Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 895: Chapter 1: Civilization Evolver

Gao Gong slept deeply, enveloped in darkness; ever since the Cyber Tide began, he hadn’t closed his eyes, not even when his flesh transformed into the S-Level Continent. His consciousness was still in the Information Ocean, constantly deducing the final battle.

No choice; Cosmic Relics and Civilization Disasters are reserved for Advanced Civilizations. Even with experiences from a past life, operations must proceed with extreme caution. One slip and he’d destroy himself and his faction.

Fortunately, it was finally over, and Gao Gong could finally get some good sleep.

He was awakened by the noise from outside.

Looking up, he saw Director Du gazing out the window while he still lay on Du Zhaodi’s lap. They were now in the cockpit, not on the deck.

”You’re awake,” Du Zhaodi said with a gentle smile.

Gao Gong exhaled, looking outside, only to hear the constant rumbling sound—the roar of mecha engines. Mecha continuously landed on the deck, and various familiar faces emerged from the cockpits: General Quel, Little Woman, Qin Zhenzi, Dr. Rong, Huang Wen, Daisila, Matsushima Keiko, Tamil, Apu, Sunx Tu, Cold Blood, and so on.

Moreover, more Advanced Mecha hovered in the air outside the Starship, resembling a dense dark cloud.

These people had all been released from the Safe House.

”Everyone wants to see you.”

Gao Gong rose, and Du Zhaodi carefully adjusted his collar. Gao Gong grasped her hand, and the Memory Metal wall before them automatically melted into steps. He ascended them, where the sun in the sky was particularly dazzling, and even the atmosphere seemed to recover somewhat.

Countless eyes fixed upon him—some with worship, some with respect, and some with admiration. After all, most high-ranking members knew of Gao Gong’s plans when entering the Safe House, and those who didn’t saw the planet’s dramatic changes and understood what Gao Gong had accomplished.

Such acclaim was far more than just the cold numbers on the System Panel.

Gao Gong scanned the crowd and paused upon Little Woman. He noticed her eyes were red, indicating she knew of the Brain-in-a-Vat’s fate.

From Gao Gong’s perspective, he could clearly feel Little Woman’s mental fluctuations surged noticeably. After the Brain-in-a-Vat’s death, as the host, she evidently inherited part of its Power.

’Perhaps in the future, the task of nurturing Radiation Beasts in the Biological Chamber can be entrusted to her.’

Gao Gong thought silently, facing so many eyes, he paused, and finally spoke.

”The tide has receded. Everyone, prepare yourselves. Soon, we will leave the Mechanical Split Star and head into the cosmos. The new era requires all of your Power.”

...

”To leave the Mechanical Split Star, we need at least 10 Starships, including three Industrial Ships and three Exploration Ships, and we must build a Space Fortress. Only a Space Fortress can store over 100,000 Mecha Team units.”

Director Du, indeed a Shipgirl of industrial prowess, became enthusiastic when discussing industrial production.

”There’s no need for so much. Aside from the Pioneer and Biomechanical Armor, the other mechas aren’t very useful in outer space.”

Gao Gong vetoed her idea, not planning to venture into star piracy; thus, he had little interest in creating a comprehensive outer space industrial system.

”I recall there are at least three Starships on Cybertron. Ensuring a small fleet is enough.”

In typical outer space navigation, five Starships can form a small fleet—one Industrial Ship, one Exploration Ship, and three Escort Ships are standard.

”But our goal—” Du Zhaodi knew well that he aimed to establish his own civilization, and without a complete industrial system, even the manufacturing process is extremely difficult. Although she is a Master of creation, one cannot make bricks without straw.

”Relying solely on one’s own Power to develop civilization is too slow.”

”So are we going to join a certain civilization?” Du Zhaodi asked curiously.

Gao Gong shook his head with a smile; in the current Cosmic Civilization Era, joining a civilization is at hell-level difficulty.

Furthermore, once joining a civilization, one must adhere to its Technology Tree. He went through great lengths to create a heavenly opening, allowing him to climb the Fusion Civilization Technology Tree—he wouldn’t give it up lightly.

”In the cosmos, civilizations are diverse. Perhaps there’s one that allows collaboration without joining.”

After a long sleep and lazing around for several days, on a sunny morning, Gao Gong lay in a chair, finally opened the System Panel, and switched to the Planet Task page.

In this planet page, thirteen areas lit up, shrinking the entire planet into a ’Singularity.’

[Planet Task Completed, Cosmic Relic Synthesis Successful. Reward: One ’Cosmic Relic’]

’Is it over just like that?’

Gao Gong was stunned; he had thought there would be other rewards, although a Cosmic Relic alone was sufficient, but getting another would be even better.

Moreover, Gao Gong felt that this planet task had something to do with his traversal, because other tasks only existed as task bars, yet this one had opened a separate page, and even after completion, the page hadn’t disappeared.

’This Singularity—’

Gao Gong suddenly paused; this singularity was exactly like the ’Singularity Illusion’ he saw during the ’Cosmic Relic’ synthesis.

’Could it be that collecting more Cosmic Relics is required to continue lighting up this singularity?’

Seeing this hole-like thing, Gao Gong suddenly thought of a new theory regarding ’Cosmic Relics.’

Multi-universe!

Regarding relics, besides the big bang theory, there is another explanation. These relics are called ’relics’ because they belong to different universes and, due to various reasons, drift into this universe.

This topic is far-reaching, especially since it involves relationships with different timelines. These timelines can be related to a super power independent of the Civilization Council.

Space-Time Administration Bureau

This was some cosmic anecdote Gao Gong heard in a previous life.

Regarding all the timelines derived from this universe, there is a related institution controlling them, ensuring all futures lead in the correct direction.

However, Gao Gong had doubts about this.

According to his memory, what is the so-called correct direction? Could it be the arrival of three major celestial calamities and the division of the Civilization Council?

”Regarding cosmic relics, better ask a real person directly.”

Gao Gong muttered to himself.

In the next moment, as his intention connected, a purple light instantly enveloped Gao Gong, freezing everything around him, both people and objects.

Gao Gong seemed to enter a world composed of lines and boxes.

The lines were like space strings, yet had subtle differences from those in the Purple String Space. They looked more complicated. Gazing around, countless silk threads formed boxes of various sizes, with Gao Gong floating in the void, lightly pressing his finger on a silk thread, causing a gentle ripple.

Like a drop of rain falling into a pond, the silk thread affected other silk threads, resulting in the continuous disappearance and reformation of boxes.

Gao Gong felt a stir in his heart, looked up, and saw another ’Gao Gong’ standing inside a box curiously observing him.

’Is this—’

The opposite ’Gao Gong’ looked in another direction and quickly spotted another Gao Gong. This Gao Gong hovered in the air, his radioactive patterns seemingly aflame, evidently in transformation mode.

The same ’Gao Gong’ looked another way, finding an entirely blood-charged ’Gao Gong’ drooling, emitting evil qi almost condensing into substance.

Yagami Gao Gong

The true Gao Gong looked around, seeing more and more ’Gao Gong’ appearing within boxes, even some who had broken through Tier 3, Tier 4, Tier 5. Their faces were entirely blurred, with space seemingly obstructed their manifestation.

High-dimensional beings?!

Advancing the fusion route to Tier 5 leads to dimensional ascension?

How is this achieved? As far as I remember, even the Blade Queen hasn’t reached this level.

Gao Gong glanced around, finally withdrawing his gaze, realizing he was standing inside a box.

His lips twitched, saying: ”Have you had enough fun yet?”

”Hehe,” a cheerful voice sounded, ”Excited to see your future? In the future, you’re at least Tier 5 life, on par with the Memory Mother.”

Gao Gong again focused on that ’Tier 5 self.’ Though he couldn’t clearly see his face, he vaguely noticed the surrounding space continuously shattering, with part of his entity resembling a black hole, shaped by space fragments and gravitational force field.

The Deep Net’s words were somewhat surprised.

”But I really didn’t expect you would become so strong in the future. It’s curious, among the civilizations I can observe, very few individuals can surpass civilization constraints; how did you achieve this?”

Gao Gong pondered for a while, then said:

”I’ll answer this question after I envision the future.”

The Deep Net chuckled, ”It seems our little brother is quite ambitious.”

Gao Gong didn’t respond but continued to look around with interest, asking: ”So, the function of this cosmic relic is future observation?”

”This is just one of its minor functions, its true function might surprise both you and me.”

”Oh? Isn’t it the Evolution Modifier?”

Gao Gong raised an eyebrow; according to his understanding, the effect of such cosmic relics likely involves extreme enhancement of individual combat power or drastically elevating personal aptitude, not for one person but for everyone.

In this way, Gao Gong could easily create a super combat power legion, sweeping not only the cosmos but short-term sweeping of the star system would be no problem.

This type of cosmic relic, in the classification of relics, belongs to ’species evolution type.’

”According to the data I saw on the Planet Host, it’s indeed like you said, that Level 7 Civilization seems to want to use it to develop a batch of Level 8 Civilization Black Hole Warriors, but cosmic relic synthesis has a certain unpredictability, now it seems to have undergone some mutation.”

The Deep Net’s tone was peculiar: ”Now it should be called ’Civilization Evolver.’”
