Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 430: Chapter 46 Can’t Help But Compete!_1

After the Dominator announced the reward details, everyone within the treasure land of the Sequence Member-Ranking Battle fell silent.

Even though the challenge had officially begun, not a single professionist had initiated one!

Even Wen Yu was astounded by the Dominator’s grand reward. He quickly scanned his surroundings. Wen Yu was sizing up this immense city—the Eternal Sky City!

Compared to the Eternal Sky City, the Yanjing Assembly Site simply seems like a pile of garbage!

In the next second, Wen Yu silently clenched his fists, frantically optimizing his physical condition!

With such immense rewards at stake, I cannot afford not to compete; I absolutely must! At the very least, I have to secure my position at Sequence Number 2, and I must also challenge Sequence Number 1.

The significance of the Eternal Sky City far outweighs any other reward. It’s no exaggeration to say that whoever controls the Eternal Sky City will hold the greatest authority within the Human Race!

Moreover, the mere ability to fly would reduce how many Demon Fiend attacks one had to face! I can already foresee that the Eternal Sky City will undoubtedly become the Human Race’s ultimate treasure, its ultimate foundation, in the future!

Even if I don’t need it myself, I could trade it with the Earth Community...

For how much? At least two—no, three Esoteric Level skills! And that would only be for granting the Earth Community residency rights in the Eternal Sky City, and only after I’ve plundered all its treasures!

It wasn’t just Wen Yu; even the powerful experts who had previously been reluctant to participate in the Sequence Member-Ranking Battle now felt they had no choice but to compete.

Because these powerful experts deeply understood the concepts of the ”snowball effect” and ”the strong getting stronger.” The Dominator had already created the snowball, just waiting for a strong professionist to push it down the track. In such a situation, no one could resist the allure of power!

Tang Haofei squinted, a cryptic smile playing on his lips as he glanced at Wen Yu below, then slowly closed his eyes.

The constant flexing of the muscles on his body clearly indicated Tang Haofei’s thoughts—he was warming up!

The next moment, flashes of white light erupted one after another from the outside—the qualification battles had begun!

***

Large numbers of professionists were teleported to unknown Challenge Spaces where the flow of time differed from the outside world. In less than a minute, another great swathe of white light flashed.

All professionists who entered later had completed their qualification battles!

The number of those remaining—a staggering seventy percent!

It had to be said, the quality of professionists participating in this second Sequence Member-Ranking Battle was extraordinarily high!

The next moment, the Human Race’s first, and also its most intense, Sequence Member-Ranking Battle commenced!

***

The first to launch challenges were not the unranked individuals, but those ranked from Sequence Number 91 to Sequence Number 100!

Originally, these individuals were the ’gatekeepers’ of the lower ranks, all super-powerful experts from the military, arranged by Lin Haifeng. Fang Bai, Michael, and Joshua were all among them.

Now that Lin Haifeng’s objective had been met, these individuals naturally had no desire to continue guarding the gate. They didn’t even need any instructions from Lin Haifeng; everyone knew that this time, there was no need to consider miscellaneous concerns—they just had to climb upwards with all their might!

As flashes of white light flickered continuously, these individuals, at an extremely rapid pace, kicked out the military cannon fodder ahead of them and advanced triumphantly!

Of course, these battles were not the main focus. The first to challenge the top ten—or rather, the top five—was the professionist who had just been interrupted by the Dominator: Vincent, from the military!

Vincent and the one ranked Sequence Number 11 were simultaneously pulled into a Challenge Space, and then the previous scene replayed itself.

”I concede!”

After uttering these words, the original Sequence Number 10 exhaled a long, turbid breath, instantly feeling much more relaxed.

Then, leveraging the advantage of his recently acquired position at Sequence Number 18, Vincent fought his way up to Sequence Number 6. He then cast a strange glance at Akad, who was ranked above him, his slightly purplish lips curling into a faint smile directed at Akad.

Akad, however, was ashen-faced. His lips moved slightly, but no words came out!

Then, a flash of teleportation light occurred, and both Vincent and Akad were transported to one of the small arenas below.

***

This battle caught Wen Yu’s attention.

After all, this was the first relatively normal battle to occur so far, and both combatants were quite strong. I know Akad has an Esoteric Level skill. And judging by Akad’s attitude towards Vincent, they must be old acquaintances. Vincent’s strength is probably terrifying.

However, the battle on the arena isn’t unfolding as I imagined!

***

When Vincent and Akad were teleported onto the arena, Vincent wasted no time on words and immediately launched an attack on Akad!

Countless bandages instantly unraveled from his body, revealing a Demon-like physique beneath—putrid, blackened, with some glistening white maggots even occasionally burrowing in and out of Vincent’s flesh!

The bandages that had been wrapped around Vincent now emanated a bizarre purple glow and a nauseating stench, lashing towards Akad like a torrent of whips. The next second...

”I concede!!!”

Akad shouted aloud and was then teleported out of the Challenge Space!

This scene stunned most onlookers. In contrast, Tang Haofei, who knew of Vincent’s abilities, merely remarked indifferently, ”A wise choice!”
