Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 410: Chapter 35 Sequence Member-Ranking Battle_1

Just as the prompt in Wen Yu’s mind finished sounding, professionists above Level 4 worldwide received the notification about the imminent Sequence Member-Ranking Battle. After allowing Claus and Yang Hong to absorb the message they had just received, Wen Yu promptly took both of them back to the Red Stone Hotel.

「 」

In Wen Yu’s room, the group quickly exchanged opinions and made a decision. Claus’s Double Body and Victor’s Double Body were to remain in Las Vegas, continuing to manage the establishment of the defense circle. Wen Yu and Yang Hong, on the other hand, would go to observe the so-called Sequence Member-Ranking Battle.

The notification they received hadn’t stated that professionists above Level 4 *must* participate!

However, based on Wen Yu and the others’ estimates, Sequence-class powerful experts were required to enter the Sequence Member-Ranking Battle—without the participation of Sequences, how could they contend for a Sequence Number?

Coincidentally, just a few days prior, Wen Yu and Yang Hong had been discussing how to gather intelligence on other lone powerful experts. This Sequence Member-Ranking Battle, regardless of any schemes or trickery concocted by Sequence Number 1 and the military, indirectly provided a convenient opportunity for Wen Yu’s plans.

Thinking of this, Claus didn’t linger. Taking Victor’s Double Body, he returned directly to the construction site outside. Meanwhile, Wen Yu and Yang Hong proceeded to finalize their plans for recruiting lone powerful experts.

「 」

Three hours flew by. Before Wen Yu and Yang Hong could even get up to leave, the prompt in their minds sounded again.

”Host detected as Sequence Number 2. Mandatory entry into Sequence Member-Ranking Battle will commence. Teleportation will initiate in three seconds. Please prepare.”

”Three!”

Wen Yu glanced at Yang Hong out of the corner of his eye. Yang Hong’s movements faltered slightly; clearly, as Sequence Number 32, he had also received the notification.

”Two!”

Wen Yu silently took a deep breath and retracted Cyclops and Star into his Soul Realm space.

”One!”

As the countdown concluded, a silver vortex materialized before Wen Yu, instantly pulling him into it.

Simultaneously, all Sequences worldwide were teleported directly into the Sequence Member-Ranking Battle space. Meanwhile, most other professionists above Level 4 entered by touching an Exchange Stone Pillar.

The last Super Treasure Land before the demon plague, and concurrently the Human Race’s first Sequence Member-Ranking Battle, officially commenced.

「 」

As the familiar sensation of dizziness gradually subsided, what appeared before Wen Yu was a colossal city of breathtaking grandeur. It was forged from steel, with broad, flat streets. Towering buildings of diverse architectural styles lined the avenues, alongside an array of defense weapons—Heavy Artillery, puppets, and eerie runes—all emitting a chilling aura. Though their styles varied, their power was undeniably formidable! The palpable sense of immense threat they exuded even gave Wen Yu goosebumps.

In the distance, a massive, circular structure occupied nearly one-third of the entire cityscape.

However, before Wen Yu could observe his surroundings in more detail, another flash of silver light engulfed him. The next moment, he found himself teleported into a private room.

The room was spacious and lavishly decorated. Its exquisite ancient Cathay-style furnishings blended seamlessly with various modern technological products. This fusion didn’t feel jarring to Wen Yu at all; on the contrary, it evoked a sense of perfect harmony, making him think, This is exactly how décor should be.

Then, the television screen before Wen Yu suddenly lit up, displaying a large block of text.

Oh? This method of announcing the rules is quite interesting, Wen Yu thought, a rare instance of him offering praise. He then sat down on the solid wooden chair behind him and carefully read the rules of this Sequence Member-Ranking Battle.

”Sequence: the hallmark of a Human Race powerful expert, a testament to their status. As the Human Race’s sharpest blades and strongest warriors, even arbiters of humanity’s destiny, Sequences are destined to receive the Dominator’s favor.”

”As the saying goes: with great power comes great responsibility—and also great benefits.”

”Within treasure lands, Sequences enjoy certain privileges. Combined with the superior information access and authority they inherently possess, a Sequence is not merely an honor; it is a crucial aid for powerful experts striving to ascend to new heights!”

As Wen Yu carefully read the text on the screen, he continuously contemplated the significance and potential impact of this Sequence Member-Ranking Battle.

The first two paragraphs clarified the meaning and benefits of being a Sequence. Moreover, this time, the Dominator had explicitly revealed its hand. Most people, Wen Yu mused, are probably unaware that the Exchange Stone Pillars and the entire professionist system actually originate from the Dominator!

”This Sequence Member-Ranking Battle was initiated at the request of Sequence Number 1 to the Dominator, and subsequently approved by more than half of the top ten Sequence holders. The Sequence Member-Ranking Battle is comparable to a Super Treasure Land. Given that this is the Human Race’s inaugural Sequence Member-Ranking Battle, the Dominator has designated the Eternal Sky City as its venue!”

So, this place is indeed the Eternal Sky City, Wen Yu mused. I just wonder about the significance of the Dominator specifically highlighting this fact.

”Given the impending demon plague and taking into account the overall war potential of the Human Race, the rules for this Sequence Member-Ranking Battle are, therefore, considerably gentle. The specific rules are as follows:”

”One: Professionists within the Eternal Sky City are prohibited from attacking one another. Each professionist is automatically equipped with a super defense shield capable of nullifying all damage inflicted by other professionists!”
