Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 878: Chapter 46: Mission in Progress (6)

On the other side, Yagami Suuji, Agent J, Baozi, and Eldest Brother Hui finally found the aircraft’s bird.

In a sunken valley, a giant black-feathered eagle, the size of a small mountain, was lying on the ground in pain, its head frantically rubbing against the walls, blood trickling down, looking extremely distressed.

Yagami Suuji’s eyes flickered slightly as she moved forward, her hands like white jade. The ’Super Bionics’ ability activated, and immediately, the surface of her palm was covered with Radiation Beast blood vessels.

Initially, this A+-level Radiation Beast watched the group warily, occasionally letting out warning roars. But as Yagami Suuji’s radiation aura grew stronger, its roars became smaller. When she approached and gently touched its head with her palm, this giant eagle even showed a comfortable expression.

Baozi contemplated for a moment, then said:

”In this scenario, I have a thought unsuitable for children.”

”I know what you want to say, but I suggest you don’t say it,” Eldest Brother Hui said quietly.

”Alright.”

Baozi eventually chose to compromise.

”Where is it hurt?” Agent J asked.

”Its Radiation Beast Bloodline is dissipating,” Yagami Suuji sensed, replying.

”Dissipating? Could it be the ’Electronic Brain Zombie’?” Agent J asked.

”Probably not. Electronic brains involve the neural system, but biological bloodlines have little relation to the neural system.”

Yagami Suuji shook her head.

The neural system is like a delicate mechanism, with no redundant parts.

But biological bloodlines are different. They contain a lot of genes without ’expressed traits’; these genes aren’t useless, as any mutation in them can lead to bloodline mutation.

This A+-level Radiation Beast bloodline issue is likely unrelated to its neural system.

”Do you think there’s a living person within this Radiation Beast?”

Yagami Suuji suddenly turned to the two.

”Uh, yes, the aircraft should be alive,” Baozi calculated the time, puzzled: ”But according to his statement, he should’ve woken up long ago.”

”I understand.”

Yagami Suuji nodded, and with a knife-like motion from her finger, she made a gentle cut from her elbow to her wrist. The next moment, crimson blood flowed out, directly onto the giant eagle’s head.

The blood seemed almost sentient, directly entering through its pores.

Stimulated, the giant eagle suddenly shook violently, its wings creating a gale, and the A+-level radiation aura began indiscriminately impacting the surroundings, leaving Baozi and the others feeling intensely breathless.

Seeing this, Agent J directly pierced its forehead with an alien tentacle, quickly calming the giant bird.

’If I’m not mistaken, this npc seems to be transferring power to the aircraft?’

’No need to guess, that’s exactly it. Top Bionic blood comes with nano-repair ability. This lucky bastard of an aircraft—’

Baozi and Eldest Brother Hui exchanged a glance, their expressions showed envy.

Soon, on its back, the flesh and blood slowly writhed, squeezing out a blood-covered body. Eyes opened, their pupils vertical, staring at the group with a predatory gaze.

”Aircraft? Do you remember you owe me 5 million Mechanical Coin?” Baozi asked tentatively.

”Owe my ass, I’ve grinded through so many tasks for you, you profiteer!” Aircraft quickly regained consciousness, instinctively cursing.

”He’s conscious,” Baozi shrugged, addressing Eldest Brother Hui.

”What’s your current status?”

For npcs, confirming their physical condition is a hassle, but players just need to open their player panel to understand what’s happening.

”Huh, my Radiation Beast Bloodline is evolving?”

”Evolving?” Baozi and Eldest Brother Hui exchanged a look, cursing internally, this lucky Baozi.

”Are you sure you’re evolving?” Baozi asked, unwillingly: ”You’re not going to tell me your bird is evolving into an S-Level Beast King, are you?”

Aircraft hesitated a moment before replying: ”Maybe it’s S-Level, but probably not a Beast King.”

Yagami Suuji showed a pensive expression. While repairing the other’s body, she could clearly feel the Radiation Beast’s bloodline transforming into pure life force.

This is likely the reason for it being possibly an S-Level bloodline but not a Beast King, as stated.

Such a level of biological modification, the last time she saw it was during that cataclysm.

”Cataclysm... Bloodline modification...”

Yagami Suuji muttered to herself, suddenly lowering her head to look at the ground.

”Could it be...”

”Suzi, we have to go.”

Agent J abruptly spoke, the transparent tentacles on his mouth constantly quivering.

”My intuition tells me a swarm of Electronic Brain Zombies are approaching.”

”Ride my bird!” Aircraft quickly said.

”Didn’t you say friend’s aircraft shouldn’t be ridden,” Baozi quipped while climbing up.

Aircraft didn’t respond but whistled. The next moment, the giant eagle soared into the sky, and upon reaching high altitude, everyone looked down at the ground below, unable to help but show a changed expression.

Countless ’grave mounds’ spontaneously emerged, stretching as far as the eye could see, seemingly covering the entire continent.

Numerous Electronic Brain Zombies crawled out, starting to capture people all over the continent.

”How are there so many zombies?”

Baozi muttered to himself, suddenly changing his expression and exclaimed: ”Aircraft, six o’clock direction, rescue!”

Aircraft manipulated the giant eagle’s turn while asking: ”Rescue who?”

”Dida, and... him.”

The group immediately understood Baozi’s meaning. Dida with Mr. G was very likely the real deal.

Soon, the dense swarm of Electronic Brain Zombies began heading in one direction, almost identical to the direction of Aircraft and the others.

”What you think aligns with the Memory Mother’s thoughts,” Yagami Suuji paused, saying: ”Surely, the Memory Mother in this wave has awakened.”

The three players’ faces turned very serious. According to the mission briefing, the boss of this planet is a Tier 5 entity. Even a Tier 3 one could crush them.

”Hurry, dodge!”

Yagami Suuji shouted suddenly.

Aircraft hadn’t reacted yet when the dense energy beams came crashing towards them. Luckily, his eagle was more reliable, radiation energy covering its body, and the whole bird sank downwards.

However, these energy beams appeared concocted from nothing, always catching up no matter where they fled. Soon, the eagle’s body bore many bloody holes, blood streaming freely.

An A+-level Radiation Beast was barely enduring this relentless onslaught.

”What kind of weapon is this?!”

”Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division’s ’Shell Attack Weapon System’, deploying energy weapons through wireless data transmission. Look after my body, I’m diving in.”

Agent J nodded, a tentacle abruptly piercing Yagami Suuji’s nape, and then she began to sink, sinking further, once more immersed into the Data Realm.

...

Meanwhile, Dida was encountering trouble.

At that moment, she stood in a ’Radiation Realm’, looking down to find more and more Electronic Brain Zombies emerging from the soil.

But after taking just a few steps, they were baked into dried corpses by the high-temperature radiation.
