Chapter 408: Chapter 34 My Army_1

PS: Thank you all for the 50,000 Qidian coins tip yesterday—you can call me Brother Ma. Bonus Chapters will be released later. There might be one more bonus Chapter today, or perhaps not...

Today is Father’s Day, and I have things to do in the afternoon. Tomorrow is my birthday, so I’ll probably be busy these two days. If there are fewer updates, please forgive me. I’ll definitely make up for them later!

Lastly, Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there.

...

Upon seeing Yang Hong’s gaze, thoughts flashed through Wen Yu’s mind, and he quickly organized the plan he had just conceived.

I’ll establish an organization and invite those powerful experts who are unwilling to join the military.

First, to expand my influence. If, for instance, ten powerful experts of Yang Hong’s caliber were to side with me this time, opposing the military because I was framed, Lin Haifeng would have to carefully consider if the potential gains are worth the risks, even if those experts did nothing more than state their position.

If my own strength isn’t enough, I’ll supplement it with influence. Even a loosely formed faction, as long as it clearly states its stance, will become a latent power capable of deterring enemies. That’s right, after this incident, my enemies aren’t limited to just the Demon Tribe anymore.

The second point is to weaken the military’s strength! I’m definitely not naive enough now to believe that everything is settled just because Lin Haifeng said we’ve reached a peace agreement. One must always be vigilant, especially against an old fox like Lin Haifeng!

Every Sequence-class powerful expert I win over means a loss of strength for the military. After all, with Lin Haifeng’s methods, the military has countless ways to control someone—resorting to force if persuasion fails, and underhanded tactics if force proves insufficient.

As for whether they genuinely want to join or are spies planted by the military, that won’t be an issue with Victor around. Victor can infiltrate their Dreamland, observe their memories, and even examine their thoughts. The most terrifying part is that they would never detect it! Even I was once so deceived by Victor’s Illusions that I couldn’t distinguish reality from fantasy. If the Will of Earth hadn’t told me a lot of strange things in the end, I would never have realized I had entered Dreamland, let alone anyone else!

Having thought of this, Wen Yu continued to speak to Yang Hong.

”What do you think of this proposal?”

Yang Hong nodded heavily and quickly said, ”Actually, I had a similar idea before, but my strength isn’t sufficient to attract experts of that caliber. But you’re different; your power is enough to command the situation. And I believe that since the military even dared to undermine Sequence Number 2, other Sequence members must have been harassed by them as well.”

Thinking of this, Yang Hong suddenly sighed. ”I just don’t know, out of the 100 Sequence members, how many are not affiliated with the military.”

Hearing Yang Hong’s words, Wen Yu furrowed his brows.

After a while, Wen Yu said in a low voice, ”The number... probably isn’t very high...”

Indeed, there wouldn’t be many. I’ve personally experienced how formidable the military’s methods are; anyone else would have been taken down long ago.

Yang Hong, however, raised his head, his face full of fighting spirit, and said, ”But we still need to try, don’t we? Since we don’t want to join the military, we must secure more options for ourselves. No one can guarantee that the various national militaries don’t currently operate on a ’if you’re not a friend, you’re an enemy’ mentality.”

Wen Yu nodded affirmatively. ”Right.”

Hearing Wen Yu’s reply, Yang Hong’s eyes lit up, and his words began to tumble out at an incredible speed. ”I’ve had this idea before: to establish a group exclusively for powerful experts, where everyone’s status is relatively equal. Normally, we wouldn’t interfere in each other’s affairs, but if a situation arises, we’d tackle it together.”

”In my mind, we should have a name, uniforms, and various rules and regulations...” Yang Hong’s eyes blazed with excitement, his speech quickening as he passionately detailed everything, right down to the design of the team emblem.

Wen Yu, meanwhile, found his head spinning.

Truth be told, I’m really not cut out to be a leader. But that’s okay. Who’s born with these strange skills or high-end talents anyway? These things can be learned. Compared to these concerns, I’m still more inclined to establish this organization. However, there’s one point that’s very difficult to resolve...

”How do we find these powerful experts who haven’t been wooed by the military?”

Yang Hong, who had been speaking so effusively, suddenly fell silent.

This was indeed an unsolvable problem.

...

”Forget it, we’ll keep it in mind for now and discuss it when we have the chance. Our main focus right now should be on the upcoming demon plague.”

”By the way, you know what the demon plague is, right?”

Hearing Wen Yu’s question, Yang Hong nodded lightly, though his expression remained a bit grim—likely because after rambling on for dozens of minutes, his proposed plan had just been revealed as fundamentally flawed.

”Good. I want to know how many survivors are left in Las Vegas, how many combat-capable personnel there are, and their specific levels and strengths.”

This barrage of questions left Yang Hong completely stunned.

After hesitating for a moment, Yang Hong said awkwardly, ”After I regained my memories, most of the people who originally followed me... well, they defected to Claus’s side...”
