen Yu considered the Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill as a support skill, but for the Demigod, it was undoubtedly a strong main battle skill!

The Demigod naturally worried that Wen Yu would find out that he also possessed the Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill. Therefore, the work of cultivating Soul Puppets was not done in a high-profile manner. Although large-scale production of Soul Puppets was unlikely, creating a dozen or so was not a problem, and the resources controlled by the Demigod were enough to nurture several strong Soul Puppets. At the moment, his spies planted in the main city of the tiered battle ground had returned with no results. Thinking it over, the Demigod could only take the risk and let his Soul Puppets take action.

This choice... had its pros and cons. However, recently, the Earth’s will had been urging too forcefully, asserting that without quick results, the Demigod would have no chance for a second baptism with Origin Energy. Driven by the quest for power, the Demigod was left with no choice.

But on second thought, he felt at ease.

Even if Wen Yu knew about this, it wouldn’t be a big deal. He wouldn’t suspect the Demigod first but would place the blame on the Demon Spirits since they dispatched no small number of Soul Puppets to Earth. Even if Wen Yu realized it was the Demigod’s doing, it wouldn’t matter.

At most, the Demigod would hide in the origin of the Earth’s nucleus. No matter how capable Wen Yu was, could he really dare to kill the Demigod in the presence of the Earth’s will?

As for the Shadow... the Demigod shrugged it off. It’s just a Soul Puppet; without it, another can be made. After all, the cost is not high, and as for his own shadow disappearing, the Demigod is totally indifferent.

Gone is gone, it doesn’t affect anything anyway.

Thinking this way, the Demigod felt much more at ease. He took out the communicator, dialed a certain number, and as a sweet female voice rang out, a smile immediately appeared on the Demigod’s face.

He managed to juggle romance and business equally well, living a well-nourished life!

...

Born from the shadows, roaming between light and darkness.

When it gained consciousness and saw the world for the first time, it saw its master and its destiny.

Called Demigod... that man who looked like a divine being in its eyes.

As the Shadow, its usual tasks were not many, merely silently hiding behind its master, alert to the unlikely risks, always ready to sacrifice everything for its master.

This is all there is to being a Soul Puppet—a not-so-exciting entirety...

Although the Shadow didn’t quite understand why its master constantly warned it and its fellow brethren to be careful, cautious, and never expose their existence, this didn’t hinder the Shadow from executing commands. Following its master, in the Shadow’s view, was the greatest gift from above.

And today, the Shadow finally received its master’s first command!

Find someone...

In the Shadow’s view, this mission wasn’t difficult. Possessing the ability to traverse through shadows, the Shadow had absolute confidence in its concealment ability. As the lights shifted gradually, in no time, the Shadow appeared at the teleportation gate of the tiered battle ground.

It passed through the teleportation gate, accompanied by a dizziness that made the Shadow uncomfortable. When everything calmed down, the Shadow found itself in the main city of the tiered battleground.

The noise and the crowd flooded the Shadow’s senses. Initially, it was a bit confused, but soon, it adapted to the external clamor, slowly extending its perception ability, comparing it with the map in its mind, trying to find the target location.

However, an unexpected situation occurred...

When the Shadow’s perception extended to a Mountain Puppet Guard, the guard suddenly turned to stare directly in the Shadow’s direction.

”What’s wrong?”

A nearby companion asked, while the guard looked curiously at the shadowed area before shaking his head after a moment.

”Nothing, just a very strange feeling just now.”

”I think you’re too tense. Once we’re off duty tomorrow, I’ll take you out for a break.”

The two Mountain Puppet Guards chatted and laughed, dismissing the fleeting ”illusion” from their minds.

Seeing this, the Shadow quietly let out a sigh of relief.

”So, the first piece of intelligence... the perception of similar beings is magnified to a certain extent, even if this so-called similar being is not created by the same person... But fortunately, Soul Puppets not from the same source do not have inherent soul-linked detection. In other words, as long as I remain well-hidden, there’s no risk of being discovered.”

Soul Puppets belonging to the same master have a soul link, like an enhanced sixth sense between biological brothers. Through this mental connection, they can easily locate each other’s exact positions, but Soul Puppets from different masters lack such abilities.

They can only perceive with their eyes and observe with their five senses like normal people—although among Soul Puppets, this perception is amplified, the Shadow’s concealment ability is decent. Plus, with the Demigod’s intensive training, the Shadow is now on par with some of the first-round Soul Puppets nurtured by Wen Yu.

Though the task encountered a slight difficulty, the Shadow saw no issue in it. Not being able to extend its perception meant the search process was exponentially slower. Nevertheless, a painstaking, carpet-style search could equally well turn the entire area upside down. It’s just a matter of spending more time.

With a simple thought, the Shadow silently appeared in another shadowed area, and even though energy fluctuations were nowhere to be felt, not even a ripple in the play of light and shadow occurred.

This ability was very similar to the Darkness Puppet, but solely in terms of concealment ability, none of Wen Yu’s Soul Puppets were a match for the Shadow.
