Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 879: Chapter 47: Mission in Progress (End)

The Energy Realm is still somewhat different from a normal Virtual Realm.

In the Virtual Realm, for a person to enter, they must first perform Consciousness Upload; the physical body cannot go in.

But to enter the Energy Realm, the physical body must enter, and the body has to be transformed into a specific energy Form.

At this moment, Dida reverted to her original Form, turning back into Mushroom Girl.

And beneath her feet lay a body emitting Radiation Radiance.

This was Mr. G’s body.

Dida faintly felt that something was wrong, because in the process of the body entering the Energy State, thoughts, Consciousness, Neural Signals—all of these had to be transformed into an energy Form.

Yet during the transformation process, Dida did not sense any of these changes.

It seemed this body didn’t have anything like Neural Signals to begin with.

But even a vegetable still has Neural Signals; only the dead have none.

”Could this be a fake too?”

Dida racked her brains but still couldn’t figure it out.

However, as a large number of Electronic Brain Zombies swarmed in, her train of thought was cut off.

”Even though this isn’t a complete Energy Realm, just a narrow dimension, it’s still not somewhere you material existences can break into.”

In the four great systems of the Cosmos—the Mechanical Realm, Carbon-Based Sequence, Energy Realm, and Information Ocean—

among them, the Energy Realm has the strongest rejection; any who are not citizens of that Realm will inevitably be repelled.

Moreover, the Energy System has a Trait: it can use the small to win against the big.

This is similar to the Information System’s ”the lower overturning the higher,” but it requires that the energies be of the same tier.

Dida reached out her hand, and countless Fungus threads extended from her palm, probing deep into the Void.

The next moment, the Radiation level surged wildly; endless Radiance turned into mountains of light and seas of clouds. Wherever it passed, all those Electronic Brain Zombies were Energy Transformed away—their skin, bones, Bloodline all vanished, leaving only Human Form Neural Circuits and empty brains.

”Electronic Brain Zombies with no brains?!”

Dida was startled by this sight.

And in a place she couldn’t see, from those empty brains, one Memory Worm after another crawled out, crossing Space and directly burrowing into Mr. G’s body.

And as it happened, Mr. G’s skull was likewise completely empty.

...

Yagami Suuji’s Consciousness sank, sank, and sank again.

Then she saw countless virtual pipelines, rising and falling within a white mist.

Yagami Suuji flipped her body; like a Mermaid, she quickly slipped into one of the virtual pipelines.

As the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division’s member who took the most missions and had the highest completion rate, Yagami Suuji knew many secret routes—paths even Miss Ke didn’t know about.

Using these secret routes, Yagami Suuji bypassed firewall after firewall and finally broke the surface like emerging from water, arriving at a Virtual Control Center.

On the screens of this Control System, a scene of a group of people being attacked was playing.

Yagami Suuji waved her palm; a virtual keyboard appeared. Countless data streams were reflected in her eyes as she began to reverse-control the system.

”Ms. Yagami Suuji, No. 5 wanted criminal, you seem very familiar with our internal programs.”

Yagami Suuji’s body stiffened. She was silent for a while, then replied without turning her head:

”Miss Ke.”

”To tell you the truth, from all sorts of mission files, I drew a rather astonishing conclusion: that you, Yagami Suuji, once served as one of our Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division’s high-level officers, and carried out many missions.”

”That’s right.”

”So, under a normal line of reasoning, as a high-level officer, you ultimately betrayed us and erased all data related to you.”

”...”

Yagami Suuji turned around and realized that, at some unknown point, figures had surrounded her from all sides.

Yagami Suuji frowned slightly. ”Memory Messengers from the Memory Supervision Department, Humanity Scholars from the Humanity Experiment Department, Antivirus Guardians from the Electronic Network Department—since when did the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division’s core database have so many outsiders?”

”You’re an outsider too, ma’am.”

Miss Ke’s voice sounded softly.

”I suggest you turn yourself in.”

Yagami Suuji suddenly smiled.

”Then try and catch me—just like when you trained me as a child.”

The next moment, Yagami Suuji took a step back, and her figure directly vanished into the screen.

Right after that, countless garbled codes appeared on the screen.

”Catch her!”

The Antivirus Guardians of the Six Ministries scrambled to dive into the screen.

And very quickly, they arrived at a rather shocking conclusion.

The Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division’s Energy Weapon Transmission System had not been hacked.

”That’s impossible!” Miss Ke said flatly. ”You all saw what she just did.”

”Switch the feed!”

As an Advanced AI’s voice sounded, within the image, the Energy Beams that had been wildly sniping at the Super Big Eagle from all directions suddenly vanished; also blurred out were the images of those few people.

”We’ve found the cause.”

A Five Shells Advanced Neural Editor spoke with a strange expression.

”She didn’t hack into our core Control System at all. What she modified was just the monitoring system’s precision.”

”Adjusting the precision—what’s the point of that?”

Someone had barely finished the sentence when they suddenly realized.

The higher the monitoring resolution on the Space Station, the more parameters it requires, and the more easily it is affected by interference.

For example, the Radiation magnetic field of the S-Level Continent.

Once it’s interfered with and loses monitoring guidance, the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division’s proud Energy Transmission System is naturally half-crippled.

This kind of maneuver isn’t something a rookie could pull off.

...

Yagami Suuji opened her eyes, and Agent J also withdrew its tentacles.

”It’s not just the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division, the other five departments have all been contaminated.”

”Exactly what you’d expect,” Agent J spoke. Its current language was a standard alien tongue, sounding like cockroach chirps, yet somehow everyone present could understand it.

”Tier 5 Information Life corresponds to a Level 5 Celestial System. You can’t generalize, but taking down a single planetary civilization is ridiculously easy.”

Yagami Suuji suddenly said:

”If it were an Advanced Civilization, what would they do?”

Agent J paused for a moment, then said:

”If this kind of Information Monster were a mature form, once its position is confirmed, they’d cordon off hundreds or even thousands of planets and carry out saturation bombing. If there’s a Fixed Star nearby, the most convenient method is to detonate a Fixed Star—force it into an early aging phase, turn it into a Red Giant Star, then let it evolve into a Black Hole and devour everything.”

Yagami Suuji fell silent for a while, then said:

”What about life?”

”Life is the cradle of Information Monsters. Destroying life is the best way to deal with Information Monsters.”

The Players nearby pricked up their ears, listening hard as these two NPCs ran through the plot.

And once they heard the content, they all clicked their tongues.

Blowing up hundreds of planets.

Detonating Fixed Stars!

Black Hole Weapons!

Damn, that’s scary as hell, can’t afford to mess with that, nope.

”Ah, found Dida.”

...

Confirming coordinates isn’t exactly Difficult for Players. All that encrypted communication crap doesn’t hold a candle to small private chats on the forums.

Meanwhile in the Energy Realm, just as Dida was pondering how to call for reinforcements, a Divine Soldier dropped from the sky—a blurry human silhouette ripped open the Energy Space and snatched away Mr. G.

Fuck, that fierce?

Even a little lady like Dida couldn’t help swearing at the sight.

Though the ”Energy Realm” isn’t a real world, it’s like Virtual Reality—if you want to jack in without any hardware and just use your brain to go online, that’s not just hard, that’s nightmare difficulty.

But she didn’t know that this big sis Yagami Suuji is a monster running around with four Boss Templates. Among them, ”Super Bionics,” ”Deep Web Affiliate,” and ”Ghost in the Shell” all come with ”Networking” effects.

Any net, she can connect. Even the 18+ sites, Yagami Suuji can brute-force her way in—truly a must-have Divine Artifact for veteran drivers.

Back to topic.

Yagami Suuji very smoothly located Mr. G.

But with just one glance, she said with certainty, ”He isn’t Mr. G.”

”A fake?” Baozi said blankly.

”No. To be precise, he’s the first layer of skin Mr. G shed.”

Shed skin?

Don’t tell me Mr. G is a snake spirit. A male snake spirit?

Yagami Suuji didn’t explain further, instead looking downward:

”I’m going down.”

”Boss, please think this through!”

”Don’t!”

”Beauty, I still don’t wanna die!”

The Players spoke up in terror.

Big sis, it’s all ”Electronic Brain Graveyard” down there—do you have a death wish!

”If you want to wake Mr. G, you have to go down and make use of the Electronic Brain Graveyard,” Yagami Suuji said calmly.

In the end, the group still agreed.

Not because Yagami Suuji’s words were particularly convincing.

But because there was only one last step before finishing the Heaven-Level Task.

Who the hell would give up now.

...

So the Players all braced themselves and went down.

Turns out, in the ”Electronic Brain Graveyard,” the zombies’ skulls are even harder than yours.

Almost the instant they landed, Electronic Brain Zombies swarmed from all directions, packed tight. Not only did they scramble the five senses, this time they even scrambled Consciousness itself.

Pretty much on first contact, the Players’ vision went black, and the next second they were booted out of the game.

”Holy shit!”

”Holy shit!”

”Holy shit, one-shot kill!”

”My bird!” That was Plane’s wail.

Back in the game, Yagami Suuji pressed her hands together like a blade and slashed open Super Big Eagle’s abdomen. The Radiation Beast Bloodline was extracted, turning into blood Radiance that shrouded ”Mr. G’s” body.

Stimulated by the Radiation Beast Bloodline, this ”Human Form skin” suddenly burst into flames.

It seemed to trigger a chain reaction—the entire area, the entire continent, erupted in raging blood-fire.

A terrifying Life Force seemed to flood over the whole world in an instant.

”Mr. G” slowly opened his eyes and sighed, as if he’d already known everything that had happened.

”I really didn’t want to come back this early. Why insist on waking me up—”

Most importantly, once he’s awake, doesn’t that mean the Heaven-Level Task is complete.

The rewards—Experience, gear—he’d be the one footing the bill.

What a pain.

”Minister,” Yagami Suuji saw him and her expression immediately lit up with joy.
