Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 411: Chapter 35 Sequence Member-Ranking Battle_2

”Second: This Sequence Member-Ranking Battle is a challenge mode—all professionists in the treasure land of the Sequence Member-Ranking Battle have the opportunity to initiate challenges to the Sequence. If a challenger fails, they will be teleported out of this treasure land. If a professionist who is already a member of the Sequence challenges and fails, they will not be immediately teleported out of the treasure land. However, if their challenge is successful, they may continue to challenge.”

”Third: In the challenge ring, duelists will not sustain fatal injuries. If fatal injuries occur, they will be offset by defensive measures in the ring, and victory will be declared immediately. Therefore, Challengers need not worry about their safety.”

”Fourth: The challenge rules follow a ladder-style challenge mode. Ordinary professionists must first pass a combat power test to gain the right to challenge those from Sequence Number 91 to Sequence Number 100. Members of Sequence Number 91 to Sequence Number 100 can only challenge those from Sequence Number 81 to Sequence Number 90, and so on. However, when challenging for positions in the top ten of the Sequence, Challengers can only challenge one rank at a time. Additionally, those with higher Sequence numbers cannot initiate challenges against those with lower Sequence numbers.”

”Fifth: To prevent victors from being worn down by successive challenges, their status will be fully restored to its peak after each challenge concludes.”

”Sixth: Challenges will take place in the Solon Arena, located in the city center. The arena is equipped with unique space-overlaying technology, allowing it to simultaneously facilitate 100,000 battles. The time flow in this treasure land for the Sequence Member-Ranking Battle differs from that of the main world. Consequently, regardless of how long a professionist spends in the treasure land, only one Earth day will pass in the outside world.”

”Seventh: For other rules, explanations, and information related to the Sequence, please consult the Sequence Member-Ranking Battle Handbook provided by the Dominator. The combat power test will commence in one hour, and all non-Sequence-class professionists will automatically undergo it. The formal challenges will begin one day later, so all Challengers should prepare accordingly.”

The rules broadcast on the television screen finished scrolling, and the screen immediately turned black. Then, a panoramic view of the Solon Arena appeared.

Simultaneously, a clear female voice emanated from the television in front of Wen Yu.

”Welcome, Sequence Number 2. This room is reserved exclusively for you; your room number is 2. You can visit other Sequence-class powerful experts in the Sequence-class Residential Area via the main door, or watch combat power tests or live duels between members of the Sequence on TV. Your dedicated intelligent secretary is at your service!”

Upon hearing this, Wen Yu was left speechless.

This Dominator is certainly something else when it comes to high-tech.

Wen Yu, leisurely leaning back in his chair, casually picked up the rather thick Sequence Member-Ranking Battle Handbook that had suddenly materialized on the coffee table. He browsed through it while speaking to the TV screen.

”Could you get me a glass of red wine, please?”

”Please wait a moment, sir.”

After the TV responded, faint BUZZING sounds could be heard from the kitchen. After a short while, a puppet dressed like a maid, its face covered in adhesive marks, carried a glass of red wine to Wen Yu.

Closely examining the puppet, Wen Yu noted it was clearly not a product of Earth’s Technological System. Instead, it reflected more of a Magic Fantasy style.

As for its origin, it was hardly surprising that the Dominator, having experienced so many worlds, had managed to procure some of the choicest items from them.

”Thank you.”

Wen Yu offered a polite greeting, curious to see if the puppet possessed any intelligence.

Unfortunately, the puppet remained silent, simply turning and walking back into the kitchen.

Wen Yu wasn’t embarrassed in the slightest. He simply summoned Cyclops and Star, warning them not to wander off. Then, he quickly began looking through the Sequence Member-Ranking Battle Handbook provided by the Dominator.

The first part of the handbook was identical to the instructions shown on TV. However, the latter part contained significantly more information.

It included details such as the identity of the Dominator, further benefits and the significance of holding a Sequence number, and the impending demon plague set to occur in half a month.

Previously, the existence of the Dominator and the Demon Tribe was not common knowledge. However, after the day’s events, this truth would soon become widely known.

However, these matters were of little consequence to Wen Yu. Any resulting panic or commotion would be the military’s concern. Presumably, Lin Haifeng already had countermeasures in place. Indeed, the Demon Tribe’s invasion itself would become known to all Humans in half a month.

Wen Yu continued to browse the handbook.

The entire handbook was devoid of emotional bias; it did not depict the Dominator as a savior of the Human Race. Interestingly, a large portion was devoted to extolling the benefits and significance of possessing a Sequence number. The entire handbook gave Wen Yu the impression that the Dominator was vigorously promoting these self-established Sequence numbers—as if they were even more important than the Dominator itself!

Wen Yu couldn’t fathom the Dominator’s intentions.

Halfway through the handbook, a rather important piece of information caught Wen Yu’s eye.

”Human Race Sequence Hunting Plan—The Demon Tribe targets the top ten powerful experts of the Human Race Sequence for these hunts. The hunts occur every six months. The higher the target’s Sequence number, the stronger the assigned Hunting Group. This is a trial and a challenge that the top ten powerful experts of the Human Race Sequence must face. Accordingly, these top ten powerful experts will also receive greater privileges and benefits within the treasure land.”

Wen Yu had first heard about this Hunting Plan at the Red Stone Hotel, when Lin Haifeng mentioned it over the communicator. This new information confirmed that Lin Haifeng hadn’t lied to him.
