Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 406: Chapter 32: The Power of the Night Daemon Smilodon_3

Traceless (S-class, Active Ability): When activated, all traces of the host will disappear, rendering them undiscoverable by any observational method or skill. However, after entering the Traceless state, the host cannot initiate an attack, cannot use harmful abilities, and their physical attributes are forcibly reduced to 10 points!

Note: The Traceless state can be actively deactivated, but the moment it is deactivated, an aura fluctuation far stronger than usual will be emitted!

It was an excellent concealment method. Despite its many restrictions, when paired with Dream Shaping, it allowed the Night Daemon Smilodon to become an incredibly elusive Dream Shaper—one capable of observing the worlds within others’ hearts, seeing their deepest secrets, and even subtly influencing their thoughts and beliefs.

With these five skills combined, this super divine beast species was indeed powerful.

However, every advantage has its disadvantage. The Night Daemon Smilodon’s combination of abilities meant it didn’t excel in direct combat. Even with the racial advantages of a super divine beast species, the lack of frontal combat skills made it appear weak in such encounters. The Netherworld compensated for this deficiency well: its true body usually hid within the Netherworld. Unless an opponent possessed an Esoteric Level skill and was significantly stronger than the Night Daemon Smilodon, no one could enter the Netherworld without its invitation.

Moreover, if the situation turned perilous, Wen Yu could pull the Night Daemon Smilodon into the Soul Realm space. This further ensured the safety of its true body!

Typically, its Double Body only had to appear in the main world to provide Wen Yu with substantial assistance.

After briefly reviewing the Night Daemon Smilodon’s abilities, Wen Yu couldn’t help but feel a slight headache.

Super divine beast species possessed excellent abilities. Coupled with Soul Pet Augmentation, Wen Yu, in his combat state, would have a bewildering array of skills to use and enhance, with numerous ways to combine them. Deciding on the skill combination most suitable for my fighting style, the one that’s most powerful—this will require careful thought.

But before that, Wen Yu looked at the crowd gathered at the entrance of the Red Stone Hotel. Their expressions were complicated. After a moment of contemplation, he sent a Spiritual Fluctuation to the Night Daemon Smilodon.

”Your old friends are here to see you.”

* * *

When Anna died, the memory block jointly created by the Night Daemon Smilodon and Anna had gradually begun to break.

Therefore, the memories of Las Vegas’s residents had begun to resurface.

Now, looking at the people before him with their complex expressions, Wen Yu clearly understood that their memories had almost fully returned. At least, they had recalled that unbearable past—the period of Bart’s domination and the days they had fought together for survival. And the Night Daemon Smilodon had been their leader back then—leader not only of the mutant beasts but also of the humans.

Upon hearing Wen Yu’s call, the Night Daemon Smilodon’s Double Body emerged directly from its Traceless state. It appeared on Wen Yu’s shoulder, staring at Claus, who stood at the forefront of the group, and softly called out, ”Claus.”

Claus slowly walked up to Wen Yu and gently raised his arm. The Night Daemon Smilodon leaped from Wen Yu’s shoulder directly onto Claus’s.

Gently stroking the Night Daemon Smilodon’s fur, Claus said, his voice slightly choked, ”Victor, long time no see...”

Victor was the Night Daemon Smilodon’s former name, a name Claus himself had given it.

This name, translated into Chinese, means Victory.
